  • its a mystical tatto tha tgives you rpotection from a certain conflict but all together they all protect you from death

  • @msayofemi1 protect you from death? Doesn't everybody die? Unless you mean protects you from early death...

  • Can someone tell me what is the name of Angelina Jollies tattoo done by Master Arjan Noo on left shoulder blade? Thanks

  • @allhopeisgonee Ha taew.

  • i'm digging this song.... i'm gunna get a sick tribal tattoo when i go to bankok this may. :P

  • @Geordonk You need to respect the Tattoo.....

  • Do i have to go through abstinence and be a monk if i want to have a Sak Yant? Please get back to me thanks. I am setting my mind on Yant Grao Paetch. (Diamond Armour Yantra)

  • @hudalian Hi. You will need to ask the monk/ajarn about his individual rules. However, you should be prepared for some rules (check out the sak-yant website for a list from one ajarn). In very general terms, if you are following the 5 precepts, you're on the right path. But because it varies I have to ask you to speak to the individual ajarn or monk who will be doing the work. :)

  • @tinfamily Thank you on the information. Can i get it at a tattoo shop then get it blessed at thailand? Please get back to me buddy.

  • @hudalian If you just want the "look" then some tattoo shops can do it, but the khom (the writing) will be wrong. In fact, many books will intentionally have "mistakes" and the masters keep the correct formula for themselves and their disciples. So, if you want the authentic spiritual experience, it's best to go to a reputable ajarn (layman) or a monk (e.g. @ wat bang phra). For the most part you can only use your skin once. I'd recommend getting the real deal.

  • @tinfamily Oh ok... thank you so much buddy.

  • @tinfamily Hey just for the record, are you a Singaporean? If so, can you please introduce me any ajarns that is permanently here or here for a month? If so, get back to me. Thank you very much and sorry for the hassle.

  • @hudalian I thought I answered but don't see the answer here, so maybe it got lost in the mix. I don't track Singapore, but Spencer, from "sak-yant" website may know of when certain Ajarns go to Singapore. I hope it helps!

  • @tinfamily It's alright buddy. I thank you for the whole lot of information and generous help. And to being with, i've researched the 5 precepts of Buddha. Do you have to undergo abstinence?

  • @hudalian There are rules, but you do not have to be a monk. The rules can vary from monk to monk, but generally they start with the five precepts and go from there.

  • @tinfamily what rules did he sett for you? he seems nice and i'm thinking of getting a gao yord in my neck.

  • @hudalian Short answer is no on abstinence.

  • @tinfamily Okay, thank you for all the information! God bless you.

  • I always wanted a tattoo done the 'traditional Thai way' (hope that is politically correct) since i saw a picture of Angelina Jollie getting her 'tiger' tattoo. And it was more intriguing when i watched 'Ninja assassin'

BUT after reading these comments below i was like WHAAAAAT? They reuse needles? No matter how much you sanitize a needle, I still have that fear that it has been used on someone else... ! I mean you pay for your tattoo so you should get new needles

  • @xxBabyxxSkuLLxx I have read from one source that Ajarn Anek uses new needles, but I have no solid knowledge one way or another. A prospective client of any Ajarn should check carefully and make sure, if it is important to them. You could probably work something out with one of the Ajarns to use new needles and pay for them.

Not just limited to Thai or Khmer tattoo, but to all ancient methods or tribal tattoos anywhere, leave time to learn the process and see if it accommodates your needs.

  • I was born in Los Angeles, but I want to go back to my homeland and get this. Is there a big chance of catching HiV by this?

  • @Ajxskyline Big disclaimer: I'm not qualified in any way, shape, or form to give you an medical answer on this! I can only tell you from my personal perspective. I researched before I did it. Didn't find any cases reported of HIV from this, and went to someone (Ajarn Anek) who is not - perhaps - the cheapest, but is good. From one source that I've read, he uses fresh needles (I didn't know that at the time). I saw him sterilize with fire. If that scares you (and if it does, I understand) (cont.)

  • @tinfamily then I really recommend you check it out in person & make sure you're satisfied. If it is only for decoration, you can find someone who will give you the "style" of the yant & probably find a shop that has autoclaves, etc... but it will only be decorative (kom may be wrong, not from monk/ajarn etc...). If you want to pursue the real thing, then search out the masters, meet, talk & find out what they do with regard to sanitary preparation before taking the needle. Keep me posted! :)

  • @tinfamily Oh thank you. No its not for decoration. I have to go become a monk as a young male and I want to get this like my uncles did.

  • @Ajxskyline Ah if you're going to make merit by being a monk in the temple, you may want to hold and wait and see what is available at the temple. (I guess that might be your idea already). Depending, and you really have to feel out how the monks work there, perhaps you can donate some fresh needles and volunteer to be the first one under them! :D (I have no idea if this is possible, but just a thought). Kudos for you going to make merit for your family. That's a great thing to do.

  • Are girls allowed to get Sak Yant's? I'm going to Thailand next year and I REALLY WANT ONE!

  • @misssVO Short answer is yes, via an Ajarn (non-monk teacher/practitioner). Ajarn Anek does tattoo for both men and women. All of his contact information is on my website at the link provided above. All the best!

  • ของไม่ขึ้น อ่ะ ครับบ

  • @olokaka12591 ฉันขอโทษ ฉันไม่สามารถอ่านไทย

  • @tinfamily รถอ่านไทม่สาขอฉัย

  • @lNMMC I'm not sure I understand you. I put your words into google translate and it says "Car Times can read for diagnostic.", which doesn't make sense. Can you try English? I am sorry for not understanding Thai.

  • can i downloand the song when 2.40 min ? what tittle ?? haha

  • @GMSupport55 Check out the link at the end of the notes. You should be able to get all the versions there. Cheers.

  • @tinfamily okay..thx :))

  • truly breaht taking to watch this...hopefully I will receive some sak yant in the near future, like maybe some elephants on my legs or something ;)

  • @jimmyblaze87 Thanks Jimmy. You can get decorative ones on the legs, but the ones that monk do are supposed to be above the waist, as far as I know. If you want something in 'the style' of, but want it on the leg, then check with a regular tattoo parlor that advertises doing the style. You'll more likely get what you want there :) Cheers.

  • great music,great culture thankyou

  • it khmer letter !!! yeah i see

  • is the needle in the skin or are the just painting the tattoo?

  • @bearhouse1 Excellent question. The needle pierces the skin, surprisingly with greater precision than a gun and does not need to go as deep as most guns seem to do. Thus, there is less bleeding involved. The tattoo is permanent, and depending on the master can be dot-to-dot like in it's result or very smooth as you see in my video.

  • That's not Thai tattoo. It's Khmer tattoo. If Thai want to show their own tattoo they would write Thai letter on it.Sak Yant is the Khmer language write in Latin letter. Sak = Draw , Paint or Delineate on the body or on the papers..... Yant = Magic script including by the letter.

So at 9:17 and 9:23 you can see the Khmer letter on that tattoo, not Thai letter.

Know more about Khmer and Thai alphabet just search on youtube u will know this tattoo is Khmer or Thai.SHAME on You Thai.=))

  • @KhmerMjasSrok1113 I think you did not bother to read the info box that goes with the video. Attribution to the origins of this art are clearly credited.

  • @KhmerMjasSrok1113 Thai, Khmer, Hmong, Cambodia, Laos....all the same man. We are all brothers and sisters. Just like how Muay Thai is called that in Thailand but you go to Laos it's called Mauy Lao ahahaha! We all come from South China anyway Asian is Asian. Buddhism comes from India, Nothing really belongs to anyone.

  • @JDMBRUH I have great respect for the Khmer culture as well, and enjoyed my visit to Siem Reap. I found the local people to be wonderful, warm hearted people. It's strange to see so much hate especially from people who don't live in Cambodia.

Life is too short to spend it living in hate.

Love & peace for all people (who let me live & love in peace).

  • To bad then khmer people has given their teachings to thai..that doesnt make diffrence.khmer people dont take this kinds of practices now.

  • @samuelseigal13 Some, still, although I would agree that it may not be as popular as it once was. Still you will find it there. My upper right shoulder was done in Cambodia. I know of one who went 'upcountry' to see a forest ruessi and had a yant done with real bamboo.

  • i was wondering how the pain compares to getting a regular tat.

  • @TheBuddhadude Different, but to me it seems less. Things do take longer, so some people who rather have the buzz buzz and it's done in 20 minutes may prefer the gun. I don't mind the longer time of doing it by hand and to me the experience is more 'spiritual' (just my personal reflection there). To me there's a tiny bit less pain. For sure, there's less blood, as he's very controlled about how deep he's going with the needle. (Keep in mind the other issue about sterilization, though).

  • I like the music, you know who the artiest is?

  • @Darksassy Hi. I added a link to it at the bottom of the notes. :)

  • @tinfamily ah thx, and srry for not looking all the way down for it

  • @Darksassy Not your fault! I just added it. Before I would tell people to google fortuneangel, because I can't put links in the comments, but I finally just put a link in the comments. All the best, Ken.

  • beautiful tattoo, i will have the same one when i'm in chonburi again. can i ask what artist the music is? really makes me miss thailand

  • Thanks! The music is the (free) Compassion Mantra. If you google (guanyin compassion mantra mp3) it'll be the first link at fortuneangel. Note (esp. for the curious customs/immigration guy who kept asking me what my tattoos are supposed to protect me from) that my tattoos, wherever I could choose are all business related (public speaking, etc...) :)

  • Thank you, when i asked my gf about it she just said 'thats our praying'

i have the gao yord on my arm already (i know its meant for the top of the back) but i'd like the one you have on my back. i was simply told its a warrior tattoo and meant for protection, now i'm interested to find out all the different meanings and designs... and i had mine with a gun (took about 45min)

  • yeah i know where are u coming from so dont worry:D

i use to live in Thailand for 7 years, i have the regular tattoo in Thailand not the monk one like you. Before i was about to got one from the monk but i heard if u mess up the rule than u have to get another tattoo , is that right!!

  • I believe that if you mess up, and don't we all mess up eventually? I don't know any perfect people yet! :) Then you can go back to Ajahn and have it blessed again. I know some people who go back regularly and have blessed and prayed for (with the blowing of the energy in at the end part). For me they remind me to be mindful of the important things. I don't have to worry about blocking knives or bullets in my line of work heheh...

  • @tinfamily umm dont be retarded people.. these are Khmer(cambodian tattoos) thai just copied ll khmer culture after they took over the khmer empire.

  • ah and I've only been home two weeks and I've been missing Thailand every day, too!

  • Comment removed

  • i was in phuket and there was a bamboo tattooist who was unbelivable with his art ,he could make flowers look so real and type of tattoo you like he was great to watch being taught by a monk ,hes at dragon ink patong phuket ,or watch him work on youtube ,type bamboo tattoo by tum at dragon ink ,and you can see for youself

  • I have not been to Phuket yet, but it is on my list! If I go, I will try to find him and watch :)

  • So how exactly did you know where to go to get the tattoo? DId you just walk up to the place and ask to get the tattoo done? and did you know much thai?

  • I knew a couple of people and asked them and they asked around. In the Chonburi/Pattaya/Jomtien area, I believe that Ajarn Anek is one of the most well known for this type of work. I only know a few words of Thai, it's handy but if you're good with broken English and sign language you can still manage. If his daughter happens to be there, she or her husband may be in a position to translate for you, but I have only met her there one time. If you go to sak-yant website you can find info.

  • Awesome. thanks!

  • very interesting.. one question.. how long was the process??

  • HI! I think it was about 4-5 hours the first time, about 8 or so the second time (tiger's video) and about 4 for the third day (the one below the tiger) That's a rough guess from memory.

  • i heard if you get that tattoo you get possessed by a animal spirit or something and there are like rules after you get it is that true, and do you know how old do you have to be to get one?

  • I felt light headed at the completion (during the blessing) of the first yant (the one here). I have not ever felt "possessed" by animals, nor do I look for that. That said, I don't deny anyone else their experience. If you look you can see people at Wat Bang Phra appearing to be possessed during the festival there. I'm somewhat pragmatic about the mystical component of yantra. If there is an effect I will observe it and will relate that when asked. Other than that I try not to judge.

  • why are you drawing that on you body?

  • I had a long explanation but youtube ate it. Basically, google sak-yant and/or yantra for an explanation of the general "why" and for me, personally, it is because it is ink with meaning. It has personal significance to me :)

  • ohh i get it.. its very owsom i had went to thailand befor 1week it was amazing there but i not found a the tattoo place center :(

  • I love Thailand so much! Long live the King!

  • Music was great until milli vanilli music came on lol. Amazing work. I love the tradition behind hand poked tattoo methods.

  • lol thanks for the feedback. it's the same prayer/chant set to "upbeat" I couldn't think of what else to do...I guess I could have run the other music over again :D

  • @tinfamily so what the rules? u have to follow

and how do u know if he change the needle

or u suppose to trust him..

  • On some sites (like the sak-yant site) you'll see lists of rules. Some lists have many rules. The ones given to me were very simple.

    - Never speak poorly of anyone's parents, including my own. There is a basic assumption, I believe that one is also working on following the 5 precepts. As for not eating star fruit, sitting on broken urns, walking under clothes lines, etc... that you may read about on other lists, those rules were not given to me. (note: I was also given katha to recite)

  • As for the needles. I saw him burn the needles each time and I believe i saw other needles soaking in alcohol (not 100% on that as my memory fades haha), but yes a lot is trust and it is FAR from western standards of (autoclave) hygiene. Note no gloves, etc.. However my experience so far has been positive. The risk IS there, though. I recommend everyone do their homework before getting one and know their risks and decide if they are comfortable with it.

  • Hi.. I recieved 2 sak yants from arjarn anek as well... How'd u like reading that thing on the green book? didnt help with the pain did it? Did his dogs hang all over u? They did me... Nice video man.. I only got pics and i think im on the website too... I hope someday i get the full back like that one guy in the pic... I see u got the one on your wrist like me as well.... Well just wanted to comment.... Oh yeah I guess its a good thing i read write and speak thai, easier to make an appointment.

  • Oh yeah, to add on what u said... I think it is more expensive for farangs to get sak yants than locals... But since im fluent in thai they treated me like one of their own and the price was pretty low... But even a few thousand baht isnt too much being from the US... Well I know i went to Iraq and got shot and the bullet did no damage at all... SO Im guessing the sak yant does have some power too it... Take care

  • got shot but no dmg? care to further explain pls?

    btw, i've a gao yord,hanuman, reussi.

    cheers

  • Me? no. I have never been shot. Hmm.. are you referring to something I wrote or said? If you can reference it I can clarify it. I'd hate there to be a miscommunication on my part. For me, my only personal experience is that I fell backwards onto a yard bucket with several tiki torches in it. The tiki torches were spike facing out, so they were like punji sticks.

  • I fell backwards off a step ladder from about 3 feet up and fell a couple feet backwards onto the spikes. my shirt was punctured but I received no injury, not even a red mark. I am not judging the event, nor am making any claims it was the tattoo or not. It is what it is and is something I don't talk about a whole lot. To be clear, though, I don't get into fights nor have I been shot. When I am asked what yants I prefer, I ask for business related, rather than for fighting. Hope it helps.

  • Well... I got shot at in Iraq back when I was in the US Army.... I mean I got out of the Army few months ago on a medical discharge because i did have some injuries but it wasnt due to the fire we were recieving.... It was because our vehicle hit an IED (improvised explosive device) and our vehicle rolled over several of times and screwed up my spine a little and some nerve damage.... But the rounds that shattered my kevlar on my head did no damage at all.... crazy huh?

  • Hi tin,

was referring to gauge regarding the shots.

    @gauge - am speechless :o

  • @ Gauge912

Glad you're back in mostly one piece! I hope your spine recovers in time.

  • why you choose aj anek instead of wbp?

Gao yod got more powerfull or ykptong, what the different? Can i fine some amulet to buy at aj anek??coz, i know wpb have many chooses of amulet!!

    thx

  • Hard to say. Why do we end up where we end up? But I like Anek and I will complete my back with him. If I go WBP, then I may do arm there. Anek has given me two amulets so far. I did not ask for them, they were offered. I have bought/rented amulet from outside Wat Po and from another Wat. Amulet available from many places.

  • oh one more thing. do you just want yant or do you want it also have a certain look as well as power? go to sakyant website and look at the pictures of the type of work from different masters and you can see differences in style and quality.

  • i love the music,where can i find it?

ill be going to recieve one in may.

  • If you google "compassion mantra fortune angel" the first link has a free download. :)

  • After thinking, i will visit aj anek in mid oct,

last question, can you tell me for what purpose and meaning is for a Yan Koo Poo Tong, is there a katha for this sakyant??

  • It's a universal protection and luck yant and is often the first one received. There's a katha that goes with this one. "Na Ma Pa Ta, Ng Mu Pu Tu, Ba Thi Lu Bang" (3x)

  • Many thanks for yor valuable info!!!

Can you feel the difference in your life after you got tattooing??

  • Its awesome !! i have always wanted one of these

    done Awesome Video thanks!!

  • Thanks :)

  • Can anyone get Sak yant? Or is it only reserved for Thai people

  • It is not restricted to Thai people. Actually the origins are way back in ancient Khmer and the lettering is Khom, but that's off the topic :D

It's not restricted, however, it's up to the Arjan or the monk if they will do you. Some will not put ink on women (traditionally only Arjan can do women and they used to only do it in oil, as monks are not supposed to touch women).

It sounds complicated but really not. Maybe because I'm replying @ 3:30am lol...

  • The letters are not Khom. They are khmer sankrit. Back then thais referred to khmers as khoms.

  • so monks are the ones who traditionally tattoo people in thailand? why are monks allowed to have tattoos themselves?

  • They tattoo each other. Often the senior monk will tattoo his junior. It's allowed. I don't know a whole lot about the monk life itself. Maybe better to ask someone who has been a monk. (or ask at sakyantdotcom)

  • i very like your Yan Koo Poo Tong, can i make this Yan Koo Poo Tong at wat bangphra, i will stay in bkk, Compare two places, which is farther(aj anek or wat bang),how much the cost and how many time i need to make a ykptong, Do i need make a appoinment?

    thx

  • I'm not sure what they can do @ Wat Bang Phra. Distance to BKK: Wat Bang Phra is closer. Ajarn Anek is in Chonburi, about 2-3 hours from BKK. Cost: few hundred baht or your choice in donation @ WBP vs few thousand baht at Ajarn Anek. How many times? I'm not sure. Appointment: WBP none, you show up early and take your chances. Ajarn Anek you call day before to make sure he has time. Hope it helps.

  • what song is that send me some..

  • what is the name of the song?

  • It's the great compassion mantra. You can find it on the internet if you google "fortuneangel" and "compassion".

  • Very nice video!

  • Coming soon another video. I've added extensively to my back. Enough that my wife wants me to take a rest for a while :D

  • Sak Yant is Khmer Sanskrit, not Thai. Even Khmer numerals are written on every Thai bank note and on every Thai coin with the Thai King picture to prove Khmers are the Master of Thai since the day they were helped by Khmer people from the Mongol killing.

  • Correct. The yant is written in agkarakhom, which is Khmer Khom script. Khom Agkara is used in all yant and my katha is in Pali, which is also from Khmer.

I have been to Cambodia once (just last month) and loved it. I intend to visit again.

As for who is the master of who. I leave that for others to debate.

I pretty much love everyone and don't worry about who is master, except to learn to master myself.

    Orkun :)

  • Arkun to you too.

But why there is no the word Khmer mentioning on the description of this video?

  • If you look at the description, I added the updated information to it after you had posted the comment.

  • Could you please add the word "Khmer" on Tags too? I appreciate your work , thank you.

  • Ah forgot about the tags. Done & also updated the tags on the Cambodian video as well.

  • can u post me the chant of this video or the name of this chant... thx

  • If you google "great compassion mantra" it should be the first link :)

  • By the way do u have any good mantra?

  • For me, I've been taught a couple katha (almost same as mantra) but they are specific to the yants I have. They wouldn't be applicable for other yant or even the same (for instance Tigers) from another master.

  • thx alot.... tinfamily... been listening to this dance vision love it alot...thx

  • Ok thanks for the help^^ Btw.. you have any website like for what the yant means? like what power does the yant have?

  • sak-yant com has alot of information. You can also google "sak yant sakyant" and you should find some

  • well amulet the teacher also say cannot..

Well.. i might be getting a white ink 1 below neck i guess.. How long the scar will last? a week? or a month?

  • dam.. cause i am still in school.. so if i put.. hope wont let teacher see la.. but then well i think at the back wont see easily la..

  • Yes. Can ask that it be put low so it won't be seen at the neck.

But! Maybe for you amulet is better for now? Many Singaporean amulet collectors (google siam amulet). Can still work out ok and no trouble at school :)

  • Hey man.. i mean like will it be seen easily? like 1 eye stright away know you have a yant?

  • short answer:

needle: scar: then yes. but not from far away, depending.

finger oil yant, nothing permanent, no one can see.

  • Hey man! may i know if the white ink yant can be seen with nake eyes?

  • The white ink is primarily oil. I am not as 100% familiar with it, however this (if I recollect correctly) is how it works. It can be done with oil by mai sak, or in some cases with finger tracing only. Some people may tell you you need to suffer the pain for more meaning/power, but I don't know that for certain.

  • In the case of the mai sak you can see it if you scar, no color, but the scarring. I know for certain that the red ink that some women have in place of black is visable.

From a distance it might look like a skin discoloration. From closer you can see the design.

My suggestion is that if you are going to see an ajarn about it, ask before getting it done to see what your options are.

I think if someone tattooed my skin even with no ink or oil at all, my skin would scar up and you'

  • d see "something" for quite some time.

  • people tell me these fade away? how long they fade out?

  • I don't know what the fade factor is on these. They do last a lifetime, however they may not be as vibrant as a conventional tattoo (particularly those from the last few years with the newest inks).

The ink varies with each temple or each ajarn. Some are special mixtures including herbs or even snake venom.

I notice the cambodian tatto I received with a modern tattoo gun and ink seems darker and quite a bit sharper (not suprisingly) than the one done with the mai sak.

  • DAMN WEAR GLOVE

  • I understand your point. For my friends and viewers out there, he's talking about wearing gloves while tattoing, which is a standard safety practice in modern tattoo. Unfortunately, in sak yant, you are working with ancient customs and traditions and often they will not work with gloves. Further, you will not see an autoclave. What you may see is a jar of alcohol full of needles (if that) and they may (or may not) sterilize the tip with fire.

  • In using the Mai Sak, the needle tips are not hollow so they don't retain blood as easily. To date, there are no recorded HIV infections transmitted through sak yant (although it doesn't mean it's never happened).

You just need to know what you are getting, the risks involved and make your decision and man up if you suffer a consequence.

When I get western style modern tattoo I'll be looking for a clean shop with proper sterilization.

In the meantime, I'm going back for two or more next week.

  • how much does a Sak Yant cost in American dollars?

  • thanks where do i find a ajarn that does sak yant ? and when is the best time to go see them i was told to go in the morning!

  • Morning is best because that's when the needles are cleanest. Most don't use autoclaves, just soak in alcohol. The phone number for mine is at 9:30 in the video. A couple good ones are listed at sak-yant website (can't add the dotcom because of the spam filters)

  • am going to Thailand next summer and i was thinking of gettin a Sakyant yant (Thai tattoo) but i would like to know if they would do work on girls ?.

  • am going to Thailand next summer and i was thinking of gettin a Sakyant yant (Thai tattoo) but i would like to know if they would do work on girls ?.

  • A monk is not supposed to touch a female, but in some cases they do.

Better is to not tempt the monk and instead see an ajarn who has been trained to sak yant. In many cases, they may be former monks and are allowed to.

Traditionally, women did not have dark ink and usually were tattooed only in oil (invisible more or less) or have it done in a red ink.

These days, some women, usually westerners who are not afraid of being stigmatized will ask for black ink (like Angela Jolie).

  • awesome man, keep doing what you like! hey i would like to ask you, what is a gao yord? what does it mean? could u tell me more?

  • This is from sak-yant website. It's far more concise than me :)

    =quote=

Gao Yord (meaning nine spires/peaks), is normally the first Yant torecieve as a tattoo. For this reason it is also known as "Yant Kruu",meaning "master yant" or "teacher Yant".Reason being that this is thetattoo that permits you to enter into the lineage of masters, after which you are a disciple and entitled to recieve further yant with theprotection of Yant Kruu.

    =end quote=

  • hey there, what made you decide to get a yant? i want to get a yant too, but im only 17 =/

  • I had been to Thailand quite a few times and had/have completely fallen in love with the country. As I learned more about Thai (Theravada Buddhism) as well as the animistic influences that seem pervasive in the philosophy, I became very interested in it. This is, in a sense, my way of being "connected" to Thailand all the time. I plan on continuing work on my back the next time I go.

  • its not juss thai tattoo it's also cambodian, the sakyant originate from cambodia. i don't know why everyone is gettin them, usually its for ppl that practice black magic in cambodia/thailand.

  • Yes. Also Cambodian. It actually has it roots so far back, that it most likely precedes the country borders. Originally done by Ruessi (hermits) and many did practice black magic. Today, however, it's not all black magic. Sak Yant is done in temples like Wat Bang Phra in Bangkok, and many other places. Muay Thai fighters, Actors, even politicians get them. Many regular people have them. In Thailand it's just part of Thai Buddhist/Anamist tradition and belief that many people participate in.

  • update: I'm going to Siam Riep soon! yay! I wonder if I will see any yant being applied in any of the temples there. Can't wait.

  • thank u for this wonderful video

  • to all sak yant seeker and i would like to ask ya questions about this (1) why sak yant ? 2) do ya knows what it does? 3)do think it well hurt or help ya?? If ya don't the rules of it!!!

  • i was wondering did he bless it with the oils and give it a matra because i have one as well khao yod or temple of the nine buddhas

  • Yes, he did that part as well (actually, I think, the most important part) :)

  • do u know the name of ur sak?

  • Top of neck: Maha Yant Phra Chao 5 Phra Ong

The other is a Gao Yord or Yant Grao Paetch. I'm not sure. I'm going by what I was told on the sak-yant forums, as there was a language barrier between me & the Ajarn (I don't speak Thai)

  • I like this music. Could you tell me what kind of song and who sing it. Thank you.

  • The music is called "The Great Compassion Mantra". There's a fast and a slow version. If you google it, you can find a site that will let you download it for free.

  • i,m going in thailand next years and around, summer 2009, If you could send me ur email or something that would be appreciated I want some sak yant.

  • oh thats cool hm... i heard that there are sakyant of animals i mean like tiger dragon monkey bird lizard this kind and does it takes a long time to sak that tattoo of yours?

  • It took a couple hours for what I had done. Usually that's the first part. Animals come 2nd or 3rd trip. I was thinking about doing two days in a row to finish the back next time I'm there. I'm not sure he can or would be willing to do it. I'll have to ask. I plan to ask for Dragons (wisdom) since I think it will be more useful to me than the Tigers (fierce in battle), but I will defer to the Ajarn on this. I'll see what happens when I'm there. Just keeping my mind open.

  • oh cool can you mail me your email address so i can ask some question more easily and be friend with ya?

  • oh cool man hm....does it hurt alot and is this a real sakyant?

  • It didn't hurt too much. You can feel it but I found that I got used to it. As you can see I'm not squirming. I think it depends on what "gets to you" I've seen video of guys squirm. Yes, I believe this is a real Sakyant. I don't know if it makes any difference, but he mostly serves the locals there.

  • Thanks for your comments :)

  • i thought the best sakyant monk is arjan tok(sorry for the bad spelling as my pronoucion is not really that good and my spelling too)

  • I don't know if there is a best one. I have only met this one. I would not put one over another. I would care about genuine vs. not genuine and beyond that it's all good and up to the person receiving the sakyant I suppose.

  • The best one , is probly the one you have a good feeling with, when you see it, instinc.

  • Hi, google vid and nice tat man...do u think he is a 'real' arjan?...i tried to get one a couple of years back by arjan noo ganpadi (sorry about spelling!!, he has allowed fame after tatooing angelina to go to his head slightly and tried to charge an outrageous 20,000 baht for a very small tattoo, a thai friend of mine lives in kanchanaburi and tells me that locals there get there tats (sak yants) from an old monk who charges about 150 baht!!! for a whole arm!

  • Hi, from what I understand a "couple hundred" baht is much more typical for the donation. Don't forget the cigarettes, flowers and energy drink donations :) Mine was more. It cost almost 3,000 for everything (items and baht) and although locals thought it quite expensive, I believe it may have been scaled for me being non-local. From what I understand many Ajarn, especially if they are monks, do not. There's alot more info on the sakyant site. I'm very happy with mine even at the price I paid.

  • yes ajarn noo overcharges..i used to take people there but in the end had to stop because of the feeling of greed an dishonesty i picked up on.

he is a well practised sak yant magician..
