I have played every guitar imaginable and this is my opinion. Grestch have a twangy, grungy, lo-fi dull sound!!! I owned one for years and it does not compare with a Gibson Les Paul. They are OK for a novelty but the sound is too country!!! Those who like them are just kidding themselves. I am happy for this guy and I hope he loves his beautiful-looking guitar, but really they are just not my cup of tea!!!

Ironically, the night after I posted that first comment to you, I noticed one major online store say that the Duo Jet is solid body. It isn't. It is a chambered semi-hollowbody.

Not a Gretsch owner myself, I play Gibson V's, but you may be able to get a replacement bridge that locks down to take care of the bridge flying off when you change strings. I know they make them for Gibson's as we have the same problem... It sucks, you bump that little wheel and you end up messing with your action when you should be playing.

Hey Momo, just curious, the bridge is fixed on your model - but when I go to the Gretsch site, the Power Jet has a rosewood floating bridge on both the Bigsby and non-bigsby model. Do you custom order yours - asking for a fixed bridge?

gretschs are versatile...dont listen to the guys below. A guitar is basically just a paintbrush, so it depends on the player BUT famously gretsch guitars tend to fall more into the hands of rockabilly guys,rock n roll guys, some punks, blues, and so on...bo diddley, cliff gallup, billy gibbons, malcolm young...tons of people.its notable that gretsch guitars arent anything like the big gibson sound, but do have a good OOmph for distortion if thats what youre planning

I like the fish eye lens for camera, goes with the image. That guitar sounds loud without an amp which is good. They say if you pluck the b string and can feel it vibrate the tail of the body you got one worth checking out. There is no other take besides the first because you will just repeat yourself....
