  • :56 fuck you!!

  • This band just Rocks. The Quality is to good for a hand -held Camera.

This is a pro-recording. This is how I like my videos.

  • I photographed Thin Lizzy in 77 when they opened for Queen. To see the shots go to 70srockphotos (.com)

  • REALLY want a les paul custom now.

  • He has his money in a suitcase...wouldn't it be safer in a bank? :P Love this song.

  • Fuck ya! I love it when this song gets stuck in my head. I think I'm gonna learn it

  • Nobody asks Robbo for his opinion...

  • This SUCKS!

  • ...still..the man futzes with his guitar too much...why??...its like a nervous habit..no disrespect, but...some insight, please...

  • listen folks!, I met sykes last year (my favorite axe man), very disapointed, what a wanker!

  • And not an Irishman on stage

  • Plz if anyone knows there is a live dvd from any of the Lizzy concerts with Sykes - Please get back to me - totally missed out on this but it´s great!!!

  • förjävla skööööönt

  • ..somebody wanna tell me whats the deal with futzing around with his controls all the time?..pickups on/off...tone/volume knobs...is it a nervous thing???..for real tho..

  • 0.58...don dokken rippin...lol

  • VERY , VERY GOOD !!!

  • God I <3 everything John Sykes does...what an artist!

  • this guys kick drum sounds godlike, i love john sykes, i am sure that phil is proud of sykes doing thin lizzy

  • @vanhalen515084 Sykes quit the band last year........Michael Lee the drummer died a couple of years ago.

  • They do a good job of it, no-one but no-one can do it like phil though, wot a funky angel he woz! RIP Phil xxx

  • All due respect to everyone there on the stage, Great drums & bass & Johns certainly having a blast n all.. but Scott is class.. Vintage.. Phil's right hand man from almost the beginning.. 'Bad Reputation' you know...

I think Scott should do some one off shows perhaps, with Wayne from Limehouse Lizzy..

  • @tutakar there is actually a new 6 piece line up.........Ricky Warwick (the almighty) vocals+guitar.....vivian campbell-guitar....brian downey-drums....darren wharton -keys.....marco mendoza-bass.....scott gorham-guitar.

  • @tutakar I agree about Wayne from Limehouse lizzy. his vocals are amazing and would be great to see him play with original members. its a shame Scott plays a strat now though.

  • @tutakar

big time.... seen limehouse lizzy few years ago in ireland, got their autographs.. goin to london in december to see em..

  • @tutakar you got it right, i am a sykes freek, but gorham is totally thin lizzy,

  • Not the best version of this song or Johns best version of the solo .... Shame cause hes usually awesome .....

  • Where the fuck at in my state of Texas was this at?????!!! I want details.

  • Ya know. He's such an amazing guitar player. But he's such a fucking asshole that he's ALWAYS going to be playing county fairs and baked goods get togethers. Shut up and play your guitar John. The music scene looks pretty grim and your attitude wont get you work.

  • this ain't fuck*n Thin Lizzy.........

  • Where is this at in Texas?

  • im happy just to see Scott Gorham in the band, from the classic lineup. is that Brian behind the drums?

  • the guy on the drums is michael lee who played with robert plant also played in a band called the little angels..sadly michael died last year

  • the guy on drums is michael lee who played with robert plant and also played with a band called the little angels..sadly michael passed away over 12 months ago...great drummer

  • Awesome!!!! Meet the Band in Stockholm @ our hotel and caught there gig in Vegas!!! Great Guys-Great Music-Phil would be proud.

  • I met Lizzy once. Had a chat. Perfect gentelmen all of them. Some of the really good guys in the world. Not like them bastard politicians and bankers.

  • Why shouldn't this band tour as Thin Lizzy? I am pretty sure that Phil would be pretty ticked knowing that half of his old fan base are dissing on his old band.

A band is a whole creation and not the sum of it's parts. Chances are, Phil would approve and be happy that the band is continuing and that his music is not being forgotten.

  • Well said, well said.

  • So some of you don't want them to be successful? i thought you guys like this band?

    stupid fan logic

  • Not fantastic, its pure kelp, Phil nor the the original fire is there, its a very sad cover version

  • @lostboysonbikes Even if Scott is the only member in the band from the classic lineup, Thin Lizzy was a milestone in his life, and it was HIS band TOO. You can't tell someone what to do with the remains of his past. I think i would do the same.

  • NO PHILL = NO THIN LIZZY

  • excatly

  • fantastic

  • impresionante tema, que glorioso sos phil lynnot, buena version sykesssss!!

  • Amazing live solo !!!

  • Awesome performance. Im particularly impressed with Scott Gorham. He played his best when teamed up with Sykes. Thin Lizzy should have put out a followup or 3 to Thunder and Lightning. I woulda prefered that way more than Sykes w/ Whitesnake.

  • i seen lizzy live in salthill, Galway the same year fucking savage show, they were playing in a small venue and nearly leveled the place with the noise ha ha

and i know it's not the same without phil but john sykes is great live, take my word for it ☺

  • This is the real shit !

I asked John about his sound and he told me that he used some old 70 'tys Marshalls and a cabel that's it !!! and it sounds Brutal even on Youtube :-)

  • Tragedy!

This is J.S.'s band, not Thin Lizzy!!!!

    Thin Lizzy = Phil Lynott

  • I agree that that this is really a Thin Lizzy tribute band without the late, great Phil Lynott. But let's critique the music for what it is. I was too young to see Thin Lizzy when they toured with Lynott, and I am glad John Sykes and Scott Gorham took the initiative to keep Phil's music available to us in live form. I saw this band in 2004, and it was not about John Sykes and his band - it was about Phil Lynott and his legacy. John Sykes & Co. do an admirable job of honoring Lynott. Thanks!

  • Thin Lizzy = Scott Gorham

  • love sykes on guitar/vocal with his very english accent. but phil had a more agressive low tone for singing this. and thats the version of the song i love, this is great though

  • Right, thin Lizzy is phil lynott. that is not thin lizzy.

  • without the original vocalist this band is nothing

  • rip micheal lee

  • i can't believe how good they are! amazing, the 2 guys in front have been in the original thin lizzy so this is great, to see these songs live again is what phil would have wanted i'm sure they are great songs they should be blassed out rock on!

  • johns voice sound alot like phills..awesome,..always loved lizzy....

  • this is my favorite thin lizzy song and thin lizzy is one of my favorite songs so thx for that u rock

  • i have to admit this isnt my favorite version of cold sweat but i still liked it allot and thin lizzy is one of my favorite bands i found this vid awsome thanx

  • This is from Mardi Gras festival concert in Galveston TX 2-21-04. Deep Purple came on next. Great job on the audio and video!

  • It would be great to see Gary back in the band with Scott. I'd like to see Tommy back as well.

  • Just found out Sykes quit but fuck it, maybe now they can get Robbo and Brian Downey back in the band.

  • They will need a singer though.....my money is on Gary Moore LOL.

  • Well Gary is on his blues stuff so I wouldn't bet on him. Robbo-Downey-Gorham-then they should steal Wayne Ellis from Limehouse Lizzy for bass/vocals. Should be some thunder with this tribute guy.

  • @brox68 i think gary moore is too busy with his on goin career atm. Perhaps he will help them out for a year.

  • @brox68 too bad that wont happen RIP Gary

  • @zw331 ........sad news, pretty shocked to hear that he has passed away ........RIP Gary Moore

  • agree sykes is an amazing vocalist and guitarist he just fucking sucks at making thin lizzy heavy metal when they are classic rock or rock n roll. if ya gonna be in thin lizzy sound like thin lizzy.

  • You gotta admit, this song has an awesome main riff.

  • I agree dude. LIzzy is rock, not metal. But Sykes is gone.... So maybe this is the end. I don't mind if they play like this, but not under the name of Thin Lizzy. The only post Lizzy gig I've seen that was great was the statue tribute gig with Moore and Downey - done in good taste and not as a money grabber.

  • Great sound quality, Thanks!

  • phil was very strict, his idea's musically are what you hear, its good to hear they lads spin on things.

    me likes.

  • scott gorham is the shit !! still rocking at 60 YEAHHHHHHHH

  • he is fast lane rocker great

  • All hail Sykes...The guy didnt give up on the band, and still rocking. Now that's a true example of TRUE musician.

  • God dammit Sykes can still make that axe squeal like a pig... sweet!

  • Wish i had his hair !!!! never mind his giutar skills

  • How old are ya Sykesy lad....??....

Get a hair cut ya scruffy bugger!

    hahaha.

He was THAT good even when he was in The Tigers!! Fookin awesome!!

  • SYKES!!

  • he writes the solo and gets it wrong who teh fuck messes up tehyre own solo's?????

  • Everyone makes mistakes.

  • He never plays it live like he did on the album. Not since this version of Thin Lizzy started playing anyway. This is just his live version.

  • Probably the same person who can't spell or type properly.

  • pants

  • He's got such natural speed in his fingers. I loe watching him play. Always been one of my top three guitarists.

  • I have to agree with Axeman2006. He does make a mistake on the solo when he's hammering on and tries to comes back on track after that. Good to know that even some of the best guitar players make mistakes :)

  • There was nothing wrong with the solo. It's live, a little rough at the edges, but the shredding is nasty.

  • Gorham's still got it.

  • Oh my fuck! He sucks donkey dick.

Almost as bad as the Metallica (spit) cover of Whiskey in the Jar.

  • I don't mean to be negative but,

    Sykes kinda shlocked the solo

Sounds like it was too fast for him...

He even tapped the wrong notes!!!

Respect but, tell it like it is

    Peace

  • Could you have done it any better? =) Don't think so ;) The solos doesn't have to be spot on and perfect every time, this is still an awesome performance =)

  • S Y K E S ! S Y K E S !
  • this is the shit, roll it up smoke it, sykes rocks

  • holy shit. . great drummer

  • michael lee died? how? when ?

  • Michael Lee died on 24 November 2008 from an epileptic seizure aged 39. He was found dead in his flat and his funeral took place in his hometown of Darlington the following week.(wikipedia):(

  • Great!!!!!!!!!!

    I LOVE JOHNSYKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great Great vid

    FIVE

BTW: Michael Lee GREAT GREAT drummer

    R.I.P

  • Just heard drummer Michael Lee died 24th

    November aged 39...R.I.P.

  • The pinch harmonics arn't as bad-ass as in the studio version

  • not as raw as the studio one, but still great!

  • you can't get any heavier than this song!!!

2 things i know for sure whenever i watch thin lizzy - that sykes will bequeath us with his awesome rhythm, and scott will blaze with his solo style!

great boys! phil would love you to continue to carry on and on!

  • Damn!

I really want to see them.

  • Amen, the band has died, and its like a zombie in the music business. With out phil, its nothing.

  • John Sykes rocks!!!

I saw them four days ago, and they just rocked!!!

  • Sykes does a great job singing like Phil! Very similar :)

  • Jorne Lande on the Ayreon cd 01011001 sounds very much like Phil. Otherwise he has more of a Coverdale or Dio sound. What a voice!

  • I think technically they've improved this song if only Phil was around to provide lyrics (although as I type that the end doesn't sound that great which was my favourite part of this song)

  • HE FUCKED UP ON THE GREATEST PART OF THE SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but still sounds amazing

  • John Sykes was probably the Zakk Wylde of his day, and you can see where Zakk gets many of his chops

  • wooooooooow ¡¡¡¡

    waaaaaaaaaaaw

    my God ¡¡

    FIVE thousand

  • awesome

  • Saw this lineup the same year this footage was taken (opening act for Deep Purple... probably the best night of Rock N Roll in my life lol!) There was no way I couldn't air guitar to this one!!

  • fucking awesome!!!

  • John sykes is best

  • this is what i like to see.

  • Still Sounds Great 25 years Later!

  • hellfire!!! this is superb video!!! wowowowow - great sound and visuals!
