My husbands agrees (he does this stuff) 24 hours is a bit short of a dry time. That and all that prep work they gloss over is the key to making it come out decent.
@1nehoc yes!!! I would be careful when following the advice in this video. I don't yet have a video of my own for redoing cabinets, so I can't refer you to one of my own, but I would consider painting them in oil if I were you as I assume you don't have any fancy spray equipment like I do. Oil based finishes will yellow but they are far superior to water based paints as far as durability. Make sure you wash, sand, and prime everything (cover stain is excellent) really well before painting.
carrtex: You sure can. If you're painting new particle board, I highly recommend a good sealing primer. If they're already painted or covered in a laminate, use an adhesion primer.

I disagree with the end of this video - let the doors dry for about 3 days before putting them back on. Then the paint is hard and durable.

sand it down a lit bit look for holes o cracks then apply a good coat of sealer primer (gripper works great) n' start painting

my cabinets are oak with varnish high gloss, I want to paint them off white any special prep?
