  • 3:28.you are making the capacitive effect tesla was talking about, good job, i put up a ton of info on this if you want to know more!

  • Right. Those MB guys often don't get stuff exactly right, but it's a fun show anyway.

    Thanks for watching!

  • @Drevtoobe:

I accidentally deleted your last comment, the one about the Java applet. I am sorry, the damn delete button is just in the worst place. PLEASE post that comment and applet info again. I am really sorry. No offense meant...poor user interface design (YT, are you listening?)

    thanks--

    --TK

  • I love your work- exactly what I've been doing, but you do it much much better.

    To your critics I might say- In the words of Albert Einstein;

"If we knew what we were doing, it wouldn't be called research"

  • Thanks! Can you share some of your research? I'd like to see what you are doing.

  • Hehehe, what am I not researching?

If you have about 10gB free on your hard drive, I'll burn you some DVDs with information on many different topics- radio, electricity, physics, nuclear physics, plasma physics, and many many other books in PDF format. I have a million different projects, the one I need to get to working on right now is a vacuum tube tesla coil that I hope to audio modulate. As well I am trying to build a large amplifier using 2 4-400s so I might investigate NMR

  • That sounds really interesting and exciting. I'd like to see the material, for sure, and storage isn't a problem--I saw a Terabyte drive advertised for under a hundred bucks the other day. The best thing would be for you to upload the files to a file-sharing site, like *me*di)a^fir&e (strip non-alphas).

Speaking of audio VTTCs, I made a little singing flyback circuit that runs audio out through a tiny Jacobs Ladder at amazing fidelity (but very low volume...)

I should dig it out and viddy it.

  • Thanks, giantkiller. I appreciate the encouragement.

@Drevtoobe: Did I say anything about radiant energy, or Star Trek, or anything like that? Have you ever heard of an Aeolian Harp? What makes the Earth's magnetosphere assume that funny shape, all crunched up on the dayside and with the long tail always streaming away on the nightside? Does the solar wind do work on the magnetosphere, pushing it around like that? I think it does.

You're clearly very bright, but you don't dream enough.

  • I've looked at drawings of the magnetosphere in books since I was a kid. The solar wind interacts with it, etc. It is is a manifestation of what we understand about electricity on a large scale.

I want an Aeolian harp that can play a chord! Dreaming is relative. I dream of a better world too and was quite taken aback by the cold fusion news in 1989. False alarm. But an inductor kick-back spike charging a battery is not dream material.

  • @TK, yes.

@All, Read Tesla's patents and work. This can not be stressed enough.

Tesla, von Braun, Einstein had a pow-wow.

Tesla, Russell, Twain had a pow-wow.

Keely disintegrated rock with a portable device in 1890. Keely created microwaves with water hammer effect in 1880s. Shauberger disassociated matter with vortexes late 1890s.

No sense dragging belief down into disbelief. There are too numerous positive examples for the future to be represented by an stoppages.

    --giantkiller.

  • Uh huh. Did you see the parts in the demos where I show that the range at which I can pick up the power with the matched bifilar spirals INCREASES when I put the non-powered secondary resonator into the field? Surely it takes some power to resonate the secondary. Why does the range increase? How does the mere presence of a secondary, which itself must be dissipating power, act to (seemingly) increase the power of the original signal?

Is it focussing the field somehow? I really don't know.

  • Don't get excited because you see increases in the brightness of the neons when you move farther away. Move far enough away and the effects will become negligible and disappear.

If you could put magic glasses on you could see the field intensity and see hot spots and cold spots, just like there are hot spots and cold spots in a microwave oven.

The actual EM wave distribution in your work area could be crunched and plotted with a computer.

  • "It is the kinetic shockwave coming from your devices." lol Did you ever see the Star Trek episode where Data figures out he can bluff his opponent and says, "Get ready to engage the Photonic Cannon", when there is not "Photonic Cannon"?

Think of the big resonating coil as a big AC electromagnet. It is creating a big toroidal AC magnetic field that is filling up your room. The coil on top is picking up some of that energy and inducing an AC potential at the end of the wire.

  • The bottom line is that the setup is 'lighting up' your work area with AC electrical and magnetic fields. Especially the big geometry of your resonator coil is pumping out a huge toroidal bubble that might be 12 feet high and 15 feet in diameter.

The little feeble neon lights are in a bath of AC electromagnetic radiation with pick-up wires on both ends. Any magnetic induction or electric field induction can generate enough voltage across the neons to generate a 'puff' of current discharge.

  • You're almost right, again. It's getting to be a habit!

Actually, at the freqs I'm using the power is most likely capacitatively coupled rather than electromagnetically. So electric field yes, but electric field induction, in the electrostatic influence sense--maybe.

But what you are most wrong about is the "bottom line" part. What I'm showing here is only the beginning, and hopefully will save others some time.

Like Desertphile. I'd hate to think of him wasting time, thinking. About anything.

  • I wish you luck and have fun. The conventional thinking would be that to get to the 'next frontier' you are supposed to have a mastery of the established order. Like Picasso and Salvadore Dali were conventional artists before they branched out, or before you play experimental jazz, learn to play the standards first. Just my two cents. That's a generic "you".

  • @TK, post the amperage. If you make that coil just right then it can run everything else with another converter in the house and the utility co. will only see the coil.

    How's that for candy?

  • "If you make that coil just right then it can run everything else with another converter in the house and the utility co. will only see the coil. How's that for candy? "

Reality check time: Coils and capacitors are simply energy storage devices. A good mechanical analogy is springs and weights. A coil can only resonate with a capacitor, like a spring connected to a weight.

A resonating coil/capacitor setup is simply a device that STORES AC electrical energy, and will NEVER power you house.

  • I know what you are suggesting: The utility company will only see the current draw on the one coil, and then the resonating setup will create much bigger outputs and that can power your house.

This will never happen in a million years. Energy is conserved in these setups like the Universe dictates.

You see a very high voltage at the coil output when it is in resonance. That's because the LC resonator is storing the energy from the signal generator, cycle by cycle, increasing the voltage.

  • You are replying to statements made by another commenter, not by me.

I agree, energy must be conserved. If there is any "overunity" in these systems the energy is coming from someplace else, like the Schumann resonance, perhaps.

The signal generator provides no power to the circuit; it is isolated by the CMOS logic. All power to the coils comes from the batteries through the H-Bridge.

  • And just like the spring, if you hang the system in a place where there is an energy flux at the appropriate frequency, the system will act to extract and store energy from that flux, where it can be made available for later use.

We are all already powering our houses with resonating coil/capacitor setups, they are just using energy from conventional sources. By retuning, we MIGHT be able to "listen" to the ringing of the Schumann cavity and extract some of the prodigious energy it contains.

  • I read about the Schumann resonance on Wikipedia. It is a big waveguide cavity around the earth that resonates at around 7 Hz. The only thing that is 'exciting' the cavity are lightning strikes, about 2000 (?) per second. So that means that the cavity murmurs along with the faint echoes of lightning strikes. That's it, that's not a source of energy. There is noting to 'tap into', it's like a bell that is barely ringing. There is no possible energy source there, it's just a cavity.

  • I know, Tesla's tower was supposed to excite the cavity, and the world could have a free source of energy, and J.P. Morgan couldn't charge for the power and said no.

Here is the big problem with that argument: Assume the Tesla receiver antennas at home could work. Fine, but where to you get the power to power the Wardenclyffe transmitter? How come nobody considers that??? Where does the ten-million megawatts of power come from to do this to power the world? A coal/oil/nuke megaplex?

  • "if you hang the system in a place where there is an energy flux at the appropriate frequency, the system will act to extract and store energy from that flux"

Right, you can speculate forever about undefinable, unmeasurable "radiant energy" on the forums, when in reality your little experiments are clearly demonstrating electromagnetic energy in all it's glory. There is no 'flux', but have fun trying to find it!

  • Have you ever heard or seen me speculating anywhere about "radiant energy" of the kind I think you mean?

And if you don't think the Earth is bathed in a flux, just go relax on a beach somewhere. All day. Without sunscreen.

And that's just a single band of the EM flux in which we are bathed continually.

Re Schumann cavity: you seem to think 2000 multi-megawatt lightning strikes per second is dull and boring, but I don't.

  • The comment about "radiant energy" was generic, not specific to you. Let's not confuse various real fluxes with "there is an energy flux at the appropriate frequency". However with a wide interpretation, solar cells are tapping into the energy flux.

For the cavity, you could calculate the average energy density from the unsynchronized lightning strikes and find out that it is beyond minuscule. Also, only a minuscule fraction of the lightning energy spectrum would be at the cavity frequency.

  • For the bashers, why don't you investigate the wave compression that happens in a magnetic amplifier bifilar. They transmit greater power with out the wires. Why is your pc plugged into the wall, again?

  • Whoever bashes you here doesn't know what there are seeing. Also stated is the 1 wire conduction. So we don't have the second wire as copper. It is the kinetic shockwave coming from your devices. The antennas just slow down the speed. I just thought I would raise the bar way higher so it is out of reach of the standard thinking.

  • Your large 3 coil setup is very close to a Tesla coil. The top coil is inductively connected and you can put a load on it! That is great. In your ne2 and leds in series we can see that voltage is not a measurement in this type of power.

Oh, and the sparks on your finger tell me you are the other terminal of a stun gun. 8-)

    Great videos.

  • Can you investigate the capacitive reactance of the ambient air? It seems to be a part of your circuit. Also, I would like to see an investigation of the capacitance of your Meyers cell and a resonant inductor to drive it. I would choose as close a frequency to encourage sonic resonance within the cavity if possible. And don't sweat the Rice brothers with all of their various puppet names, their opinions just parrot the voice of the trolls.

  • Tinsel owes you nothing, no answers, no nothing. You have no right to ask questions.

  • (Thanks, X-man. Since those comments were non-constructive, abusive, and simply trolling, I removed them. I encourage discussion of science issues, and if I have made errors please point them out--with supporting evidence please!!)
