We don't need to 'elect Governer Johnson' to 'end the war on drugs' with less effort than was put into making this video, the 'war on drugs' could be 'ended today'. It's easier than changing baby diapers.
Let’s not divide the vote. How about a Ron Paul / Gary Johnson ticket in 2012 and vote for Gary Johnson as president in 2016. They could be a tag team match. WOW what a vote that would be. It would be a landslide vote. Ron Paul could restore the constitution and reduce govt. size while Gary Johnson ends the war on drugs and eliminates the IRS. It’s a win / win situation.
lets not forget a law is an intolerance , garys wasting his time fighting the corruption the of exploitative political and justice cash machine, 97% of all laws make life pointless for citizens, but its great for the pockets of those shithead legislators and those in the justice commerce
the very reason conservatives refuse to decriminalize all drugs and give them out in legal clinics by health professionals is that they want violent gangs to sell them and keep gang crime alive because, justice is but a money driven and an exploitative commerce that cashes in on the dogmatic intolerances, falacies and enslaving negativity political lawmakers force upon its own people
no such thing as getting a life , a life of monetary slavery where the only thing legal is to die of old age and politicians imposing their beliefs intolerances and stigmas upon a hole population continuously is not living your own life its living others peoples intolerance's having a life is impossible im just saying that im not against the world ending its the end of being dominated and enslaved by others. theyll just put another fascist orwellian pig in power so garys efforts are useless
Mr. Johnson, thank you for making this issue an important part of your campaign! Believe me, this gives you huge support from the under-30 crowd that haven't been brainwashed as long as our parents have about marijuana. I have read many medical journals with studies on the plant, and I know that the AMA recommends it. End prohibition now!
The majority of U.S. citizens are totally missing the point about the "war on drugs". The "war on drugs" has nothing to do with saving lives, making life safe, or JUSTICE. It is the greatest tool ever put into use in order to grow the governement, militarize the police and fund the ever growing "police state". In fact, it worked so well they came up with an even bigger and better tool called the "WAR ON TERROR".
Go to CSPAN video library. Watch Gary Johnson's State of the State addresses from 2000 upward. George W Bush was at each one of them. He openly advocated for marijuana legalization bills in front of GWB and his harsh uncooperative legislature (even though only 2 of his bills were overridden, so he did make a BIG difference in NM). Gary Johnson has a lot of cajones, especially as a Republican governor.
I feel like this shmuck is just trying to get the popular vote by saying hes for marijuana legalization when in reality he could give to shits about it.
@illnessartist Gary Johnson has smoked pot in his life, as recently as 2005-08 for injuries he sustained from a near-fatal paragliding accident. If you get to know Gary Johnson a little better, you will find he is incredibly honest & genuine, a real rare-breed in politics. In fact, he's not a politician. He built his own successful construction company from scratch, ran for governor, served 2 terms (term limited), then went back to private life.
Admittedly, I'm a liberal, but Gary Johnson is a conservative I can get behind. He uses facts and statistics to prove his points. I would love the opportunity to vote for him or Ron Paul in the general election, however, it seems the Republican base is really rooting for the religious right in Bachmann, Perry, and Romney as the front runners. Why can't more people get behind Johnson and Paul? They are the only ones providing common sense solutions to our problems.
@IloveSexualMusings In 1993, a Gary Johnson for Governor was seemingly long shot. No one thought he was going to win. I'm still confident in Gary's chances. Rick Perry should suck votes away from Romney/Bachmann, and Gingrich and Santorum will probably drop out. That's Gary's plan is to wait for them to duke it out and drop out until it's only a select few. Not to mention that this time in 2007 the Ron Paul Revolution hadn't come into full swing yet. Gary might garner a similar following soon...
@SchuldinerIsGod91 I agree, Gary has a great shot. While the mainstream media are putting attention on the corrupt beauty queens and smiles with false promises, Gary can use his positive energy to put important issues in the spotlight. I'd love to see him as President after Ron Paul.
@IloveSexualMusings I lean left of center too, and I like Ron Paul's opinions on the FED and our hijacked monetary system - but I'd have a BIG problem with his agenda to return self-determination of a woman's health care back to the days of "States' Rights" - too many women died in those days because their States interfered with our right to determine our own care. If the gov't tried to do that to men, it would never fly.
@eysofastrnjr Because ending the fed isn't the cure all. Yes, it should be done, but the US Treasury will just continue to print money. We need Governor Veto to become President Veto to cut spending by 42% so revenues match expenditures once again.
It's too bad you didn't mention how many people die from alcohol overdoses every year. One of my former friends is a part of that statistic. :( I think narcotics need to stay illegal, because they exist solely to enrich druglords at the cost of utterly ruining peoples' lives. But MARIJUANA?!? Alcohol is worse than that stuff. Also, prison for hard drugs is stupid - it should be treated as a health issue, not a crime issue.
Not to mention the fact that the drug cartels and the violence they cause would all but disappear. You never hear about beer or wine cartels in the news.
great video. also interesting is how racist the war on drugs is. Users of marijuana cover all races but disproportionately those with color get the time.
I liked the video, I agree with another poster that you NEED a voice-over added. Preferably a female voice as it has been proven people listen closer to a woman's voice then a man's. Also the voice is needed for the people who are blind or can't read text very well AND for the people playing games or cleaning or some other activity where they are not LOOKING at the TV.
I hate how people say, "Vote for Paul instead" simply because he has more people supporting him. Yet, they disregard the fact that if they switch to Gary, then Gary would have more supporters. That's how votes work. Gary is not like Ron. Gary is better libertarian.
Johnson and Ron Paul are the only ones in this primary who can actually form sound arguments in the debates. Anyone who is principled in cutting spending has to be against the wars since the military is 58% of discretionary spending. I asked Obama about military spending in a town hall, citing the 2.3 trillion in unaccounted military spending before 2001, he said let's look to the future, we'll take the resources put into Iraq and take them to Afghanistan and audit the Pentagon. That's 2 for 4
@Leftovervictim1991 This guy or Ron Paul should be a running mate for somebody that has a chance of winning, you've gotta be a radical Republican (see: Fascist) to win the nomination just like Democrats have to be radical to win their nomination. It would blow my mind if a libertarian (see: rational candidate) won
Between Ron Paul and Gary Johnson I'd say that Johnson is more of a realist who is willing to negotiate compared to Paul.
Don't get me wrong, Ron Paul is the epitome of liberty nowadays, but sometimes he doesn't explain in depth his ideas so that a moronic American public can understand.
As long as we let corrupt politicians accept bribe....i mean donations from the mob and other people who benefit too much from keeping it illegal that will never happen
Id like to see Gary Johnson the Professional and obvious choice for challenging Obama in the coming election. Make sure that the video quality is high it needs to look professional like dimmed edges and high sound quality, make your audience feel good else you might end up with a bad reaction. portray your viewer as a stupid person and be simple.
The commercial seems a bit annoying, not to mention it portraits you as the pot candidate. It will be hard winning the election and for people to take you seriously when showing a commercial based on Marijuana and money. I am hoping you win but you should speak or have someone with a movie intro voice speak for you to get the message out in your words else it might get misinterpreted. I am hoping you win but for that to happen people needs to take you seriously.
@serNevh It portrays him as someone that gets it that prohibition didn't work for alcohol and it doesn't work today. We have wasted a trillion dollars on this in the last 40 years. It's a no brainer to end this war just like the wars with bombs so we can balance the budget.
@HardyMachia This commercial is more of a shock commercial, if I saw this without knowing what Gary stands for I would not vote for him. He needs to portray his views differently his a lot of his vids has been IMO in poor standard compared to other GOP. I'd say he would need to do 3 things to win the election, be BOLD (say I am THE candidate for small government and I will beat Obama on any topic), be Reasonable (not too radical), be simple (use small messages that people remember)
Theres no evidence to back this up. This video is crap same way pot it.
