Pretty fun little bikes actually. My brother just gave me his old 03 230, and im actually pretty impressed with it. Its not no 450 or anything, but it will cruise with them.

ok so heres the deal. older 230's have kick start and electric start. and dude honestly, put the baffle back in the bike. i re jetted my bike and took the snorkle and baffle out when i did it and the power was ok but i was told to put the baffle back in and i did and when i took off (launched) my power pick up was much faster and the *power band* was much more intense. try whats to loose?

This bike in my video is a 2003.. the first year for crf230s. It does not have a kick start. only electric start.

@x814HCx thats true but every time you rebuild a 2 stroke you are getting lots of power back plus 2 stroke engines are so simple you could do it in about 2 hours and i have had my cr 80 for 3 years and have never had to rebuild

you have to re jet the bike or itll burn to lean due to haveing no back pressure

It should do, the force it takes to "push" the gas out is increased by adding a silencer, so, when it hasnt got as much gas to be pushed out, it should decrease fuel consuption/ (iff at same fuel consuption) increase PTWR (power to weight raito).

i used to just put fuel stabilizer in it until it started to smoke out the exhaust, then leave it until the spring withotu starting it at all. Also yes, on wood blocks. Now I just start it up and drive it around in the snow for 15-20 mins every 3rd to 4th week. This bike is bulletproof, no matter what you do to it, its going to run

yea its not too bad. but deep sand might be trouble. the gears are really good... nice and wide and power all throughout the ranges.

do not get the 150.. you will grow out of it quick.

getting the 230 would be much better because you will grow into it.. and it will last longer. not mechanical wise, but it will just suit you better.

im 20.. and 6'2. I drive this bad boy. i may be 6'2 but im not too tall for it. it suits me well.

u might wanna try the 230f, when i got mine i was kinda around that hight, but my friends who are 13 and 14 are riding the 150f and say its to slow for them. i dont know what kinda riding ur doing but id say the 230f

@btag4 get a cr 80 they have great suspension that wont bottom out on a 3 foot jump plus the powerband on 2 strokes make riding them so much fun and they are lighter and easier to handle

the 250f racebike is exactly what it is. its a racebike.

the 230f is more of a trail bike. its aircooled instead of liquid cooled, and it doesnt have to be rebuilt every 2 years like the 250f does.

In terms of performance.. they are 2 completely different bikes.

one has more cc's so it is faster

@dmon715 if you got a 2 stroke you could get about the same performance from a cr 80. and you dont have to rebuild them every 2 weeks, thats an exaggeration. its just people that race and beat the shit out of them like to rebuild them often to avoid having them blow up in a race. i have had my cr 80 for 3 years and have never had to rebuild
