I played this game, but i only played one character. Where there different characters you can play because i am seeing scenes and characters I have see before.
I'm really shocked! I always figured the Wii and PS2 were about the same in the graphic department, and especially the extra space for movement controllers... Good Job Wii! The ps2 one reminds me almost of a late Dream Cast game (Well. its not THAT bad.. but it kinda still does to me..)

GameCube already was much stronger in processing power and supported various visual effects that PS2 simply could not. It was just a tiny bit "weaker" than original Xbox, which was like miniature PC. Wii on the other hand is said to be around twice more capable than original GC, only thing is that it does not run at HD resolutions for some reason.
The PS2 port of RESI4 suffered same kinds of cuts and downgrades as SH:SM here.

all i can say is that for starters not being mean or anything but for starters on this game they should try the ps2 first before they play the wii version if you want to but my vote is ps2 :)

although, I'd have to agree with a minority of comments made many pages ago, that the likes of Silent Hill 3 on the PS2 gives a much better indication of graphical comparison.
This is especially true of Shattered Memories, because as others have already alluded to here in past comments, the PS2 release was 'simply' an upscale of the PSP version with some minor graphical improvements (just like 'Origins' before it), as PSP-to-PS2 upscales make better business sense :)

@roosteemon Wii, I suppose. Because you control the flashlight with the wiimote. Also you can hear the phone and the calls on the wiimote. That really puts you into the game and makes it more intense. But if you want classic Silent Hill feeling get the Ps2 version, definitely a good choice too. Hope that was helpful. ^^

Really phoned in the PS2 version, huh... I think it's particularly weird that they used different character models and different maps. I wonder if it was just to conserve more space. I'm still waiting for a worthy sequel to Silent Hill 2.
@blackey5000 The looks of the characters and environment depend on the choices you do during the psychological tests, and also a bit on how you play the game. It has nothing to do with the platform, people just experience this game differently.
PS2´s visuals are clearly downgraded though. Lighting is much lower quality, vision distance is cut quite a bit it seems, and worst thing of all: the ice, centric element of the game, now lacks transparency and glossiness! Same with mirrors.

PS2 was already the weakest console of the previous generation, which some people still won´t accept as it had such a huge game library, and tons of good looking games (original SH series, FF games, Gran Turismos...). Gamecube alone supported various graphical shaders games still utilize today, PS2 supported NONE.
A PS3 port would´ve been perfect for this game. It looks nice in HD resolutions, if you emulate it well

Japanese developers really put their backs on it when making their games. They may invest time making some details that would appear pointless really, but it all adds to the overall image.
SH2-4 bumped to HD-resolutions DO look better than the Homecoming for example, no matter that it is running on much stronger hardware. Hiding bad design with special effects and filters is never a good idea.
For those all what's thinkin in Wii version is sexiest police women. No! After you beat game and decide to play again, that policeman woman who's similiar to cibil (I'm spelling it wrong?) from SH1 will appear instead that old one.

Funny thing is, PSP looks better than PS2, it only runs at smaller resolution!

The wii version is obviously better. But I've always thought that Silent Hill 3 looks even better than new silent hill games (except downpour) for a strange reason

Japanese developers really put their backs on it when making their games. They may invest time making some details that would appear pointless really, but it all adds to the overall image.
SH2-4 bumped to HD-resolutions DO look better than the Homecoming for example, no matter that it is running on much stronger hardware. Hiding bad design with special effects and filters is never a good idea.

@mrtim3133 Because they're almost equal in graphics. (Wii can do better of course, but they use ports of ps2 versions of the games to the wii, so the graphics are almost the same)

Nintendo Wii is Gamecube Hardware with little modifications and another controls, but same hardware, everybody knows that(it seems like you don't). Gamecube was released in 2001, PS2 was released in 2000. So YES, you CAN for sure compare the two consoles because they are almost the same in hardware. Hope you learned something little kid.

Another fact is that a lot of games for PS2 have a version on WII... and this versions are just fucking ports or devels havent spended enough time to improve it for wii potentia. THATS WHY A LOT OF N00BS think Wii have ps2 graphics.

yeah, the wii version has better graphics but not by much. Also the wii is not at his best with this game, in fact i think the graphics could be way way better especially if compare with other games like dead space, metroid, etc. Also i dont know if PS2 can reach 480p...

Regaurdless of graphics and the awesome Wii features, I'd still buy this game for PSP or PSP should the chance pass me by (I don't have the game, and my Wii is packed in a box. But I have watched the game on YouTube roflmao same with Siren: Blood Curse and Silent Hill 2)

What ever you answer, what ever you look at, how ever you play the game, the game psychoanalyzes you and changes everything (persons, monsters, environment etc) to create your own nightmare. The warning at the beginning of the game isn't for nothing, you know.

Dude look at the release difference, PS2 is still AV and Wii is HDMI, People release these videos cause they are upset that their Wii is most probably worse then a PS2 and need some self confidence that they made the right choice picking Wii, when truthfully games like "Dead Rising" Wii can only support like 5 zombies at once? PS2 is one of our biggest gaming history holders, the machine was a godsend for gamers, Even when PS3 was released they still brought out games for the PS2, think about it

The ps2 is a really old console i'm surprise that it can still pull off good game. a u can't compare the Wii with the ps2 i mean the ps2 is 10 years old cut it some slack is the best system its life time and the best console that Sony ever made.
