@HydrogenIsExplosive Well, at least let it be established that we Americans (and I concede I generalize) are clueless about just about everything, music certainly included. This probably got exactly ZERO airplay in the entire US, save college stations.
Great Canadian early 80's sound. The music and lyrics. A lot of really great music then during the high school years...Haircut 100, Strange Advance, ASIA , Streetheart, Blue Peter, U2 and Muchmusic actually played videos. Remember JD Roberts as the VJ long before becoming a news anchor in America?
Awesome music thinking about this song..I bought the cassette ..way back then..and played it so much..had to keep buying new ones..over time..love it all..music for ever jillxo..
The Spoons just released a new album "Static In Transmisssion", it came out last week, they are also ocurrently working on the video for the first single "You LIght Up" which should be out in the next week or two.
This song has all the sound and feel of early 80s dance Music in Toronto ... Spoons Concert in 1983 at the Concert Hall in TO, and at Martigrove C.I ... Good Times!!!!
@MacedonKing Ha, ha ... so true! Good old Canadian Content rules keeps it alive, but with a bit of a New Wave revival going on around the world at the moment, it fits in with some of the stuff out there (I'll bet one could sell it to Australia as a 'new' track, even, as they're eating up this sort of music at the moment.)
@Nieghorn :) yes, there's 80's great influence in today's music, in particular the totally underground , non mainstream synth music. A lot of 80's obscure underground wave-y stuff are rediscovered, and these musical processes reshaped the music of old - 80's and modern as minimal wave, minimal synth and synth wave. Check out my page for more, for alternative sounds for the lovers of synth music
Thank you for placing this extended version on YouTube. This is one of my favorite songs from the 80's. Sure the original video is crappy; but, I'd rather listen to high quality sound.
I'm surprised that there aren't more comments.
Maybe people don't readily know what band sings this song.
why oh why.....couldnt I have been born in the 60s or very early 70s ( born in 1980 a year before this came out actually!) anyways,,,,,I love retro music from the 80s!!
I spent years attempting finding the album this song (Nova heart) was a track on (arias and symphonies) during the eighties. Thank you so very much for taking the time to upload it here. Stephen Wayne Reno Monday, July 19, 2010

Great song! Still love it! Too bad the international recognition for it was short lived. Canadians still love it though.
