I'm surprised that the sony has better contrast and color than the Sony of all cameras. The lack of image stabilization seems very strange to me. Video can be fixed in post production with Vegas, but I wouldn't have a clue what to do with the pictures, which probably all be blurry as a result.
@hzzn Indeed, i have been VERY pleased with the Sony camera for stills and phtos with key factors being low-light, wide angle and stabilization. And all reviews i have read say the April 2011 replacement [Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX9V] is even better. In 2012 i probably will TRY a Tryx 2..... but, more likely i will buy the 2012 version of the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX9V.
Very cute review! Because of this review, I am going to hold off getting the Casio Tryx, thank you! I appreciate the time you took to make this youtube video.
@ricshos Indeed, i am a lucky, lucky man and have a smarter and sexier other half. I may not be entirely happy with the Casio Tryx, but i am completely satisfied with my Sweetie!

@juliact I really do think Casio in onto something. And i love that they think outside the box. Also almost ALL compact Flip type camera ignore image stabilization. BUT that has to end. Also they need to pay attention to better touch screens and better interfaces.

@BiteMyShinyMetalBBQ Indeed I did have high hopes! But maybe the Tryx II in 2012 will do the trick. But for all hybrid cameras i consider 4 things key: wide angle lens, image stabilization, flip for self shooting display and external mic input. And that is the order of priority (by a small margin) on those must have features. Unfortunately, NOTHING on the market seems to have ALL those features. Who knows maybe the Canon G13 or G14 will have those.
Nice review! Comparing picture quality, I think the Casio has a more cleaner, crisper picture than the Sony...but then again, I"m blank as a fart when it comes to cameras.
@sneakypreacher Ah, i will have to re-look for that. Also the still images aren't NEARLY as good as the Sony DSC-HX5. If only the DSC-HX9 [the 2011 model] had a flip flopping LCD i would get that in May 2011. I think i will be waiting till 2012 for a video blogging camera to really make me happy!
Very helpfull, thank you!

Great review. Obviously the lack of image stabilization in the Casio sucks, but it did seem to have good color saturation.

Too much content, not enough time in bed!
nessus42 10 months ago
@nessus42 Who needs more than 8 minutes for anything when in bed!? Also, YouTube only thinks anyone should be in bed for no more than 10 minutes max.

Crummy image stabilization, lack of flash...what a shame - I was really looking forward to it.
