  • They made good points about media and political spin but didn't really have much to say about the movie itself.

  • Except that nothing you said is based on fact, just your perception of what you see. That's actually a really good example of one of the problems that is dominant on the left. Because you have a degree in mass communications, you think you know better than the rest of us and if we don't take your opinion as fact it means that we're just too ignorant to see the truth.

Obviously neither one of us is going to bend on this because of a youtube comment, so I say we agree to disagree.

  • Watch the clip at the beginning. That's EXACTLY what Bill O'Reilly does. Watch him and see for yourself. I debated in high school. I was very good. You know why? I understood that when my case was weaker, I should just use tactics exactly like those. I had to do it a few times, and guess what? I NEVER lost a single case. I did not always have the superior case or even the superior argument, but I did have the superior tactic. And I never lost even one single time.

  • yeah I know, but I hardly think you can accurately call a cigarette or a pack of cigarettes 'the deadliest product ever sold'... only because death as a direct result is not guaranteed by a long shot, if it does contribute it's not for decades, etc yeah cigs are bad but a gun is a more lethal product. so is a bottle of rum.

  • Yea, cuz republicans are the only ones who resort to these kinds of tactics as a means of political persuasion. Very observant guys.

  • @thekurgan89 They use it FAR more. The Dems count on their voters to be smarter than that, so they think it won't work. Nobody ever went broke underestimating the American people. I know about these things. I only observe Democrats using tactics like this very rarely, but the Republicans and conservatives do it almost 100% of the time. That's the reality. I know a lot about this.

  • @xJoeEDangerouslyx I still disagree. Based on what I've seen, I think that democrats do the same thing in a different way. They use lofty rhetoric that associates themselves with moral superiority and anyone who disagrees with bigotry and selfishness. I went to a very liberal arts high school and saw this for myself. When you scare people from speaking because they'll be labeled a racist or a homophob, you're ending an argument, not winning it.

  • @thekurgan89 Unfortunately, you are way over-generalizing. Democrats and progressives do believe themselves to be morally superior in that they believe in compassion and the good of the people over the gain of the individual to a much greater degree than the Republicans and conservatives do. Conservatives believe themselves to be morally superior as well through points of individual freedom and responsibility.

  • @thekurgan89 By saying they label anyone who disagrees with selfishness, bigotry, racism and homophobia, you're missing the big picture. Liberals do not by and large label unjustly. When someone has racist arguments, they call it what it is, as with sexist, homophobic, or ones bigoted in other ways. But when it is not justified, they don't do it nearly as much as you think they do. But when it's justified, it should be used.

  • @thekurgan89We must call out ignorance and intolerance in all its forms if we are to evolve as a society. conservatives engage in name calling and hurl insults when they are wrong and scare the other side into submission. That's why the Obama administration caves on issue after issue. The right knows how to use these tactics and the left just won't .

  • @thekurgan89There are exceptions, granted, but they are relatively few. Just look at the comments on TYT's clips, you will see an overwhelming amount of animosity from the ones who have bought into the right wing's lies. These obviously angry and fearful people are the ones to whom the right is appealing with this, and it works. It just isn't the same.

  • @thekurgan89 The two are not equivalent nor even close. I happen to have a degree in mass communications and a minor in Poli sci, so I sort of know how this stuff works.

Sorry it took so much space, but I think you should know the facts. I think everyone should. I think we need to spread knowledge so that people can stop being so afraid and manipulated.

  • i love my cigs, don't take that from me!

  • I don't get why people hate on tabacoo when alchol is so much more destructive I mean an alcholic will die much faster then a smoker and an alcholic propualy won't be able to hold a job ether also people don't realize smoking doesn't just cause cancer but so does alchol, alchol can cause mouth troat and esphigus cancer

  • penn and teller bullshit smokeing ^_^

  • was a great movie =)

  • I've never seen these two before! Where have I been? So good. I'll post the video on Facebook. Thanks for being great thinkers and talkers. Keep up the good work.

  • so fucking sick of these Tiesto advertisements. You're killing me tyt.

  • @Aerotides

just push the F5 key on the top of your keyboard to fast forward through youtube ads

  • @Aerotides (its called ad block plus ^_^)

  • @simplycrazytube Yes I have been enlightened since since that was posted.

  • as far as the health care problem, its clear cut that anyone who has money to lose from the insurance companies, will vote against any bill that includes any form of a public option, the main one being the single-payer option, which has worked in most industrialized countries. this is old news, yet still remains a defining factor in the voting of it. it's sad that our government continues to ignore the wishes of the american people. exciting, yes, depressing, yes, frustrating, yes. good, no.

  • to sum it up, the drug industry, not too far from the health industry, has created a system of psychological as well as physical addiction to their products. some of these drugs they push are effective, but the long term side-effects are either unknown or greatly diminish the future health of the individual taking them. what we need is a regulation on the pharma industry to keep profit from being the main drive to create these drugs.

  • the connection to the health care industry is a good one, but not entirely perfect. the best connection is the connection of lobbyists defending anything that they are paid to defend. an addiction is not something to play games with, and its harder to lobby AGAINST an industry that sells an addictive product. whats legal is legal. but we all have a right to smoke if we want, but only because it is available. so restrict it, nothing will change.

  • tobacco needs no lobbyist. if you are addicted, you smoke. if you want to quit, you can quit. it takes no will from outside agencies; it takes a personal will to do so, just like any other addiction. the problem here is, those who smoke, most do not want to quit. like me.

  • @thecellarlife

i do agree with that, but there is such things as education, subliminal messaging, advertisements. why do you these guys are spending billions to market their products? people didn't become addicted to smoking overnight. it happened through time, and it will take time and education to reverse the process

  • With all the money they are spending, if they fail in getting their way, the lobbying industry is finished.

  • 12:12 -> Hilarious!

  • I don't get why they act like cigarettes are so dangerous and tobacco yet they support the use of marijuana.

  • Marijuana when vaporized or introduced via consumption doesn't have the cancer causing effects, and is surprisingly better for you.

Topically applied it is an antibiotic, that SURPRISINGLY is effective against MRSA.

It has MANY uses almost all good. THAT is why marijuana is supported.

  • But obviously not good for you, I know it is less harmful than cigarettes but anything smoke you are inhaling or any drug obviously isn't gonna be good for your body unless you use it to treat an illness. But the legalization of marijuana is different than just allowing it in hospitals or prescriptions. It means people take it like cigarettes. You end up with more deliquents, but it is the smart way to go.

  • You are still inhaling smoke. The only thing you are not inhaling with marijuana is the nicotine and 4000 additives that tobacco companies add.

Of course if it is legalised, the tobacco companies will be selling marijuana and will be doing the same things to it.

  • I said vaporized or consumed, NOT smoked.

There are ways to extract pure THC as well, I know you can find the information online. I found it years ago very easily.

If legalized, just like micro-brews and homemade wines, people will be growing private stock w/o all the additives.

  • It will be approximately three minutes before some tobacco company will find a way of making a massive amount of money on it, homebrew or not.

  • That's where you're wrong.

They'll have plans to make money off of it before the politicians that are already in their pockets get it passed.

It'd be funny if it weren't so sad.

We need to end the corporate stranglehold of our government.

  • I meant three minutes from the point I said anything.

They will have their buddies in congress write the legislation.

  • Hmm so then why does it say it has cancer causing effects on every article about marijuana? how else would you consume it if not smoking it or eating it? I don't get it, I know it has cancer causing substances (carcinogens) but I don't understand what you just said, I think you are just making that up because you want marijuana to be legalized.

  • You can use a vaporizer it is not smoking it.

  • what do you mean by a vaporizer? isn't smoke vapor?

  • It needs to be legal, because of all it's effects that are better than both cigarettes and alcohol

How poor is our education system now?The vapor form of water is. . . STEAM!!

When you heat THC oil, it gives off a vapor. You'e not burning the plant and inhaling the smoke.

Just because YOU don't know other methods, doesn't mean smart people haven't figured out other methods of consumption.

"Every article about marijuana" possibly b/c the carcinogen discovery's only a MONTH OLD?!

  • no its years old, I did a report on marijuana a few years ago ok. And also what do you mean by THC oil, if it is oil, it isn't marijuana. Marijuana isn't oil, it is a plant. That is like saying consuming olives is the same as consuming olive oil, that is why i didn't get your point, because it didn't make sense.

  • Google

    "marijuana extraction thc oil"

    and

    "marijuana vaporization"

If you did a report, than you SHOULD know that THC is the active ingredient in marijuana, just like nicotine in cigarettes. That make enough SENSE for you?!?!?

People can get nicotine from patches and gum, and both are regarded as SAFER than smoking cigarettes.

I have no idea what your "report" was on, but if you followed science, then you would know the link to cancer was only released last month.

  • because no one ever died from marijuana. look it up.

  • not from overdosing, but long term effects are things such as lung cancer, which can kill. There were 109 deaths from '97 to 2005 from marijuana contributing to their death. Basically, if you think cigarettes can kill, marijuana can kill. Because if you think something such as lung cancer is a result of smoking, then smoking cannabis is really no different, may be a little less harmful for your body, but not enough to make the chances of lung cancer low enough to be as if you never took it.

  • the difference? marijuana can be used in many different, simple ways. you can make food with it, you can have a pill with it, just as you can do with any drug. the issue is that smoking something is different. people want to smoke. until you break that desire, you can not change the system.

  • Why is it illegal? = Money Maker..

  • it actually costs more to keep marijuana illegal than it would if you legalized it, and taxed it. for California alone, the estimate for tax revenue is about 4 billion a year. that could be higher or lower than the actual number, but I'd bet it being lower. if you legalized it, many more people would be inclined to purchase it. on top of that you reduce the prison populations for non-violent crimes, and keep a lot of cases from ever going to court, thus lowering costs even more.

  • "Trick" is a great word. What do you expect from the Conservative cult! Tricks are all that cults have. They cant tell the American people the truth, because every cult knows that if you tell the truth...noone will support you.

  • Cenk, put a link to the guy's user name next time. His name is jsjkim. I'm checking out his other reviews.

  • Personally..I'm kinda irked with the over regulating of things the government deems bad for me. Like...I'm not adult enough to make these decisions on my own...so lets have the government hold my hand because I'm obviously an imbecile who can't think for myself. They are now regulating asprin for cryin' out loud...They assume the American consumer will abuse it and get liver damage. It's silly. This isn't kindergarten.

  • damn ana changed

  • cut her hair and forgot to put on makeup =(((((

  • where ana?

  • Comment removed

  • More Kim, I love stats.
