Wow .. sure people are now talking but still sounds insulting.. and with all the great stuff u do.. how can another person tell someone how to paint .. when ur already an artist.. and creativity is a matter of taste .. I seen alot of painting I love and others hate .. and vice versa .. so I think if they dont like it they should keep their opinions to themselves
people need to learn to look without thinking... when there is a resonance fine, they can enjoy that and if there is none, just step up to the next one.
2012 is a good movie that just came out. Its good but sad. My favorite movie is the Goonies its funny. Oh can you create a portrait of one of the characters?
The people who didn't like the power of white haven't spent enough time with the paintings. When I first saw them I could have cried. I had loved the color/texture. But each time I saw them, the white seemed more and more "right." And now I can truly appreciate the strength of those pieces. You have to spend time with them and after a while you become emotionally invested in them and then the love comes, and I really love those paintings. And the talking about you is always a good thing.
I Love the eyes... I'm too chicken to watch scary movies.... I like a lot your comment at the end about painting, compared to a movie ending or a book.... I was shocked when I saw you covered in white the painting, but I guess after watching it again, it looks rather interesting, to only leave part of those other awesome colors... I hope that invitation to the show is a great thing for your art! :oD
sorry Gary im with the gallery guys re the white paintings i soooooooo loved them befor you added the white, most likely because im a big fan of your textural works and i get a little pang when they get covered over. congrats on the offer to exhibit in the other gallery gonna miss ya when you go away :-(
6 out of 10 ... you're very generous (gawd, i hated that movie! :) ... but i love the white paintings (it's as much about what's not seen as what is seen, imo) ... and how cool to have someone genuinely discussing your art :) ... xoxo
I am LOVIN the eyes! I really like that last painting as well, kind of funky and different. Very cool and who cares what others say about your paintings. You paint what you like unless it's a commissioned piece. lol Congrats on the Denmark showing!
That used to rack my nerves when people wanted me to change my art! Once I sold pottery to this little shop and the owner loved it. A few days later, she called me and said she had to speak to me in person. I went over and she said she wanted me to change the glaze on this one bowl, that I had intentionally left the outside "raw" because it looked like sand and had texture and it was cool. Arghhhh!
That was a bit rude of her! So many galleries are like that though! I've been told that some of my work isn't suitable especially if it isn't pretty or have nice images lol...
hey i descovered i had bought the same painting paper you use. its a neat idea to start from there instead of a blank page. everyone is encouraging me to paint here. do you have a live straming site?? like blogtv..so we can watch you live and comment??
