I'd like to add that these lttle chihuahuas really pack a nasty bite if they want to... In spite of all that 'ferocious' display and threatening behaviour the dog does NOT bite the lady in the video. Not once. I cannot get enuff of this vid! lmao!
Thank you everyone. We absolutely love Killer, he's the baby in the family and spoiled rotten. He's had a couple of health problems the last month or two but those seem to be straightened out.
I thought I just watched a video of my Chi. She looks exactly the same and does the same thing. She loves my son and protects him just like that. It's not bad behavior, it's instinct.

my dog is doing almost the same thing,she does not growl but bark's and bite's very lightly so you feel her teeth lightly but she will not bite through when it is between me and my partner.but if a stranger wants to hurt me (Or my partner), then she'll bite hard ,I am sure of that.I actually encourage that , because I want her to be able defend me if someone hurts me.not that I can not defend myself,but extra help is always welcome
People Chihuahua's are protective and they are not mean , please dont go telling people how they should or should not treat their dog when they are not abusive. They love their dog and the dog loves them as you can see.
When I was a teen living with my parents in Florida, we rescued a stray pitbull that we named George. He grew to 93 pounds of well-defined muscle, but was 100% sweetheart, When my Dad would pretend to hit my Mom, George would get between them and snap at my Dad, while backing up against my Mom trying to push her away. George was trying to defend her, but would end up knocking her back off her feet. He would have probably torn a real attacker to pieces, but he was too gentle to hurt any of us.
He acts like that when anyone is "hit" in our house. He's actually very sweet, very loving and very meek... until he thinks someone is being attacked.
Oddly, if someone in the house is spanked, he doesn't come around. So he knows the difference between "serious business" and horsing around.
He's a pretty good dog all around. We're real lucky with him. He doesn't shiver or yap and his eyes aren't all watery.
I don't know that he's competing with attention because he gets upset if the youngest is spanked and will start hopping around and barking. He's also fairly sensitive if I or the youngest have a migraine, and will station himself on the pillow next to the head.

The dog isn't defending Tom from you, he's blocking you from playing with Tom. That's called competing for attention, I'm certain of this. That means that killer probably sees you as an equal or subordinate, which I've heard is not a good thing.
