Fuckin' Eh! I love to hear stories like that last one! You may be in a support role, but your role is just as vital as the frontline fighters, so train up so that you are ready to step up with the fighters and give them the support they need!
Nutn do you have plans in the future to get your private pilots licence? My grandfather was a B-29 Superfortress pilot in WW2. I've always dreamed of getting my licence and flying.
As a fellow firearms/tactical enthusiest as well as an AF pilot(E-3 Sentry), I appreciate these videos. This is the kind of stuff I used to love sitting around talking with IP's about while I was at JSUPT at Vance AFB. Good stuff; great lessons and great war stories! Thank you for your service, Sir! - Lt
This vid. series is great! Just another small peek into the life of nutn (and keepin' it REAL :D), and to top it off there is a lot of life lesson involved too.
The tanker bingo story got me to thinking. Wouldn't it be a good idea if the tanker could use some of the fuel meant for the fighters in order to get home? maybe i should talk to a tanker design dude :)
@pete5668 If the fuel for the KC135 & receiver A/C are the same type I believe they can use the entire load themselves. The problem was that Nutn's A/C was on bingo fuel, meaning he only had enough to return to base. Like he said in the vid, after refueling the F16's he didn't have enough to make it all the way back to England. Nutn safely diverting over friendly skies is of course safer & cheaper than trashing 2 F16's in enemy territory because they ran out of gas.
@astrowanabe I know that, but I just wondered if bingo just means there's enough fuel in the main tank to return to base, or if he can flip a switch after refueling the fighters and use the remaining fuel to get home.
First off i would like to thank not only Nutn but all other users in this thread who have served our country. even if people don't support where our government is going with our military today...it still is a large sacrifice and takes a lot more guts then most people have. Thank you......also what one of "dudios" songs is in the intro to your video ? thanks in advance for the response :)
I guess all you retired AF pilots need an outlet when you retire. Hubby wrote his stories down in a book he gave to his parents for Christmas just after he retired. Always good stories. Yours are similar to his. Must be a tanker toad thing!!! LOL!! Love you tanker guys and gals! There were some good female pilots out there too!!
Nut- I'm a 1,400 hr. GA pilot and I agree with your philosophy. When the ceilings and visibility are low, I make myself go out and fly approaches. It makes me more prepared for times when I have a plane full of souls and more is on the line. Thanks for your service and your great guns and gear reviews. You rock, my friend.
my air force story is about a dead friend who was at the academy in the late 80s @ co. spings, then got chucked into the PJ/FCC job in the early 90s... i've mentioned him you to before. he was a serious do-er. He died because he stuck his head into too many tanks. He would have been a fan of yours if he'd lived. Glenn Koser was a good guy.I miss him.
Like I stated earlier my father was in the military 22 years and passed away serving his country. My brother and I have a great love for our military and men and women that make it up. No one branch is better than the other. You need all to make things take place. You gave sound advise to all of us through your experiences and thank you for sharing. Thank you for all the your you put in to keep this country safe.
PS: I don't agree with what we did in Kosovo. Kosovo is now the source of all of the drugs and white slavery in Europe. Not to mention that they'll be the major source of terrorism as they're quickly being radicalized by the Saudis and other fundamentalist Muslim sects. Once these Kosovo terrorists start bombing Europe, we'll see the price of stupidity that was Kosovo war.
Amazing how I watched TV as an 8-year old about the Kosovo war. Nutnfancy HIMSELF was flying in that war, in one of those over 100 tanker aircplanes.
Quiet professional seems like a smart thing to do in a high speed, quick reflexes and thinking environment like flying. Not defending the other pilot when he shirked away from his duty. BUT some quotes by Patton
"Untutored courage is useless in the face of educated bullets."
"no bastard ever won a war by dying for his country..."
I didn't know you worked in Kosovo. You should check out shtfschool d0t co0m. It's written by this guy who describes what it's like to survive WROL in a cut-off city for years. Very interesting stuff, and the guy is very grateful to the USAF for helping to save lives.
Really enjoying this series of vids. I am finding that I can relate to all the philosophy points and I am must entering field training. Thank you for sharing and thank you for saving the tatas!

Awesome series you really step up to anything you do, thanks for the philosophy, reviews, run and gun videos but most of all thanks for your service to our country. I have learned so much from you.
Thanks for sharing. Really enjoying the series. So funny your story when you blew past your turn off when taxiing and the jet blast blew thru the building. So funny. Then again so real, the pilot failed to retract the gear on the stop and go and the resulting disaster. Keep it real!
I started watching you for the gun reviews, but this series, as well as "lessons of my father" have quickly become some of my favorite vids! Thank you for producing this series, and I am forever grateful for your service to the country and the freedoms we have as a result.

AWESOME life philosophy. ITS TRUE so many people think they are great at what they do but "suck". Once you get past the ego and admit I can be better, they truly CAN BE.
Could you imagine the TNP Run N Gun if Nutn could afford an airplane? Run 30 meters, engage left target, five rounds. Reload engage right target 10 rounds. Run 20 meters, take cover. Call in air support, straff run on group of evil roys. . . run another 25 meters. . .
This has been my favourite series so far. Never have I seen something so encouraging and inspiring for those who have career dreams. I love your run & guns, reviews, adventures and other philosophy vids but these just hit the roof for me.
A lot of what you were saying goes along with something I hold very dear - there is a fine line between confidence and arrogance, getting the balance right is what makes one a quiet professional. Thank you for the inspiration to make the extra push to succeed.

Another fantastic one Nutn', these are practically recruitment vids. Makes me want to drop 60lbs and go back in time 10 years.

Thank you for the inspiration to make the extra push to succeed.

man these two videos (pt.1 and 2) are the best, most interesting videos I've ever seen. VERY inspiring, it really feels good just to watch this.
