one of my favorite songs with jamerson playing bass. great job, after 25 years since i started playing i just picked the bass back up and this time i'm will do it the right way. i'm learning about chords,scales and much more,at times it seem a bit much,but i really want to master the bass. do you have any tips to share with me. your playing was great, and i figured since i'm starting again i want to get one of the best bassist there ever was.thanks for sharing your talent.

Hi - Thanks for your message. The age of youtube/internet gives you all you need to learn, but if you want to do it a similar way to Jamerson I guess you would start with Ray Brown Bass Books - there's so much RB in Jamerson' s groove that they just form one thing really, after Jamerson I would say Michael Henderson took their funk to the next level. I wish I could read properly - good luck!

And don't forget you play bass - don't worry about treble - the rest of the band got that.
