Speed is irrelevant, power and cadence are all that matter for indoor training. Depending on what i have my resistance unit set to, i can crank it up to 300w in the little ring, or pop off the resistance and drop it down to 53x12 and barely hit 280w, both are dramatically different speeds.
Free motion rollers allow the bike to move forward and aft to compensate for movements that happen when you hop out of the saddle, and sprint/accelerate.
Thanks for the tips guys, but i've always had ridiculously tight hamstrings, never been able to touch my feet, and i've sprained both my ankles so many times that they are almost impossible to bend past 90deg. My heels are always off the ground for squats.
Free motion rollers take the scare out of hopping out of the saddle. On standard rollers, you are very limited to how much power you can put into a sprint because sprinting includes a lot of forward inertia that free motion rollers comply with. And to director: great choice of music.
it looks dangerous

I have a question, what's the advantage of this over say... an exercise bike?
bondagesecks 1 year ago
@bondagesecks
Rollers are more compact than bulky exercise bikes. Plus, you get to use your bike, the exercise bikes feel different

P.S. Relax your ankles.

Yep, the pedal stroke could use some refining.
Bring the heel down!
A cycling "boot camp" will teach that to yourself. I am doing a self-started one, it has changed my style for the better in 3 days.

Maybe try yoga? It will reduce your chances of getting injured, you'll be a better cyclist, and girls like it.

What advantage does that have over just rollers, and did you build the whole setup or just the free motion carriage part?
