"Searchin'" is a song written by Leiber and Stoller specifically for The Coasters. It was released as a single on Atco Records in 1957. The song has been covered by The Beatles, The Hollies, and The Spencer Davis Group, among many others.
I remember hearing this when I was about 13 yrs old and thought it was wonderful. Not sure how big a hit it was, although it should have been. I read somewhere that before they went pro the Hollies won talent contests so many times they got banned.

I think this was their first big hit in U.K.bak in 63-64?love it !!!!

Yep ... it was their first UK Top 20 hit ... peaked around the 13 mark in October 1963
