Not really, shields are mainly there for shield-based attacks and the big +armor boost.

A little question, are the blademasters able to wield shields? And are all classes able to cross with one another (eg, Guardian with gun or evoker with sword?).

Blademasters are technically able to wield shields. And there are guns that Guardians can equip such as nova guns (which can be awesome if you invest points into accuracy instead of other stats).

I got my Evoker up to lvl 15 in the beta, and the swords that dropped had the circle with a slash through it in the corner of the nametag (like "no smoking" signs). That basically means that Evokers can't equip swords. In red, it says "requires: Guardian, Blademaster."

And yes, Blademasters start with sword/shield in the tutorial...you actually don't dual wield at the start. Evokers can equip rifles and pistols, but I found that they weren't as powerful as my Evokers spells/skills which always seemed to deal way more dmg.

When the game releases your account for the Beta will automatically be transfered as your account for the game ;), Basically you keep your account name and dye kits. But other betas, characters will of course be wiped. so you will have to start anew and try to get your character names before others grab em.

I love the BM, he can instagib pretty much anyone...but...he dies sooo much quicker than the Guardian. It's a shame because I prefer the BM but the Guadian is just more powerful.

Dude I have this dilemma, I love BM but they f!@#en addicted to health injectors & guardians rarely get killed what do you think, which one? (I'm a lvl 22 BM in beta this is how i role for the moment)

Its all based on playstyle. BM can go through and absolutely annihilate enemies, but if they get phased and take too many hits theyre done for. Try stacking some resists and armor and see if that helps a bit, mitigate as much damage as you can.

I agree my play style is slaughtering the fuck of demons, BM only need long distance protection the aura is a piece of shit only 50% in last lvl (at least in beta though)
