  • NEIL ON!

  • chateau ste michelle

    glamping with squatch

  • I think Neil is a genius, but this solo was waaaaay too long. He wore down the audience!

  • I wonder how many pieces he has in his kit? Anyone know?

  • @SnoopDoggTWO 11 acoustic drums, 9 electronic drums, two trigger pedals, a MIDI marimba, 13 cymbals, 4 electronic cymbals, 1 electronic hihat, 5 (I think) cowbells, and a bunch of hardware. Hope that helps.

  • Whoever was working the camera here sucks... makes me dizzy.... focus and just stay there ... shit... bounce, left, right, right, up, down, up again, left, left, left, right... down... ugh....

  • hahaha gotta love neil peart... but he looks kinda pissed when comes to solo drumming haha

  • ALL THAT'S MISSING IS THE vHROOM

  • of course Rush could make shit audio quality sound amazing :D

  • Geedy's parents was from poland. I am proud, that i am "polak" :D.

  • are the chickens people too afraid to become devout christians? (hence the mark?)

  • @noodlesmealey no its because alex has a bunch of amps behind him so geddy got jealous and wanted something behind him so he got chicken roasters

  • Comment removed

  • Geddy's bass looks like Jaco's.

  • @SidVicious10101 because on Maligant Narcissaim he uses the jaco fretless bass, this is the only time i belive he uses it

  • @hitopsful Oh, well that would make sense. Thanks for clearing that up!!

  • rush is and always will be my favorite band because they have intelligent lyrics, they flow as smoothly as a well oiled machine, and because i,ve always wanted to get into Neal Peart's head! yes i am almost 40 and i still have a crush on this Canadian percussionist. His passion and experiences have brought me through alot! Thanks guys!especially you Neal!

  • @PeaceableKingdom777 - is it that hard to spell Neil Peart's name correctly? I mean, being a "fan" and all...

  • Peart's solo during the Snakes and Arrows tour was among the best I ever saw.

  • Floyd Rose tremolo on a Les Paul.... Nice Alex

  • the bass in this song is immense

  • What bass is ged using here ?

  • Neil Peart is the first name in rock drumming; he owns the patent on progressive and technical drumming. I want to be like Neil.

  • the drum solo is called de slagwerker, its on the snakes and arrows live album

  • His drumming trancends time. He has such a unique and complex style it gives me chills how good he can put a beat togeather! Not to mention his songwriting skills!

  • @1:03 the smoke makes it look like its coming from the guitar, hahahahah, quite epic tbh :P

  • Absolutely mind-blowing masterpiece. These guys are beasts in concert, true rock gods.

La Villa Strangiato, YYZ and Malignant Narcissism are the best rock instrumentals of all time. RUSH RULES THE GALAXY!

  • SLAPPA DA BASS MON

  • holy shitballs

  • i hear from some people " o yeh he's good, BUT... i know studio drummers that are much better..." not a chance although studio drummers may have more technique, if that even, neil peart is probably the most solid, unbelievably talented drummer/musician to ever grace this lifetime of rock and roll

  • Does someone have any idea why Rush puts clothes dryers and snack machines out on their stages during live performances?

  • @thx1966 cause geddy now connects his bass to the venue's PA system directly instead of using amps, so now he fills his "side" of the stage with random items so it doesn't look empty, plus it's awesome

  • @thx1966 It's a Canadian thing....

  • My 21st birthday was the last one I looked forward to.

  • WHAT a preformance by the greatest/strongest band ever formed. Makes me proud to be CANADIAN/ a musician and live so close to where they did (smack in the middle actually)

  • If Neil Peart is Tom Hanks brother, then why do they have differnt last names??

  • @dwilmer7 same mother, different fathers.... dahh

  • WTF?! How? Neil is from another planet...

  • Duuuuude, I was there!

  • the canadien flag should not be a leaf, it should have a picture of rush

  • @Basspowns Or at least the Midnight Star and man from the 2112 album.

  • nice big kit. i had to learn this stuff on a five peice. and glad i did. : )

  • so is geddy still not using bass amplification? it sounds amazing! i might do the same but without the chickens cooking in the background. i cant believe they actually mic those up!

  • @topcat2726 This tour he will use orange bass amps

  • That place is fucking loud.

  • Peart makes that look easy. Easy enough for me to want to try it, but I know I would fail miserably.

  • saw them at Newcastle out of this word....still......

  • @vn15001 I was there also. Awesome!!!

  • Thanks for the view of a true wonder of the world.

  • badass. thats all there is to say really.

  • Amazing.

  • Ladies and Gentlemen,,,,,,,The professor on the Drum Kit!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The first song is malignant narcissism, the drum solo is think called de stagwerker, and the jazzy song at the end is cotton tail.

  • Thats my man! Listen to that Crowd!! I love it!! Hell Yeah!

  • neil peart is the fucking man!

  • The dumbass filming it said,"drum solo comin up." He forgot to say, "Geddy about to RIP!!!!"

  • RUSH

  • When I see theese guys, I'm suddenly not afraid anymore to get old(er)...

  • Its so true... if these guys Rock like they do at there age ,well i dont feel so bad about growing older or getting into a band all over again .I LOVED IT !

  • @runningraidfive you're certainlly right dude!

  • @runningraidfive Damn! I was just about to make the same comment! hahaha!

  • @runningraidfive

    i know right

  • @runningraidfive That's rad

  • crazy

  • Jesus! Neil can sure hit those drums!

Greatest drummer of all time, greatest BAND

  • Hold the fucking camera still! Jesus CHRIST!

  • "If attacked on some vulnerable point by anyone or anything or any organization, always find or manufacture enough threat against them to cause them to sue for peace. Peace is bought with an exchange of advantage, so make the advantage and then settle. Don't ever defend. Always attack. Don't ever do nothing. Unexpected attacks in the rear of the enemy's front ranks work best." - L. Ron Hubbard, Hubbard Communications Office Policy Letter, "Department of Governmental Affairs", 15 Aug 1960

  • He couldn't, Rush rocked the shit out of the crowd! :)

  • The amazing thing about this is that he is not even trying!

  • jeah, wow, great pleasure!!!

    neil is fantastic !!!

  • Oh My GOD!!!!!!!! I WAS THERE!!!

    Thanks!!!!

  • The awesome thing about Neil is that hes still getting better at the drums. constantly adding things to his fucking amazing solo. but i gotta say there's nothing better then a 8 minute solo

  • 02:03 gets my dick hard everytime.

  • Hahahaha!!! nice!

  • Greatest percussionist ever. Period!

  • i like neil's duality. aprehensive about humanity, but compelled to entertain. read his book. neil is a many layered genius.

  • greatest drummer in the universe.

  • Perfection.

  • this was at manchester, UK on the 14th sept, I was there!! best nite of my life! :)

  • Montreal stupid!

  • he is the best one man show

  • GIOVANI22 fUCK YOU FROM AN ANNOYING FRENCH.RESPEC?

  • Probably the best thing ever Canadian-made

  • True that my friend!

  • @gking407 and avril lavigne

  • @gking407 Probably the best thing ever made ^fixed :P

  • it sayd the montreal bell centre in the description jackass

  • i am very much english... where do you get that i'm french??

  • keep it up you little prick

  • you guys are like the comic duo abbott and costello, ladies and gentlemen the comidic stylings of giovani and raynes. you guys made my day, ty

  • i just bought the snakes and arrows live dvd , the 3cd one, it's amazing , go buy it if your getting into rush or you love them!

  • They should rename THIS VIDEO "MALIGNANT NOISE" I THINK HIS MUSIC KILLED THE CHICKENS!!

  • Neil Peart... still got it.

  • No, it's not fretless. In a recent interview, Geddy said he don't like to play in fretless bass and Fender made a "specially fretted" Pastorius bass for him. Cool... but, sincerely, I don't like this song...

  • he owns a fretless Jaco Pastorius model (the one he uses for this song live and on the album) and a fretted version.

  • Aside from everything else...Geddy is playing a fretless Jaco Pastorius model Fender Jazz...how cool is that?

  • how many people bought drum sets because of Neil Peart?

  • a hundred of billions of men

  • simply the best

  • ...Is that a rack of Rotisseries on the stage?

  • yes

  • duh

  • what of stupid question. OF COURSE theres chicken rotisseries on the stage. why wouldnt there be?

  • I saw the encore june, 12 2008 at the bell center!

  • I loved the drum solo to this rush instumental.

  • simply the best

  • Armen is a fucking 9 year old. hes good for a kid, but he couldnt keep a beat like neil to save his life. That kid has technical skills, no beat though.

  • actually hes around 25 or somethin look him up and find the video like: 9th annual somethin or whatever

  • All I have to say is you all fail. Any pro drummer? Yeah, right. They could all do the solo, but the solo does NOT reflect the talent of the drummer, at ALL. What DOES, is the beats in the songs. Peart does more complex beats than nearly anyone out there in his songs.

  • Well, Mike Portnoy tried to replicate one of Peart's solos and failed terribly. A solo is a personal approach towards drumming. Like a fine painting, it is not something to replicate.

  • the rev can suck peart's dick, he's so overrated

  • who is better?

  • I never even heard of the other two drummers... They should step up their game if they even want to mention the professor.

  • I was there!

  • STFU PEOPLE I WANT TO HEAR HIS DRUM SOLO :D

Seriously, his my favorite drummer... It was Chris Adler before, but now, it is Neil Peart.

  • BRUTAL

  • man he went totally buddy rich style for a minute there

  • this probably proves that neil is the best drummer of all time

  • the professor's class??? :O

  • I like the slow section in 3.

Is that supposed to be instead of the waltz?

  • that is the waltz just done with that cha cha trigger instead of the tamborine or hi-hat

  • now it is easy to say hes the best drummer, hes got the best of everything. as a all rounder hes best. beautiful solo, never boring, this is good music. better rock trio, no, best band in the world, with pink floyd, eloy and tangerine dream. and king crimson as top 5 of all time.

  • i know this has been argued before, but is there any better rock trio than Rush??

  • probably cream is the only close one. i reckon rush is better but they were inspired by cream so yeh

  • i like alex`s barbie dolls lol

  • immortal...........Neil's been through hell and back to show us he's stronger than ever

  • i think for the next tour neil needs to add some new stuff to his solo, he's been doin alot of the same stuff just in different order for the past number of tours, keep some parts, but add some new things maybe, other that.....amazing...

  • he wen't with a more asian style on the roland

  • more rolls than a bread shop, his expressionless face with such brutal stick attacks, fucking awesome shit

  • I saw them about a week after this show...when that swing movement kicked in, i lost it. that was effin awesome, definitely one of the highlights of the night for me

  • barman184 thanks for posting. Great video of a great band.

  • It's truly amazing what Neil Peart can do with just 2 hand and the largest drum set i have ever seen, its almost physically impossible to do all of it with just one person

  • if u dont think this amazing u have got to be smokin sometin

  • puta q es weno este wn...!

neil peart no te mueras nunca!!!

  • Holy shit!!! i was at glasgow on the 3rd of october - Best night of my life lol

  • LOL MAN UR FUNIZ!!!!

  • Well it does... kinda sounds like my car does.....

  • neil peart é um ótimo baterista, muitas pessoas dizem que ele é o melhor do mundo, mas na minha opinião ele não é o melhor do mundo.Vou citar 3 bateristas que humilham neil peart:

    1-Kiko Freitas

    2-Horacio "El Negro" Hernandez

    3-Simon Phillips

  • No gong at the end???

  • Yeah I know it seems different with out that gong at the end like in the R30 tour or in the Vapor Trails.

  • I was waiting for that too...

  • OMG I WAS AT THIS SHOW! on april 15 at the amway center in orlando-best concert ive ever went to

  • you damn sure should be, I can tell ya it's a damn great concert! and so is the band!

  • OMG I am glad I am going to the Irvine concert on May 11.

  • seriously, does anyone know how or where to get that Snakes and Arrows shirt Neil is wearing? Ive been looking all over for it. Thats the nicest Rush shirt Ive seen in a long time. Love how Geddy is wearing the 'Kings shirt too. They are soo cocky, and know their music kicks so much ass, they wear their stuff. Rush is the best. Period!

  • i love the geddy walks on the stage! thats hilarious!

  • ...he has the nerve to flick his stick in his left hand twice whilst playing the final few seconds of one o' clock jump...

  • John was a big influence on Neil. As was Keith Moon and many others. However, when you look at what Neil has achieved in the Modern Drummer Hall Of Fame and also what he has shown to millions live...he's way above anyone on the planet.

  • Rush is just the top of the line as far as music goes, and when i saw them u know it blew me away ive watched ther dvds of concerts and they were awsome , but thers nothing like going to one, if u get a chance got and see them again, im so pissed of that i cant again, but if they change that montreal date one day before ill Be there, all i can do is hope. Rush is the band of The Melenium and thatll never change

  • im sorry you people might disagree with me but im not gonna lie. neil peart kicks john bonhams ass at drums. im not being biased at all but i really think neil is so much better

  • i agree. bonhams good but neil peart is indescribably good. a couple words might help though, epic, legendary, amazing, incredible.

  • I think back in Zeppelins hayday, they were even, but Peart has had so much more time to develop that he has just sky rocketed past what Bonham ever was

  • well even bonham was still alive, neil would be better than him to this day.

  • I think back in Zeppelins hayday, they were even, but Peart has had so much more time to develop that he has just sky rocketed past what Bonham ever was

  • The cameraman is spasmodic :P

  • It's moving to see that he's gone back to matched, with some traditional in there, while retaining the circular motion playing vs playing straight through. An artist's style is their identity and it seemed to me he was challenged by his loss and needed a change, but was ultimately true to himself because playing matched is his style and there's certainly nothing amateur about it.

  • yeah that's true.. no drummer would have been anything without Buddy.. Rest in peace!

great video, great song, great band, greater solo! xD was at the Rush concert in sweden, and damn that was the best concert I've ever been one !

Neil Peart, Alex Lifeson and Geddy Lee has enriched music extremely much!

  • I loved it when he paid tribute to drumers like Gene Krupa, Buddy Rich, Art Blakey at the End. No drumers would have been where they are now without them. Every drumer should at least have one album of These pionners. Thanks for the Video and the memories.

  • lol i had goose bumps when he starts playin bass

too fuckin awesome ! i saw them on the eve of this one, in Quebec City

    keep it up !

  • cant wait to see them again when they go back on the s/a tour

  • I saw this...RUSH IS THE BEST!

  • No puedo morir sin antes ver a RUSH
