  • He is without a doubt an exeptional trombonist and musician, but I don't think he was good enough to win the contest. Still an incredible player nonetheless.

  • ....This kid is how old?

    For Sale: One Bach 42T

  • Please guard this kid very well....guide him to music, because if this kid continues to study trombone we are gona have a big voice and reference of trombone in the world....Peter keep up the good and the hard work.... XD

  • Well done, gr8 stuff!! inspired a lot of people including me!!

  • went to school with him.... bravo. he's always been good, now he's great. his mum's a fantastic music teacher.

  • amazing! im learning this piece now and this has given me some helpful hints

  • this piece i personally think sounds much better on a tenor horn than a bass... just personal opinion though so dont drill me abusive comments :)

  • oh my gosh that was amazing

  • ... and I thought our 1st chair in band was a prodigy... I think this guy is better than most high level college trombonists! Us high school t-bones have nothing on him lol! I'd like to see him play jazz tho

  • @thatasianguy99 watch wooden snow

  • how does he hold the trombone??

    2:07

  • @5erdom Yeah he holds it weird...he's still amazing though.

  • @5erdom he holds it like a boss

  • @5erdom Why does it matter how he holds it?!? I'm just in awe of how well he plays this piece! I definitely want to try it now. (The piece, that is)

  • beautiful

  • He's brilliant, and that's just his intro few words.

  • this has to be one of my favourite trombone pieces of all time. This piece has such a beautiful melodic melody with amazing chords coming from the piano accompaniment. This performance is excellent, and for me, blows you away!! Anybody know the meaning of Sang Till Lotta?

  • @tromboneman18 it means "lotta's song"

  • @AlexjDevor it means "song to lotta"

  • he is very good for his age but one quite significant thing that is lacking from his playing is vibrato. that could add soooo much more quality to his sound, especially in pieces like this.

  • @lordofdastrings76

vibrato is overrated. The only flaw I heard was some poor choices to breath and some notes that shouldve held longer. Other than that.... what a beautiful, colorful, rich and vibrant tone. So full of life. This almost made me cry.

  • @JokinJoe If vibrato is so overrated then why does every single soloist use it on recordings? It adds color to the sound, in my opinion.

  • @JokinJoe I wouldn't say overrated, but in many instances it is overused. I hear so many horn players around me trying to play quarter notes with vibrato and stuff. I use it plenty, but only in correct situations or if I haven't been able to fix a note to tune properly with the piano/band.

  • @lordofdastrings76 LOVE YOUR USERNAME!

  • Beautiful

  • Could some one please tell me the song or guy playing the percussion xilophone please!!

  • I've been comparing this with his catagory final performance. I prefer the latter., his pervious performance. The moment I heard him played I got emotional out of the blue. It was so wonderful. But it's very nice to hear the whole piece. Wish him all the success. I love trombone.

  • What is the tune called that is played in the background at the beggining.

  • @tdude129 Its called Arrows of Time by Peaslee

  • I'm anxious to watch his career take off! Amazing performance!

  • I'm 13, I'm as good as him, but I'm amazing at how much confidence and poise he has. No way I could stand on that stage.

  • @cenotosa1 This made me laugh slightly, how you stated casually that you're as good as the winner of Young Musician of the Year. Call me cynical, but I somehow doubt that's true. :P

  • @whoknows2007 you denied a fact. If you're going to not believe that fact, go live in some imaginary world.

  • @cenotosa1 LOL, a fact? The fact that you're as good as him is an opinion. You can't prove it as a fact, it'll always be an opinion. If you'll upload a video of yourself playing and see what people think, by all means, feel free. ;)

  • @cenotosa1 Excuse me for interupting guys, but... Prove it. You think you're as good as him, prove it. There's no point telling people that you are without evidence. For all we know, you might not have even touched a trombone in your life...

  • @keenboy1310 Excuse me, I'll prove it, and also, did he earn the title "best trombonist". No. So, I'll prove it. I'll play rings around him.

  • Wow! This kid is amazing! It's wierd I've got sheet music of this except everything is exactly a third down. I'm also surprised he uses that thing on his by the bell I tried one and found very uncomfortable. But still if he plays well that's all that matters . Great talent I say!

  • @tdude129 Yeah, the original is a third down. Christian Lindberg published this version which suits the trombone just a bit better.

I have one of those things on my bass trombone because i'm quite a small person, but i know not everybody gets on with them.

  • wow mostly consists of 4th and 3rd slide positions!

  • very good.a guy that you can travel with his music spirit

  • Beautiful piece -beautifully played

  • does anyone know where i can get the sheet music for this? ive found it in one place but it was going to be 60 dollars to ship it from switzerland to the US

  • Hickey's Music Center Ithaca NY $39.95

  • Thank you so much. ha Thatll save me some money.

  • who cares?

  • i do, after all its a competition, the way the music is played should matter

  • This is a fantastic piece and I had to search around to find it, once I properly remembered to :D I LOVE this piece :')

  • i love when he plays

  • i love when he plays and my friend plays trombone and playing exactly same as him so my friend going to a good school!

  • Very mature sound from a youngster. That's determination for ya.

  • Peter is guesting with us at the weekend. He came to rehearsal last week and is truly outstanding, he has improved further since this was recorded and is such an unassuming lad too, a credit to his family.

  • I can't wait till he does the tour of Australia, our band is performing with him, gonna be incredible!

  • Hey thats weird.. were the same age.. i play trom.. and my whole family is musical.. ! Woo

! I just got a yamaha professional trombone!

  • damn i hate child prodogies " i realised i wanted to be a profesional trombonist at age 9" wtf grr oh well

  • Anybody knows where I can find the sheet music of this song? I think it's briliant.

  • this is depressing , a 12 year old kid, is better than me, and probably always will be...this sucks

  • yes what a glorious sound!

  • was that him playing arrows of time at the begining??!!

  • i saw him and his brother play yesturday! its amazing i'm like 5 years older than him playing some of the same peices..but lack what he has! amazing

  • is that a rath hes got?

  • it is a Rath handbrace but a Yamaha trombone. ..... I think he has a Rath too. let´s hope he will be going for a Rath, and supports this great trombones. But it has to work for him ofcourse.

  • If you watch NCBB 2007 Dreamcatchers video part 2 Peter plays a duet... with me!!! He is ace!

  • OMG! What sounds and technique, too!

Did you notice he adjusts the slide when going from E-flat down to A-flat? Something you only see in far advanced players!

    WOW!

  • not far advanced..just ones who want to play in tune

  • exactly this isn't a very hard piece.he played it brilliantly and he is an amazing artist.the tone is the obstacle in this song

  • The slow ones are the hardest.

    !go peter =)

hes like the best trombonists in the country.

  • very very true

  • or anyone that has knowledge of the harmonic series or even of their instrument.

  • wow beautiful sound star in the making! great job keep it up!

  • Amazing! Beautiful sound, swift slide and a clever guy as well, keep it up!

  • I must admit that I am jealous that my tone is nothing like that...Incredible piece performed by a gifted young trombonist. Keep giving us a good name kid.

  • yay!!!!

i go 2 school with him!

    woot!

    x

  • I am sure that Peter Moore will be the next Joseph Alessi!!

    Great job!!

  • good anatomic structure... hmm... that's all!! quite rare

  • You are incredible. I can't see anyone playing the piece you performed any better regardless of their age. I'm a retired trombonist and even though I considered myself a very good classically oriented musician I never had anything like what you are demonstrating at your age. I'm in total awe of what you are doing now and cannot even comprehend what you will become!!

  • Just brilliant Peter! So glad we're going to be schoolmates next year!

  • great piece and fantastic playing!

Does anyone know where you can buy this music?

  • Congratulation again ! Mr. Moore.

  • This is an Amazing accomplishment for a young man, who is obviously beyond his years.

We love you here in Canada.

  • Love this piece... trombone playing is not bad either ;-)

  • Great playing, Peter, from a fellow trombone player! Keep loving what you do, and doing what you love. All the best to you!

  • whoa...fantastic tone...good luck on your future endeavours peter!!continue making great music!

  • Wow! amazing tone! I cant believe how good this boy is. I am a 16 year old trombonist. I could reallyuse a tone like that. Can someone explain to me that thing on his left hand, I dont believe I have ever seen anything like that

  • It's a feature proposed by some custom instrument manufacturers, a hand rest mostly used by bass trombonist who constantly have to hold the weight of their big horn on their left hand, and who have 2 of their fingers using the attachments. This sometimes becomes uncomfortable. I know René Hagmann sells a model, probably others do too.

  • well. having an amazing yamaha xeno ysl-882O helps tone ALOT!! GREAT JOB KID!!!

  • my former first chair trombone partner has a xeno. Those things sound amazing. Has a bit of a euphonium + strong brass sound to it. <3

  • Its a thing to keep the trombone on his hand, like a kind of handhold. I play trombone too.

  • Bravo Peter. You are an exemple for me, even I have 25.

  • Congratulations Mr. Moore...what a wonderful tone! Outstanding performance...keep up the great work; you've inspired many young and old!

  • hes going out with my mate

  • 天才

  • I wish I could have made that kind of a sound when I was that young...heck I wouldn't mind it now

  • I think Peter Moore will take the seat of Brett Baker over in London when he is finished. Bravo Peter. Excellent!

  • Fantastique !!!

quel son !! et la musique est là !!

    bravo !!!

  • Fan-flingin-tastic. It's rare that you can say with certainty that someone's going to be successful, but this boy is going to be a success!!

  • This boy is so amazing. I knew this song from the video with Stefan Schulz of the Berlin Philharmonic whom I believe to be on of the greatest trombone players these days. But I'm curious to see how this guy develops.

  • What a beautiful sound this young man makes. When I heard this played I knew it was the winning performance. I wish Peter all the best for the future. I was greatly moved by his playing and felt that the piece was a great choice.

  • what a sik G

  • Beautiful!

  • simplemente excelente. muchacho usted es genial y es admirable lo que hace. siga asi. excelente.aqui vemos a un propio niño prodigio.

  • Amazing. bravo Peter.you are simply the best.

  • what a remarkable and lovely tone! Listening to this in such a young age makes me certain that Mr. Moore will be playing in any symphony he wants someday

  • Gran talento de este niño un verdadero prodigio del trombón,sigue adelante haciendo buena música, suban mas videos de Peter Moore, gracias.

  • If I could play like that, I would be pretty damn chuffed with myself. Our bandmaster has started using him as an example.

  • Is that him playing Arrows of Time in the background at the beginning?

  • As a trombone player, he well outperforms anyone I've heard - especially at his age. Well done matey - keep it up!!!

  • To be that good at twelve is practically unheard of! I wish him all the best in his career.

  • That 12 year old kicks some major butt!

  • Great intonation!!
