  • Well i would first like to say that i conducted this ensemble and yes the camera made alot of the sound distorted. As you can see the stage is not set up for an ensemble to play on, this was a set from a play that our theatre department just did the night before, it was towards the end of semester and we had to kind of get in where we fit in. Ex. Our tuba section was way up top of the stage. We got very high ratings on this performance from our local peers and professionals.

  • overall not a good performance...missed entrances, intonation problems in the brass, and just a bad performance

  • This was a bad recording of us!! STOP HATING!!! We did not sound BAD!

  • good job overall, but i wish they took it slower at the beginning, its supposed to be largo :/

  • Agreed... but I personally think Prelude and Rondo is a tough song for BOTH high school AND college bands... it may be a Grade 4.5, but I think that it deserves higher...

  • I thought that it was a grade five and no one has answered the last part why put the video on if you thought it was a bad recording?

  • I'm pretty sure it's a Grade 4.5 that is begging to be made a 5...

Well, I'll give you credit for that... also, NOBODY on YouTube conducts it in the style that I prefer... SLOW beginning- the trumpets should hold that High A for at least 4 full seconds- and almost rushing during the Rondo... as for the quality, that more than likely came from a cell phone with a fairly decent camera- nevertheless, most cell phones corrupt sound after recording...

  • that explains the quality agument agian but still WHY they made there band sound bad with this recording if they thought that it was a bad recording

  • They probably didn't realize it was going to be this bad... I know that I still use my cell phone camera and I KNOW I regret it soon afterward...

  • no i also think its the quality. this a college band and it is in tune and everything is perfect except for the blasting.

  • Its more than likely the sound quality of the camera.

  • no I don't think so the picture is to clear for it to be a poor sound card.

and why would they post if it was a bad recording?

  • GO STATE!!!
