Plz if anyone knows there is a live dvd from any of the Lizzy concerts with Sykes - Please get back to me - totally missed out on this but it´s great!!!
..somebody wanna tell me whats the deal with futzing around with his controls all the time?..pickups on/off...tone/volume knobs...is it a nervous thing???..for real tho..
All due respect to everyone there on the stage, Great drums & bass & Johns certainly having a blast n all.. but Scott is class.. Vintage.. Phil's right hand man from almost the beginning.. 'Bad Reputation' you know...
I think Scott should do some one off shows perhaps, with Wayne from Limehouse Lizzy..
@tutakar there is actually a new 6 piece line up.........Ricky Warwick (the almighty) vocals+guitar.....vivian campbell-guitar....brian downey-drums....darren wharton -keys.....marco mendoza-bass.....scott gorham-guitar.
@tutakar I agree about Wayne from Limehouse lizzy. his vocals are amazing and would be great to see him play with original members. its a shame Scott plays a strat now though.
Ya know. He's such an amazing guitar player. But he's such a fucking asshole that he's ALWAYS going to be playing county fairs and baked goods get togethers. Shut up and play your guitar John. The music scene looks pretty grim and your attitude wont get you work.
the guy on drums is michael lee who played with robert plant and also a band called the little angels sadly michael passed away over 12 months ago a brilliant drummer

I met Lizzy once. Had a chat. Perfect gentelmen all of them. Some of the really good guys in the world. Not like them bastard politicians and bankers.
Why shouldn't this band tour as Thin Lizzy? I am pretty sure that Phil would be pretty ticked knowing that half of his old fan base are dissing on his old band.
A band is a whole creation and not the sum of it's parts. Chances are, Phil would approve and be happy that the band is continuing and that his music is not being forgotten.
@lostboysonbikes Even if Scott is the only member in the band from the classic lineup, Thin Lizzy was a milestone in his life, and it was HIS band TOO. You can't tell someone what to do with the remains of his past. I think i would do the same.
Awesome performance. Im particularly impressed with Scott Gorham. He played his best when teamed up with Sykes. Thin Lizzy should have put out a followup or 3 to Thunder and Lightning. I woulda prefered that way more than Sykes w/ Whitesnake.
i seen lizzy live in salthill, Galway the same year fucking savage show, they were playing in a small venue and nearly leveled the place with the noise ha ha
and i know it's not the same without phil but john sykes is great live, take my word for it ☺
I asked John about his sound and he told me that he used some old 70 'tys Marshalls and a cabel that's it !!! and it sounds Brutal even on Youtube :-)
I agree that that this is really a Thin Lizzy tribute band without the late, great Phil Lynott. But let's critique the music for what it is. I was too young to see Thin Lizzy when they toured with Lynott, and I am glad John Sykes and Scott Gorham took the initiative to keep Phil's music available to us in live form. I saw this band in 2004, and it was not about John Sykes and his band - it was about Phil Lynott and his legacy. John Sykes & Co. do an admirable job of honoring Lynott. Thanks!
love sykes on guitar/vocal with his very english accent. but phil had a more agressive low tone for singing this. and thats the version of the song i love, this is great though
i can't believe how good they are! amazing, the 2 guys in front have been in the original thin lizzy so this is great, to see these songs live again is what phil would have wanted i'm sure they are great songs they should be blassed out rock on!
i have to admit this isnt my favorite version of cold sweat but i still liked it allot and thin lizzy is one of my favorite bands i found this vid awsome thanx
Well Gary is on his blues stuff so I wouldn't bet on him. Robbo-Downey-Gorham-then they should steal Wayne Ellis from Limehouse Lizzy for bass/vocals. Should be some thunder with this tribute guy.
agree sykes is an amazing vocalist and guitarist he just fucking sucks at making thin lizzy heavy metal when they are classic rock or rock n roll. if ya gonna be in thin lizzy sound like thin lizzy.
I agree dude. LIzzy is rock, not metal. But Sykes is gone.... So maybe this is the end. I don't mind if they play like this, but not under the name of Thin Lizzy. The only post Lizzy gig I've seen that was great was the statue tribute gig with Moore and Downey - done in good taste and not as a money grabber.
I have to agree with Axeman2006. He does make a mistake on the solo when he's hammering on and tries to comes back on track after that. Good to know that even some of the best guitar players make mistakes :)
Could you have done it any better? =) Don't think so ;) The solos doesn't have to be spot on and perfect every time, this is still an awesome performance =)
Michael Lee died on 24 November 2008 from an epileptic seizure aged 39. He was found dead in his flat and his funeral took place in his hometown of Darlington the following week.(wikipedia):(
I think technically they've improved this song if only Phil was around to provide lyrics (although as I type that the end doesn't sound that great which was my favourite part of this song)
