You are right! We did a "re do". Check out my other video. In this one his transfer case poped out of gear. He got it back in in the middle of the intersection. I stopped just on the other side. Both trucks are 3/4 ton. He challenged me!

I'm not saying the I6 can't pull the big block. Looks like the Ford is heavier. Depending on how it's geared, it might actually give the big block a hard time for a minute. All the Chebby needed to do was lose traction and the Ford would pull it away. Skill of the drivers, you know?
Those 300 cubic inch, straight-six fords are monsters and tough. I grew up on a farm and farmers would buy these over the V8's, with the bull-dog top-loader trannys.
tough engine, lots of power and decent fuel comsumption and you could but 200,000 on them with no problem - just give them a quart of oil between changes after 120K and they're good to go.
i got a 79 150 short bed short cab with 400mand a bulldog top loader. granny gear is about useless because it has always been way to much gear for any situation lol
The ford clearly has way more weight....
