I see the Czech audio DVD with English Subtitles on the Ebay page and I keep hearing about this dubbed version. PLEASE...when can we expect the dubbed version on DVD or Blu Ray? I would hate to spend the $40 on the subtitled Blu Ray only to see the dubbed version is coming out in a month.

Attention Vancouverites or anyone attending the Vancouver International Film Festival in 2011. Kuky (Kooky as it is listed) will be shown at the festival! I am so excited and happy that I will see this on a theatre screen. It will be this English language dub that is shown. There are only two screenings: Mon Oct 10th 115pm and Tue Oct 11th 7pm. Please don't ever think about download at thepiratebay or anywhere torrent site. If you buy this movie consider support their film company and probably making new movie as incredible as this movie. I admire their directors, actors, photography (picture,) and musics. I love Amanita Design. Maybe one day Kooky will be new PC Game. You never know :P

Just release both Czech and English versions on one dvd... enable the viewer to watch both, and enrich us all. Also - don't forget to include those who are without hearing altogether! Subtitles have more purpose than just helping those who don't understand a spoken language - they expand your audience to non-hearing individuals as well. Thanks.

I am norwegian and am used to reading subtitles, and usually prefer original language with subtitles. But I like the idea that the original actors speak english. Maybe I will get more out of the film that way, because the actors can try to lay in more meaning in the tone that I may loose in the text. Different languages use different tone.

@SmartK8 I understand StopmoNick why he/she wants the original version. It is not true that puppets don`t have the original language. It is a Czech film, so you should have a chance to watch it in Czech. Trust me - it`s much better. The English dubbed version is not bad (anyway - Czech actors made it) but Czech language and its intonation goes with this movie much more :o) Just try it... But I have to admitt that I`m not very objective because I am Czech ;o)

@SmartK8 yes it is! because, even if cartoons, puppets, or any animation even without lipsync characters, the original language is part of the SOUL of the films.

So yes, it is important to have the original language available.

@SmartK8 actually yes. the english voices sound really cheesy. the original, czech version on the other hand is much better, you can feel the emotions of the characters, and a lot of work was put into the voice acting. seriously, i know that you probably can not see the difference, but trust me, the original version is much better.

@SmartK8 : Not sure if it is even made in Czech but if it is and the story and animations were made after that language then yes, it *is* that important to watch it in the original language I completely agree with StopmoNick. Same goes for all animated film in my opinion.

That said, the voices I heard in this short trailer did manage to fit in quite well as opposed to some other films (try any Miyazaki film for example, those dubs are more than horrible).

There can be however much visual details going on, and people who are used to reading subs will still see them all while at the same time easily following the subs. Though I guess the dub is made for those who are not used to that.
