  • Hickok45 doesn't paint his target, he's lying.

He flips them over after every video.

  • I've got a question for you hickok, why is the half-cock not considered "safe", especially when referring to the tokarev tt-33?

  • hello from overseas! Hickok, after all that shooting on your range what about led contamination? do you do something to collect all this led and what can someone do about it??

  • I've always been wondering what the diference is between that little red "rifle plate" is and the rest of the steel targets?!? I recall you saying that the other ones were 3/8" AR500 steel, so what in the world is harder than that? (as far as target steel goes..) Any insight would be greatly appreciated!!

  • "oh hi", trademark, love it!

  • i was thinking of investing in a ar15 or ar15-like rifle, i see bushmaster has some nice models at an affordable price compared to competitors such as colt and smith and wesson, what would you go with?

  • @hickok45 keep it real :)

  • wait a secon... did I just see all the faq vids in a row?

yes I did :p (the best use off spare time :P )

  • @drjenks1986 People like you make me lose my faith in humanity. Thank you so much. I want to know, does saying these things make you feel better about yourself?

  • @hickok45 don't take it personal. as you get more famous, you become a target for the disaffected and sickly. good news is your fans increase in size too...

  • hey Hickok, what is your favorite gun?Thx for your answer..

  • that range is awsome, you wish you had that in your back yard, i thing im moving to tenn....

  • @hickok45 hey hickock, leave this bstrd alone, he don't deserve your attention ;) keep up the great work, greets from italy!

  • :)))))

  • I love the sound of the steel

  • @marktype1with2 yeap!

  • @drjenks1986 What a stupid and insulting thing to say. Piss off

  • Love the steel targets and thank you for sharing your knowledge with the world

  • Hickok, I've been watching your videos for a while now, and I made my first steel target yesterday out of 1/2" thick steel. I enjoy watching your videos so much that I picked up some steel swinging targets at Cabelas, turns out that I too like to shoot steel! I think next on my to-do list is to make myself a nice steel gong! :-)

  • Keep it up Hickok45!

  • Goin' green by not using paper targets that you throw out after every use. =)

  • Well said

  • We all appreciate your hard work and everythingy you do in preperation for your vids. thankyou Hickok45

  • Thanks for always hitting the targets with the rattlecan first. We appreciate it!! I bet you want a fresh set of targets every time you go out there, it's not all about us.

  • You must drink alot of 2 liters too :)

  • Do you let it dry before you shoot it? Or just go at it! haha

  • I call BS on that Hickok, I think you eat brass shells and shit targets.

Haha, Hickok, you're too badass man, happy shootin!

  • Instead of supporting the steel industry he supports the paint industry =O>

  • I can believe how dumb people are.. Of course he paints them, it's common sense

  • Where did you find a lot of your targets? B/c i'm wanting to buy something that is portable so that i can go shoot on my grandpas property instead of going to the range all the time.

  • it always makes me laugh how you start these, where you are startled by the camera. like all those awful comercials :P

  • i was actually wondering about this, but never bothered to ask, thanks for the info

  • Sometimes you have to be blunt, even though the information is not what everyone wants to hear.... :)

  • Arntzen Targets: Cowboy 3/8 x 15 x 24, 25 Lbs. - $111, Tombstone 15 x 23, 34 Lbs. - $107, Circle 3/8 x 28" diameter w/hole, 66 Lbs. - $195, prices do not include shipping... Why not just put new ones up every time?

  • u could make a tank from all dat steel

  • Hey when are you gonna test out the sig sauer p224?

  • hickok45 you make me wear open button shirts to hide my glock .23

  • WHAT!!!! no shooting in a target rich environment????

  • @robin6512, Well, yes, for 40 FAQ videos in a row. :-)

  • @hickok45 should have celebrated by bringing out a .40 and then firing 40 shots

  • @hickok45 Hey Hickok, you don't have to answer this, but do your students know how famous you are here on youtube (and tv), and do other teachers know who you are? Thank you.

  • @hickok45 we need a "this is not a video" video.

  • @robin6512 I don't even think that shooting steel that close is safe.

  • oh hai

  • hickok45 rockn a new ruger hat... who wants to bet a ruger sr22 video in the near future?

  • @ipaintyou1, Yep, according to Ruger, it's pretty much "in the mail." :-)

  • @hickok45 Whoa! I just figured out what an SR22 IS! I thought it was some AR in .22!

  • @hickok45 Before or after TN9 is done with it? Or did he swipe your mail? LoL

  • @wildpb check out the magnum rifle gong made by caldwell. its 3/8 in thick by 10 inchs. made from ar-550 steel. cabelas has it for 135.00 bucks.

  • Hickok you get those questions almost daily? I feel for ya man with these questions.?. I wouldnt have the patience for it. . but Im happy that you do LOL. 73 JKW.

  • LOLOL I Kinda figured that .... wonder who asked that question? Hum... ? JKW

  • I'm very relieved that you actually addressed this. I've been curious as hell about it but thought it too stupid a question to ask XD

  • thanks for all the hard work but anybody that watchs your vidieos should know that you paint the targets for us and i would not do the same till the paint was plum wore off

  • Lead paint :)

  • Stop shoting bottle of coca-cola i love it :D

  • @Hickok45 where do you recommend getting the targets, similar to the ones in red hanging by chain the beginning of the video. Trying to find some that are quality with a quality stand, not having much luck.

  • you should put up some moving targets, swinging tree stumps and stuff

after all, a zombie doesnt stand still

  • I've used that walmart paint, but that stuff is awful.

Hickok...you might want to try the stuff Grainger sells called DEM-KOTE. It's 2.94 a can, but I like it much better than krylon or rustoleum.

  • I love how he's like "oh hey, hi there" like he's surprised to see us. i laugh histerically every time lol.

  • Informative on the pigment density issue! Thanks for the daily effort to make quality video's for us to enjoy and look forward to on weekends. Like the cap!

  • LOL but Mr Ford always used black....

And in the name of total disclosure... your confiscating rattle cans from kids in class....

  • @nateedubs To a certain extent. That's why you always want to where eye protection incase shrapnel repels off the steel.

  • Okay, question: Isn't shooting steel that close dangerous?

  • @nateedubs See his FAQ about ricochets.

  • @nateedubs, Yep, not wise.

  • love the ruger hat you are sporting\

  • People arguing over which spray paint Hickok should use on his targets...wow.

  • Fresh paint does make a big difference, thanks for doing that! Other videos that shoot at a target thats been riddled already with bullets is boring. Paper targets are fine, but hearing the steel targets says "it's a hit"! Then you can see a fresh hit on the fresh paint. The gong is cool, when you zoom in on it, you can see the bullets bouncing and again, fresh paint hit marks.

  • wow thank you I was wondering this too

  • Thank you for spending more on a longer lasting better looking paint for our viewing pleasure.

  • i never see u make a video with RPG 7

  • @ehnaidoh100

Seeing that it is near impossible to own explosive projectiles, yeah don't see Hickok doing andy RPG videos in the near future.

  • Unbelievable.

  • I like these little "faq" video's.

  • Here's a question: Have you ever fired a Welrod or seen it in person?

  • Here's a question: Do you ever have to replace targets due to using steel-cored ammunition? I know a lot of 7.62x54r ammo is steel cored (at least the cheap surplus stuff is)

    Just curious

  • @WillMoyer150 if you nocited he only shoots some targets with rifles even lead core rifle rounds can be hard on steel targets steel core 7.62x54r(the common 147gr light ball steel core) is a mild steel and is not armor pericing like some people think but most high power rifles should not be used on steel targets without them being the right type of steel and and the raight range

  • "If it aint broke, don't fix it" amen

  • I've been watching you forever Hicock, and I've always wanted to ask this lol.

  • I really question the mentality and lack of common sense of the viewers. Incredible!

  • I'm guessing you buy one helluva lot of soda to blow up. Probably diet soda that won't make such a sticky, ant attracting mess?

  • @jffrocks lol, he's out doors, I'm pretty sure ants are of least concern.

  • @TheDrokonas Maybe the ants keep the copperheads away...

  • ★★★★★

  • H&K P30 with the LEM trigger, please. PLLLLLEEEAAASSSEE. Thank you.

  • Hard to believe some of the Qs you receive, Hickok. Guess it's a good reminder that one man's "Elementary, my dear Watson" is another man's "E=MC2."

On another note, I've become spoiled by your vids in that I seek metal targets over paper ones. The ping is more satisfying and a better indicator of success at a distance than sight. Plus, I'm not so overly concerned with accuracy that I need to be on the bulls-eye at 80 yards --so long as I can hit the gong!

Thanks again for your great videos!

  • That's your shortest video yet, good job quick to the point and who keeps asking you these stupid ass questions??

  • Thought so great idea.

  • I lile your hat.....too!

  • @TactMaster360 I'll swap sub with you. I was looking at a few of your knives and that would keep me tuned in. My channel is a prepper channel in the suburban hell. It has it's advantages too. Deal?

  • If you could just have Gunner run through the background on your FAQ's vids would be awesome...but he'd probably want a commission of "scooby snacks" or something!

  • @FlourescentPotato now you tell me, ive been useing kittens all this time. lol. jk

  • They must love you down at the paint store! You probably keep them in business ;) ;)

  • walmart spray paint is 1.00 a can :)

  • @daddyoca69 and worth every penny..

  • @daddyoca69, I could write a book on spray paint. You generally get what you pay for with spray paint. Usually the more expensive can is a better buy, as with tires.

  • @hickok45 if you were going to shoot the tires would you get the best? hahahaha just taking a cheap shot, cause any shot is a good one & they cost less

  • @hickok45

Paint quality hardly matters if you're going to shoot it off, no?

  • @ChielScape, LIke I said, I could write a book on spray paint. Guess I'd better do that for you guys. :-) Cheap paint has less pigment and does not go very far. Generally, a three-dollar can of paint will paint ten times as many targets as a one-dollar can of paint. That's what I meant about getting more for your money. :-)

  • @hickok45

That is half the problem today, most people think cheaper means more economical. If I pay $10 for a product that lasts 1 year until it needs to be replaced or $100 on the same type of product but it only needs to be replaced every 15 years which is the greater value overall?

    Quality is better than cheap.

  • @hickok45 I've just noticed that you havent done many videos with .380 ACP,

I would really in joy your input on the Sig P232 or some .380 concealed carry hand guns. big fan - Rick

  • @hickok45 Now I know that ! So much learning on your channel ! Thank you sir !

  • @ChielScape well yes and no. To put it in perspective you can but a $1.00 can of paint and it will cover 1 target or you can but a $3.00 can of paint and cover 3 targets. In the end your still spending the same. Would you want to carry around 1 can of paint or 3???

  • @hickok45 Yeah but if all you're gonna do is shoot it up, you might as well get the cheapest stuff possible.

  • @hickok45 I agree. I just got my targets (Arntzen) about a month ago, have been using a hi-glow flourescent orange, works beautifully. $3-5/can depending on where you purchase.

  • @hickok45 As with guns, except Glocks, whose quality seems to be entirely out of proportion to their price : )

  • @hickok45 That's weird. I never can tell the difference between the cheap and expensive cans when I'm shooting them...

  • @daddyoca69 It would be perfect for targets because you're just gonna shoot it up anyway! Doesn't need to be high quality.

  • @Hickok45 Hickok.. @f0ksie had a good point... Have you ever blasted a hole through any of your targets? Or maybe used a rifle on anything but the hardened steel plates and gave them a big ding/hole?

  • All I have to say is that once you shoot steel, it's hard to go back to paper.

  • this is a FAQ? i just assumed u painted.....why replace metal unless u manage to blast a hole thru a metal target........ok now im wondering if you've ever blasted a whole through a metal target....

  • Waitning for a bajonetvideo, where hickok is chasing zombies :)

  • O Hai

  • Sounds like a good job for a mother-in-law...

  • That and loading magazines! ;O)

  • I always buy new steel targets after each shooting session....

    Painting is for "PEASANTS"....

  • oh, hi.

  • Wat is perplexed

  • Do you paint the hit marks on them too? lol

  • hehehe that was great,

    fredde

  • "that's all I got to say about that" -Forrest Hickok45 Gump

  • @FlourescentPotato D: NOOOOOOOO THE PUPPY

  • @hickok45 how about a video with a converted Saiga 12?

  • Man, by this time each target must have enough layered on paint to cover a 747.

  • Who are the three idiots that disliked this video? Probably the ones with stupid questions, I guess.

  • how long does it take for one of the steel targets to wear out?

  • Little known fact: Since Hickok started doing videos 3 years ago, Krylon's stock has risen nearly 38%.

  • Hey Hickok45 you should paint a little red dot on the black targets

  • Even if someone's question is stupid, it had to be answered (i think). So, Mr. Hickok answers...

  • @vados8383

    There are no stupid questions.

    Just stupid people.

  • Hickok, where do you get those targets?

  • I am glad that he shares so much of his shooting knowledge and skills with us. The man and his son are helping to present a safe and sane face to the general public. Us shooters owe him a big thank you.

  • Hickok you see FPSRUSSIA destroy the Glock 19...So sad :( haha

  • @museruls Glock 21

  • @museruls Thats a G21,but yes...he did it :/

  • Did you know that mr. Rogers was in the special forces before he became a minister? Did you know him? Just another goofy question for you!

  • you deserve more subs

  • Well, I guess in a way, this is good news . Verifies you are attracting viewers that have never had any exposure to guns, and shooting as a hobby. And I do not know any one better that may win them over.

  • @lurch2150 Hey man, I think it's excusable for hickok to make a short video, especially being that 90% of youtube videos are short. He has plenty of 15 minute plus videos for your viewing pleasure.

And plenty of viewers have never been to a range, never mind produced their own metal targets. It hardly means they are stupid to not know they are repainted.

  • @lurch2150 You might want to watch FAQ--30.

  • @lurch2150 douche...

  • Cold and nasty outside, no shooting here today, but there is a hickok45 vid up. It's a good day after all. thank's.

  • A rednecks last word " hey everybody, watch this!"

  • i thought that since you clam you never hit the targets, you never needed to paint them!!!

  • I have been playing with the 10,000 round reactive ball lately. that sucker is a blast. Give it a little kick and then keep it rolling along with a .22 pistol. When you hit it right the sucker will boogie along. I paint that too. lol

  • Comment removed

  • Yes, how much do you spend on soda?

  • BBQ or Cajun?. Both?.

  • How do u get soo many Pop bottles

  • @nbrundage3 "how does Hickok45 get so many pop bottles?" just a wild guess here, but I would imagine with money and and a trip to the store.

  • lol. Oh dude! Buy New, Come on HICKOK45. I laughed really hard on that. Thank you, lately my favotite target paint has been the giant spray cans for marking construction. Like they use on road work. They have a downward pointing nozzle that just puts out a lot of paint quick. Covers the metal easily and dries fast. Thank you for the laugh, R n' R.

  • I hope you don't mind however do you pick up your brass at the end of a shooting session?

  • @916strada yeah he does, he reloads almost everything that he shoots, i think maybe he does not reload his .40 caliber

  • Comment removed

  • What's your favorite color?

  • What kind of shoes do you wear?

  • How many caps do you have?

  • so now u support the paint indry....still doing ur part aint u hickok45....hehehe love the chanl.

  • Keep painting them and keep the vids coming!

  • I know some people would just shoot at old saw blades from either a table saw or miter box saws

  • @manualmaniac1

What a great idea! I would buy that!

  • your the best!!!

  • think you replace them, haven't looked at the price of steel targets.

  • LIFE IS GOOD !!!!!! thank you for all your great information !

  • and, life is good!
