  • my senior year of high school, one of my senior gifts was a cruise well we went on the carnival valor but we also looked at this to do a short trip afterwards to hit the bahamas...such a shame we didn't! It would have been nice to sail on a legend!

  • that was a scam boat, i was on it and the captain lied about the bahamas trying to get everyone to go only were he sugested. oh and lovly bufffet old nasty nachos totaly junk wish they scraped it before they took my cash. time share scam

  • Regal Empress should still be here, not in the scrap yard.

  • Regal Empress was such a beautiful ship. I am not happy that she's gone. God damn it! Olympia should have been saved.

  • Interior was typical of many old ships: mess of old and new.

  • i like the music

  • nice memory

  • Michael,

Great Shots. Memories are captured and feelings stirred up in this presentation.

    Well Done!

  • looks like a rust bucket ....couldn't imagine paying money to go on this.

  • Why? Why did Olympia had to go? Why wasn't there a better effort to save her? Why?

  • Olympia Regal Empress. Oh! What a beautiful Liner. the Bar is stunning. The Dining Saloon with its murals are absolutely gorgeous.

  • I was lucky enough to find a great book called "Olympia: The Last Greek Goddess" by David W. Pressler about the life of this magnificent ship. He sells it on eBay. I'm glad you enjoyed my video! I miss the REGAL EMPRESS a lot!

  • I`ve been on three cruises on this boat. No comparison to a Norwegian or Carnival mega cruiser, and I mean this in a good way. Like going back in time. A great old lady, absolutely beautiful wood and brass details. Classy dining room, great food, friendly service , fantastic midnight buffets, pizza all day long, good shows, friendly staff, comfortable cabins, a library-reading room that would not be out of place in an English estate, oil paintings, etc. Truly a beautiful boat.

  • i was fortunate to work onboard her back in 1994,had a brilliant time :-)

  • Rest in peace. This was a beautiful ship. Thanks to solas 2010 a lot more cruise ships will be joining this one at the breakers.

  • Peter Knego's video is by user 'midshipcentury' btw.

  • Yeah, I tried to get one last voyage out of her too but timing wasn't right. Since I live in FLL I used to go watch her sail from the jetties sometime. The Bahamas Celebration will be more what people expect I suppose, but it won't be the Regal Empress! That being said, I'm going to try to sail on her soon just because! The Norway, huh? That's another tear-jerker...

  • I was sailing with Veronica on that voyage. We all had a great time. And agreed that she will be missed. Too bad that Imperial Majesty did not keep her up till 2010, but the engines were not rated to go beyond sometime early this year, but they have and are currently propelling the ship to Port of Said. It is a shame she did not stick around just a little bit longer, but the owners wanted to start fresh, hence the new name and new ship.

  • Hi, I think Iam having a brain freeze right now. I meant to say Jan 12th for my last cruise on her. I have done so much traveling recently the dates are all running together.I just posted before this.

  • Wonderful pictures of this great ship! Iam sure going to miss her. My last cruise on her was on March 12, 2009 just a few days after this video was posted. I wonder if I know you. My name is Veronica Salisbury. Smooth Seas
