I used to live close to that spot, in University Place, a suburb of Tacoma. I saw the newer bridged regularly.

Why? They were so dumb to not secure that bridge.

@Quadrye secure? they didnt take into account the strong sidewinds that the pacific narrows creates. they solved the problem with grates for the wind to blow through on the next design. it had nothing to do with securing the bridge.
