great song heard on a great anime set to great paintings, dispite what naysayers say. I felt that the only point of the video was to showcase your work, not silly transitions or timming it to a tune (even though a beautiful tune was chosen). I am more impressed with the straightforwardness of the presentation, and your brush work (what little i could make out on my tiny monitor). Its closed minded to expect every series of pictures passes on a screen with music playing to be a music video.

The male vocal performer for the other version of the song is Steve Conte. His voice is a lot better and filled with a lot more energy and passion than hers. She only has one tone of voice through this entire song and is by far inferior to him, and also her talent is very low, if none at all. I am an audio editor/specialist for motion pictures(films) and work in music studios and i should know. So, as an expert opinion, your taste in music is very bad, but then again, tastes vary.

If you even bothered to get the Cowboy Bebop DvD, as well as listen to Kanno Yoko's interview on Tokyo tv about her music inspirations, you would know that the original song is by Steve Conte and that she couldn't put the song in because she needed a female vocal for that particular catherdral showdown scene between Vicious and Spike.

As for quality of the versions Steve's is better. As for the accent of the scene in the anime, Mai's is better. Like at the oscars, the academy doesn't say 'this movie is the best', give the oscar and then the oscars end in 1 minute. NO. They have different categories like best male actor, female, supporting role, special effects, sound, song etc. So if one movie is better in 'best sound effects', it doesn't mean it will win in the category 'best movie'.

You know, Steve Conte's version was originally slotted to play in that session, but upon hearing Mai Yamane's vocals, Yoko Kanno deemed the female vocals more appropriate for the intended scene. And Steve Conte isn't trying to sound like Steven Tyler, he just sounds like Steve Conte. :)
