  • end of january and begin march i will use the train from arnhem to dusseldorf for first time. im curious, will be my first trip on the ICE :)

  • i love these trains they are really and truly german electrics built by seamans body built by adtranz and bombardier and hatchi motors lol

  • ICE... it's beautiful...

In Russia this train is called "Sapsan".

But for some reason I like this train these "ICE" because they paint on the beautiful ...

  • wunderbar!!!!

  • It's weird that a NS train doesn't go in Holland. Why does Holland need an internal high speed network anyway. Most major cities are like thirty miles apart and the only halfway far ones are Maastricht and Eindhoven.

  • vóll_geîl_lÈûtÊ_sücht_mal_ñÂch:_olikohle_äÛf_goöglé_vôll_gêIl

  • Maybe they should start using Magnets for brakes, that's my only complaint. Otherwise, these trains are amazing.

  • @DaaYay there are magnetic brakes but to stop a train they are useless. (at slow speeds) to less eddy courent or howerver you call this.

  • the train reminds me of Arnold schwarzenegger...xD

  • @loaduponc How can you say the Acela is the best in the world?!! The average speed of the Acela is 80mph, most European city train network trains can achieve this speed....

Acela has a top speed of 150mph for a very limited amount of time, which is still 36mph slower than an ICE or TGV's top speed.

Even the British Intercity 125 diesel train developed in the early 70's is capable of the same speed as the Acela...................

  • Ppl ... what about the US high speed rail??? We have the Acela... It's got a snack bar that serves hotdogs and beer. The seats are so cool, you can flip the backrest the other side so passengers can face each other. Traveling from nyc to boston only takes 6 to 7 hrs, and you don't have to worry about traffic.. The Acela also has electric outlets you can plug your laptop. Due to the high speed, internet connection breaks once in a while, but it's high speed. The Acela is the best in the world!!

  • Amtrak SUX

  • I'm surprised the train isn't painted blue and yellow.

  • this is not dutch!!!!!!!!!! This is a german train!

  • @myalover Ah another one that cant read the VIDEO TITLE

  • @myalover Look again. The first train has the NS logo (Dutch Railways) , the second one DB (German railways) . The front train is owned by the dutch railways.

  • @myalover the traih itself was built in Germany, but it is owned and operated by NS.

  • Hamburg Hauptbahnhof oder ?

  • @waldiotti

  • @teufelkiller

Der Hamburger Hauptbahnhof ist nicht unterirdisch, Du Trottel.

  • @Fincut81 Man bist dun Trottel.

  • @waldiotti Koln, yesterday I was there :)

  • @waldiotti

    ne dat is kölle

  • Wondefrull video and good image accentuate on the couple sistem between the train midle.

  • Dutch Train Company, but German Engineering :-) Its art

  • Bon Gia

  • Great video!

  • this is germany!!

  • In Spain we have those trains too.

They are called ''AVE'' and they are very very similar (white and Purple) and they can reach 300 kilometers per hour

  • @5lauritas the AVE is the velaro-system of siemens. it is similar to the ice 3 generation. same company, same train = similar looking ;-)

  • DEUTSCHE BAHN

  • @PolskaUrban How? They are no where near the same.

  • Apparently DB have been given Permission to run ICE trains through the Channel Tunnel this month (December 2009), meaning ICE could come to London St Pancras soon. If it does happen I hope it will be ICE3s.

    Great vid!

  • I've been on and ice and eurostar the ice was way faster but the eurostar was more comfortable

  • they are german, and just LEASED by NS

  • Nice NS ICE 3

  • Gidday from downunder Australia

Crikey that's a bloody awesome video mate, thanks for sharing.

  • That's a really great lookin train, but why are there to engines coupled together in the middle of the train?

  • they will be split in Cologne and pass on to different destinations (Amsterdam and Brussels)

  • Oh that makes sense, And it must be really efficient too.

  • Those aren't engines, they are the cabs of two trains coupled together. In these trains the traction motors are underneath the train rather than at the front or the rear... so there is no seperate locomotive.

By the way, I must say that I see those Dutch ICE's all the time here in Amsterdam, so I think the second paragraph of the vid description might be a bit outdated.

  • @U2TIGERHAWK21 Those aren't engines, they are I believe two very strong magnets to hold the 2 seperate trains together. That way they can easily disconnect when they need to go in different directions (always make sure you're in the right part xD). It also makes it possible to adjust the length of the train (rush hour trains are sometimes twice as long).

  • One of most beautiful trains in the world:)

  • @AuDubai89

    C est vrai

  • Nice video. I will be in Köln this wednesday and i'm planning to shoot some nice video's. I already have maked a video from my trip with the ICE from Arnhem to Ulm. Check my profile for the video. :)

  • fantastic ! really europe train station !

  • Yes, Cologne, Koeln

  • So HST's in Germany are electrically powered?

  • uhhhm... SURE!

  • yup they are :>

  • jah!

  • what is the speed of the germans fast trains ?

  • 330 km/h, in regular service between Cologne and Frankfurt 300 km/h.

  • i know the record in 2007 in france is 567 ... in japan there is too so fast trains around 400 and moree but Germany very good too 300 and more applouse Germany greetings from Bulgaria :)

  • Hamburg - Berlin - Leipzig is only 250 km/h

  • Hamburg-Berlin: 230 km/h;

    Berlin-Leipzig: 200 km/h

The only other track in Germany where ICE 3 can run at 300 km/h is Nuremberg-Ingolstadt. Commercial speed of most of the other HSR tracks is 250 km/h even though there exist some upgrading plans. Future new HSR lines in Germany will all be designed for 300 km/h.

Most ICE 1 and ICE 2 are able to run at 250 km/h. Some are allowed to speed up to 280 km/h.

  • lol... you explained the whole vid on the title xD

  • the ICE trains and the Eurostar trains look very beautiful , i wish to have the model trains of these , but theyre expensive or not in stock anymore , but , Beautiful models they are , wish we had these in Australia

  • If you go online and order from the "Dicke" company you can find them at reasonable prices. I am going to do the same myself since you really cant find them in america

  • Yeah Germany rocks!!!

  • i regulary travel with the ICE and almost every one of them was on time. but i can't deny, that sometimes they are quite full. but if you bock a seat you won't have problems.

  • When you check in in Frankfurt between 16 and 17 a clock it´s always totaly filled. It´s getting better in Montabaur. But sometimes you bock a seat in a waggon wich is not there. Sometimes they say the train is going with two peaces and then there is only one.

  • Mein Sohn und Ich rode the ICE when we were there in Mai/Juni. Prima!

  • It's a little bit stupid that they drive the german ICE in The Netherlands and the Dutch ICE in Belgium and Germany

  • lol so what we have the thalys to

  • These. (Not this)

  • This trains are awesome!

  • Why making such a noise about it. This scenery above happens thousends of time daily in Germany, is the drab monotony of everyday life.

Each day I'm passing this station above since 10 years and more...

  • The main reason the U.S. doesn't have much high-speed rail (basically, Acela in the Northeast Corridor is it) is that it is not practical. Many cities are 500-1000 miles away from each other. Even with flight delays and whatnot, air travel is still much faster for many trips than even the fastest high-speed rail could ever be.

  • not necessarily: if you consider that railroad stations are mainly located in the city center (airports usually aren´t), the train can still be faster in the end. But beyond 1000 miles the plane will be definitely faster, but mostly more expensive as well.

  • The city-center-to-city-center advantage only works, though, if that's where the trip begins and ends. For short business trips, such may often be the case. But, at least in the U.S., many people who travel long distances for vacations, to visit family, etc., don't live in the city center, and don't want to go to the city center of their destination, either.

  • i dont get it USA is the richiest country in the world and we dont have this train. i dont get it

  • We live in a country run by oil men, and one with a powerful airline lobby. That's why projects like the Florida Overland Express and Texas TGV were killed.

  • Unfortunately, yes!

  • @mj1234321 $8 billion for high-speed rail projects as a part of the 2009 stimulus package has prompted U.S. federal and state planners to coordinate the implementation of high-speed service along ten major rail corridors.[2]

In California what may be the United States' first dedicated high-speed rail infrastructure, a high speed line between Anaheim and San Francisco via Los Angeles and San Jose, is scheduled to begin construction by September 2012 in the Central Valley.[3]

  • England's pretty/reasonably rich, but we don't have them - again, an over-rated airline lobby and an incompetent government!

  • England.. Has The EuroLine

  • umm we sorta do

  • The US might be the richest COUNTRY in the World. Flanders officialy is the richest REGION in the World. Flanders is a sub-state of Belgium. And yes, we do have these high-speed trains. We have Thalys AND TGV

  • *lol* monacco is still the richest country on earth ;)..only an america would say america is the richest..typical

  • First I'm not American I'm a flemish belgian. Second, Flanders IS the richest region in the world, surpassing monaco and all those other so called rich "countries"

  • Even e.g. Luxembourg, Swiss or Bavaria (in Germany)are richer per head, living-standard anyway. Nearly all cities of the world with the highest living standard are in Europe. But some people out their in the desert of Arizona or in Idoha don't realize that.

  • so? We have Fyra,ICE,Thalys THREE and who cares about Flanders anyway? >.>

  • We have the Eurostar, the French TGV service, the Thalys services, a couple of German ICE3 connections, the regular NMBS interregional express IC services.

When it comes to railway infrastructure, Belgium has more experience than the Netherlands and is better equiped as a whole.

  • but look at our debt

  • richiest? MJG01 .. Germany and Holland are rich counrty's to...

  • @MJG01 who said USA is the richest country in the world? ash

  • @TheAliakbarazad

The USA IS the richest country in the world.....thats a fact

  • @AFBrat77

Your Federal Debt is now at 12.3 trillion $. The U.S. therefore has the most debt of all states. USA is completely bankrupt!

  • @AFBrat77 dream on

  • @MJG01 USA can't handle money. Money ends up in the pockets of bussiness people and so called ''higher class'' people. The money that's left is wasted by the government. Which leaves the average dude with nothing.

  • @MJG01 Because there too caught up in gaining more money then helping with the amount they already have.

  • @MJG01 Ppl ... what about the US high speed rail??? We have the Acela... It's got a snack bar that serves hotdogs and beer. The seats are so cool, you can flip the backrest the other side so passengers can face each other. Traveling from nyc to boston only takes 6 to 7 hrs, and you don't have to worry about traffic.. The Acela also has electric outlets you can plug your laptop. . The Acela is the best in the world!!

  • @loaduponc yeah it has just about half of the eupean trains 2. class capacity. Plus it only reaches 150 mph for a couple of minutes. Normal European trains run on that speed the whole time. So the conclution is you have shit trains.

  • @UraeusAnkhAmon Plus the Acela is the ONLY train that goes above your shitty speed limit. We have a whole country that can under that time (7 hours) running on 75% high speed with more than 30 stops run that distance with about 10 waitng time at the stations.

  • @MJG01 well that depends on what your definition of "the richest country" is. I guess if you measure it on the yearly investments in the military then yes the US is the richest country^^ Many european countries are a lot richer if you compare the average income of a citizens in europe (eg. luxemburg belgium denmark holland switzerland sweden norway etc...) to The United States...

  • @MJG01 Hm, used to be mate, used to be... now USA has maybe the biggest debt in world, unfortunatelly :X And they owe it to China, wasnt that the enemy before some years? Is it good to owe money to my enemy? I like USA more than China, so I hope you will make it somehow. But I dont think Obama is the solution lol

  • @HybOj ...and one more thing. Your previous president had guts of steel man, thats why he wasnt liked by majority of ppl (thanks to media), Obama seems more like enemy agent in your capital :X Some powerfull people needed to have him as a president, thats why he recieved nobel price for peace before he even farted on his new possition! Thats why the media supported him so much in the beginning (Worldwide!!). Thats why he doesnt have to show u his ID!! Thats why his name Hussein is not used :X

  • All right double headed! Nice trains too.

  • Ye, wish we had them here as well!

  • The ICE´s (Dutch and German) are used in one pool (lik in one company), so the Dutch trains can run from Brussels to Cologne without even entering the Nethelands.

  • the front is dutch and DB is german right?

  • The front unit is from the NS, right. And the rear unit is from the DB.

  • Joh, dan ga je toch lekker jumpen.

  • jij dus

  • how are the two attached

  • they are coupled with an automatic central buffer coupling (type Scharfenberg), can be seen in the vid closed to the end

  • i think the front unit is 4 amsterdam (dutch version) and the rear one 4 brussels. u must've got it wrong
