I have loved Shelbys voice since 1990. I still have not seen her live. I want to. she is awesome. One of the best female voices out there, why doesnt country radio play her?
She's still rippin it out and doing things her way. She has a faithful live following and that was good enough for the grateful Dead. Who needs that radio shit anyway?
You know the Love Shelby album has been out for about 7 years, yet I just heard this song just the other day. I heard her do Waiting on the Day on the Chris Issac show. That was the first time I even heard of her. Shelby is a very passionate singer. I think she is awesome.
have to post again. just bought the Dusty Springfield tribute CD. Blew me away. Read the words to this song on Google and see how you end it. Pretty thought provoking........
I am so glad people listen to the words of people like Shelby. Story telling suits some people and she is one of them. Love her and her whole life has been intersting. Look her up on Wiki.
It's unfortunate this awesome singer didn't make it big in country because she didn't fit Nashville's "old boys" idea of country music. She was too much like Shania. Shania was lucky she met and married a big time producer who pushed her songs. I think Shelby is just as good if not better. The "old boys" are redneck idiots; they lock out a lot of amazing talents because of their mindset. But they do love Bush and ass-holes like Toby Keith. What a bunch of redneck idiots.
I love this version!!! Great live! Shelby is so unknown over here in Europe (except UK I suppose) here in Poland no1 knows her!! I've been a fan for 6/7yrs or so, but she has much more to offer than those 7yrs. I still think Sheryl Crow is more of a talent, but who am I to compare :) Still love Shelby's stuff though, thanks for posting this coz it's my fav song :)
Fantastic!! Thanks for posting this! Shelby is such a talent and her live performances let her shine. The tracks on her latest release "Suit Yourself" were recorded in a "live" style...single-take recordings...no mixing/dubbing afterwards. I also posted her performance of "Your Lies" from the 2006 Austin City Limits Music Festival...so a search and check it out if you love this one.
so this is shelby, the film-mother of j.cash in Walk the line", singing one of her greatest song, why the hell is this great singer/songwriter so unknown over here in europe? I love her, i even got all her albums, go on shelby write and sing on and thank you for your music Jörg baiter

Shelby Lynne is on tour right now. She's heading to the UK and northern
Europe. But, she will be back in the states (the northeast and the
mid-atlantic) in late March. If you like live acoustic with her exceptional
voice then go to her web-site for more info.
