watch the story unfold as Queen Latifah breaks it down

kick back and feel the zeal burn from deep down

DAMN THIS SONG MAKES ME SHED TEARS!!

  • After this I had to listen to Slick Rick's 'Hey young world' This music is so refreshing.

  • Reminds me of Bangin' in Little Rock...

  • queen latifah is my favorite female rapper. she keeps it 100 in her songs. she doesn't need make up or to sound like shes having a malfunction. damn i miss the 90's hip hop when every song had meanings and messages in it. hip hop nowadays is fucking horrible, nobody wants to hear rappers rapping about money, bling, women, cars

  • @xdivision100 dm...I thought I was the only one...

Glad too see I'm not alone in that sentiment...

  • @ghostchild88 nope there are alot of people who know hip hop is fucked up. your not the only one

    ALIEN

  • I haven't heard this song in years, this definitely takes me back to my youth right here I love this song because of its timeless value and a throwback to the good times. Prodigy of Mobb Deep sampled parts of the hook for his song Cant Complain and this song also contains samples from Herb Alpert's song Making Love In The Rain feat. Janet Jackson and Lisa Keith.

  • dope

  • Real hip hop. nuff said.

  • My EXACT sentiments ...

  • too bad she's a lesbo....

  • @happy420golucky still made go music regardless tho

  • why would u call her that? because she ain't showing off her ass and breast, having slack lyrics, thats why hip hop died, everyone neglects the artist talent and focus on how they look and how the video look, thanks to you we have talentless rappers like lil wayne and dem making it

  • That beat was so ill...

  • We're an independent label trying to make it in this game and the best way to do that is by being more known on youtube. One of the ways we stand out is we help unsigned artists get more fans by uploading their songs for a new fan base

You can change our future with one simple click.

Please thumbs up so other people can see this and check out our channel and comment with feedback if you like, also if you think we could improve.

If you like check the other artists we have over 60 vids up!

    Cheers!

  • Looks like a dike.

  • this track is chill as hell but also haunting.

  • this isn't even called RAP, its called Hip Hop.

  • I saw her on Monday at Winfield. She's exquisite.

  • SHE STANDS TESTAMENT TO THE CONCEPT OF ARTIST EVOLUTION. HAIL TO THE QUEEN!

  • Let me tell what is so great about Latifah besides her obvious rapping talent. It's the fact that she COMMANDS respect. As a Woman, especially a black female in the entertainment industry that's very hard to do but Latifah has always carried herself very well and got to where she is because of her talent. A lot of artists today can't say the same.

  • damn she really knows how to put it down this reminds me of the streets

  • Bahamadia is a cool femcee too

  • Real rap, this is what you call REAL RAP.

  • Im Willin to bet TREACH wrote this

  • i think that people complain waaay too much about hip hop then & hip hop now. chill. music is always changing & every generation claims it's better than the next. let the youngins do they thing. if you like this kind of hip hop it's plenty of it being made today. & with all the tech it's actually a little better. find it. support it. give the new guys doing classic hip hop a chance.

  • It's 2011 and I still play this joint. Something about music like this that you can vibe 2. I love the way they sampled Making Love In The Rain, Classic. This is meditation music for the Hood. lol ..... I Love It !!!

  • THIS SHIT IS THE SHIT

  • REAL HIP HOP

  • Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, Lauryn Hill, and Monie Love are the dope female MCs I listen to. Peace to all the ladies who listen to good music!

  • this song is so peaceful

  • haha iv been hearin latifah all this time not knowin she's the ssame person who brought down the house and in taxi haha

  • I miss girls like Latifah and Lauren Hill. They're actually telling a story, whereas nowadays we have Nicki Minaj just trying to be as annoying as possible.

  • @Nzdrovya4life you are so right

  • like if the chrorus line is stuck in your head and if u think hip hop now in day is not even comparable to the music of back in the day

  • Nicki, lil kim and lil mam, eve, diamond, and any other female rapper need to sit down and take notes

  • totally brings me back to the days of baggin in little rock.......my brother and i used to watch that on hbo and were like this is crazy...mind u...i was 10 n he was 6....those were the days

  • New Jerzey's finest...All hail da Queen

  • Greatest female MC of all time! Bottom line!

  • Long Live The Queen!

  • Love this song !!!!

  • To you so-called hip-hop artists making what you call "music" today. Please stop embarrassing the art. You're not halping to advance it. You're setting it back 100 years. Epic fail. Why? Because it's NOT real hip-hop.

TAKE NOTES! THIS SONG RIGHT HERE IS HOW IT'S DONE!

  • @MystroMusicMan you do realize that different genertations like different music so if you dont like it this generations music dont listen to it dummy.....

  • @deeznutz235 Ma'am, don't take your period out on me just because you're one of these fans of AutoTuned garbage out now. Look, different generations like the music they loved as young adults/adults for the most part. Anyone knows this. However one thing they can tell you is, at least there was one common thread those generations had in common...

    T A L E N T.

But you wouldn't know anything about that word now, would you?

  • @MystroMusicMan thank you! people really need to realize that beats off a synthesizer and someone "rapping" about sex or drugs to it isn't really rap. This style of music has a story a good beat and everything rap should be not what it is now.

  • @koharig45441 Hey thanks, Kohang.

I don't understand where the variety has gone to in Hip-Hop. In the 90's, you had groups & acts like N.W.A, Father MC, Das Efx, Yo-Yo, Queen Latifah, Naughty By Nature, Artifacts, Das Efx.. heck, you even had Kris Kross & ABC! You had Gangsta Rap sure, but also, raps about growing up, partying & having fun, and empowerment. Now it's just the same software-made, singing through Auto-Tune (horribly) and the SAME worn-out subject, R&B is the same way mostly. Sad.

  • @MystroMusicMan go listen to j cole and tell me whats up you old sob

  • @ginipigs I'm bout as "old" as you are, girl. Stop crying and learn about real music.

J Cole is a great lyricist, by the way. But he's only 1 in hundreds of the wack rappers you listen to.

  • @MystroMusicMan thats why shes at the top of the chart of them 1 hundred wacks . eh? queen is an actor, shes all about hollywood, she isnt real.

  • @ginipigs "..queen is an actor, she all about hollywood, she isnt real" -You

There's nothing 'fake' about a rapper who can also act. It's called being "multi-talented".

    Stupid much?

  • @MystroMusicMan exactly lol

  • @jfraz1992 Thanks :)

  • Classic!!!!!!!!!!!!! Alllllllllll Hail to the Queen.

  • what happened to real hip hop like this???? the queen, KRS one, big daddy kane?

  • Gangwar 94

  • she killed this

  • old school the best! 8)))

  • Like Katt Williams said. Rap is getting harder to back up these days.

  • @AceMasta304 LOL

  • THIS IS THA SHIIIIITTTTT!!!!!

  • This was the track that put Latifah on a different level than any other female in rap history. You got the Queen doing the vocals and the lyrics, to a story with meaning, wrapped around a sick beat.

Absolutely amazing how talented this woman is, rap, r&b, sitcoms, commercials, movies, hosting award shows. Its nice to look back and reflect on her development.

    275 Paulstand

    155 Morgan Much love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh shit.

  • Listen closely and you would hear Slick Rick saying my,my,my,

  • man when i say queen latifah is one of my favorite artist till this day, i really mean it. her music has so much depth to it & makes me want to write better, whether its poetry or music Queen Latifah makes me want to dig inside of myself & find meaning & purpose for what i am actually saying out of my mouth. i will always love & respect her for that.

  • Queen La one of the pioneers....ntg

  • hah this shit sucks

  • @Comedy322 you can't knock the new generation. we respect the past but we also have to respect the future whether not you disagree with the music.

  • @trinidad718 I HAVE NO RESPECT FOR THAT SHIT NONE. not even mad about them bein sell outs as much as the message they give off like jay electronica said its real unfamiliar

  • @trinidad718 Respect if for what?? Im not sure i can respect what i hear when i listen to this new crap.....talking about raping, stealing..and all that BS! which there is NO excuse for!!

  • @cbnboy34 there is alot of conscious young rappers out there...they don't all rap about the stereotypical topics some actually rap about style and life issues...Lupe Fiasco, Kid Cudi, B.O.B, Common still makes music, and many more. these arent your mainstream typical Camron, 50 Cent, Lil Wayne kinda artists.

  • THATS Y SHE'S THE QUEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You have to love Latifah! She is one of the female pioneers and one of the most successful male or female rappers. I love the way she did not accept just being a rapper. Get um Queen LOL! Love ya!!!!

  • shit aint the same anymore

  • the real

  • Who the hell is Nicki Minaj this the real rap.

  • @vooes Heard Nicki Minaji say she would not pattern her career after any female rapper. Lost ALL respect for her then! If she has a fraction of the career Latifah has she would be lucky. TV actress, movie actress , spokes model, singer, host, bad ass rapper, on and on!!!

  • Thing songs da shyt. Loving the "chuyo"(Peruvian Hat) she got.

  • I play this & U.N.I.T.Y. takes me back to the good ole days!! 80's and 90's by FAR were the best when music had a meaning!!
