Whoever was working the camera here sucks... makes me dizzy.... focus and just stay there ... shit... bounce, left, right, right, up, down, up again, left, left, left, right... down... ugh....
rush is and always will be my favorite band because they have intelligent lyrics, they flow as smoothly as a well oiled machine, and because i,ve always wanted to get into Neal Peart's head! yes i am almost 40 and i still have a crush on this Canadian percussionist. His passion and experiences have brought me through alot! Thanks guys!especially you Neal!
His drumming trancends time. He has such a unique and complex style it gives me chills how good he can put a beat togeather! Not to mention his songwriting skills!
i hear from some people " o yeh he's good, BUT... i know studio drummers that are much better..." not a chance although studio drummers may have more technique, if that even, neil peart is probably the most solid, unbelievably talented drummer/musician to ever grace this lifetime of rock and roll
@thx1966 cause geddy now connects his bass to the venue's PA system directly instead of using amps, so now he fills his "side" of the stage with random items so it doesn't look empty, plus it's awesome
WHAT a preformance by the greatest/strongest band ever formed. Makes me proud to be CANADIAN/ a musician and live so close to where they did (smack in the middle actually)
so is geddy still not using bass amplification? it sounds amazing! i might do the same but without the chickens cooking in the background. i cant believe they actually mic those up!
Its so true... if these guys Rock like they do at there age ,well i dont feel so bad about growing older or getting into a band all over again .I LOVED IT !
"If attacked on some vulnerable point by anyone or anything or any organization, always find or manufacture enough threat against them to cause them to sue for peace. Peace is bought with an exchange of advantage, so make the advantage and then settle. Don't ever defend. Always attack. Don't ever do nothing. Unexpected attacks in the rear of the enemy's front ranks work best." - L. Ron Hubbard, Hubbard Communications Office Policy Letter, "Department of Governmental Affairs", 15 Aug 1960
The awesome thing about Neil is that hes still getting better at the drums. constantly adding things to his fucking amazing solo. but i gotta say there's nothing better then a 8 minute solo
No, it's not fretless. In a recent interview, Geddy said he don't like to play in fretless bass and Fender made a "specially fretted" Pastorius bass for him. Cool... but, sincerely, I don't like this song...
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I will admit he does have some of the most variety in his drums but then again he has a set surrounding him full of bells and keyboards and whatnot=/ any other pro drummer could do it.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
meh. whats the point of having all those toms behind him=/ he's good but he's not the best=/ Bet the rev could take him and Jacob Armen would beath both of them put togetherXD
Armen is a fucking 9 year old. hes good for a kid, but he couldnt keep a beat like neil to save his life. That kid has technical skills, no beat though.
All I have to say is you all fail. Any pro drummer? Yeah, right. They could all do the solo, but the solo does NOT reflect the talent of the drummer, at ALL. What DOES, is the beats in the songs. Peart does more complex beats than nearly anyone out there in his songs.
Well, Mike Portnoy tried to replicate one of Peart's solos and failed terribly. A solo is a personal approach towards drumming. Like a fine painting, it is not something to replicate.
now it is easy to say hes the best drummer, hes got the best of everything. as a all rounder hes best. beautiful solo, never boring, this is good music. better rock trio, no, best band in the world, with pink floyd, eloy and tangerine dream. and king crimson as top 5 of all time.
i think for the next tour neil needs to add some new stuff to his solo, he's been doin alot of the same stuff just in different order for the past number of tours, keep some parts, but add some new things maybe, other that.....amazing...
