Nice, always good to see another young Crown Vic enthusiast. I am 19 and I have owned 3 Vics, an 87 2-door, a 94 LX, and a 98 P71. I still own the 87 and 98 but the 94 was salvaged :(. Nice car man!
Nice Crown Vic. I just picked up my first Crown Vic 6 weeks ago. It's a 2003 P71 ex LAPD dective car with 98,000 miles. I was worried if I would like it since all I have ever owned was pickups since I got my license 16 yrs ago... But honestly I have fallen in love with how it drives and how surprisingly fast it is for weighing 2 tons. One thing I like is the face that pretty much any bolt on perf part for a 03 Mustang will work on this car So I think im gonna hopefully make 280+ hp soon...
my moms first car was a 60 something dodge dart swinger she drove it 300,000 miles without 1 single problem. she paid 600$. 1 day my dad was on a highway and he decided to floor it and blew the engine.
The door does not ding because if an officer is approaching a sitting vehicle or suspicious people they do not want them to know the officer is coming. Somtimes the door dinger can give them away if it's quiet enough. Same reason why the light does not go on.
I love that whirring noise crown vics make as you start to drive off =) I got a 2003 P71 with 106k. Runs in perfect condition and looks great for its age. Love Crown Vics
What is the severe duty pakage? I have a 92 vic LX I picked up for $50 w/179,000mi. It sat in a yard for 3 years. Started up on the 3rd crank with a good battery. ANYWAYS, it has a trans cooler, ps cooler, dual exhaust, air suspension, and a suprise to me, limited slip! Just a 85 mph speedometer though, not a P71 car, I checked the VIN. It is a P74.
generally they are, not saying you couldnt find one for cheaper than the cop cars, but theyre usually cheaper because (in general) theyre more beaten up than stock crown vics. But boy are they fun. got my first ex-police car last year, 93 caprice 5.7 L, police package. and now im looking at buying a 89 crown vic or a 94 crown vic ex-interceptor. they both have around 250 000 kms so i dunno which one to buy
I love the '92 model. Can't see why they only made them with that front end for one year. To me it looks 100% better than the following models ('93 - '97).
i got one for $100... 92, 105000 miles. runs great. but the speedometer just broke yesterday, wont use it till i fix it and put the remote start on it.
air bag light same here i never figured out why it blinks on and off at first i thought the air bag might deploy while driving but it hasn't happened yet and i've been had it for 2 years
i had a 92 crown vic and the door chimes tended not to work after awhile due to a loose connection in the ignition switch. this was a common problem but it didn't bother me because that chime was loud and obnoxious haha
i payed 500 for my 94 crownvic

problem with buying ex police cars is you should see what they do to them.
They leave them running 24/7

Good ole 4.6s are great engines. It's really cold in Ohio right now, and my 95 Grand Marquis starts on a dime every time. Absolutly no problems.
