Brilliant. Mozart composed this for a "friend" of his who was a perpetual hanger-on who played the clarinet brilliantly. Mozart had far too short a life but that's what makes what he did write so much more special.
Clarinet sounds great. Strings not so good -- dodgy intonation in places, and phrasing often leaving lots to be desired. Only showing up the superior quality of the clarinettist though!
Brilliant, Mozart was brilliant! Clarinet ROCKS!!!!! ! There not playing to fast either! They are VERY good. To be able to play this song this well is an accomplishment in itself! Mozart is tough, real tough.
thts where i found this, spent 2 weeks thinking wtf could the piece in the final episode was, i kept serching and searching and then finally found it. itss soooo beautiful
The first time I heard this piece was on a M*A*S*H episode as Charles worked with Korean musicians to play this beautiful Mozart work. It was a sad ending when the musicians were brought into the camp...all dead, innocent victims of the Korean war.
I hugry with "moretg". I think the clarinetist takes it a little bit too fast. But even if Sabine Meyer's version is better than this version, I like it very much^^ Congratulations =)
in every video where a classical preformer moves while playing someone has to make a negative comment. you dont like it? dont do it when you preform. do you fucking imbeciles think a guy with this much going for him reads comments on youtube by losers and thinks "oh gee i better take their advice since they know so much" STFU
Yay! I found this! I am so happy because I couldn't really find a recording of it! I'm playing this in a quintet in my youth orchestra! Very nice recording very nice! =)
An interesting version... a little bit too fast. End of phrases are too short. I prefer Sabine Meyer's version on Youtube. Much more expressive and better quartet!
Not bad Sergio...but all that bobbing and weaving does nothing for your performance. Why not sit quietly, play your heart out and let Mozart do the moving?

In her biography of Mozart, Marcia Davenport says this
clarinet quintet is the "most perfect in the whole library
of the instrument." Is this opinion or fact? I am not a musician
and I don't know what she means when she says "perfect".

If the clarinetist is taking it too fast, then so are the strings.

It's a great piece! I can't wait to perform it. Our quintet is playing it at a nursing home, so I know they'll like it.
