I was at work and got a bad stomach ache at around 5pm on a Thursday, I sucked up the pain for about 4 hours then I couldn't take it and I went to the hospital where I threw up a couple of times. Turns out my appendix had ruptured and I got into surgery at 2am on Saturday. After I first woke from the anesthetics the surgeon showed me my appendix in a test tube even though I was too groggy to properly inspect it. But I was out the next day and fully healed in around 4 weeks. (I'm 17)
I had a terrible ache on the lower right of my stomach. On the forth day of the pain my mum decided to take me to the doctors and they said wait one or two more days and if it gets worse go straight to the hospital. Hope it doesnt get bad.... oh and im 13
I had a stomach ache for about 3 days and went to my local doctors. She diagnosed me with Appendicitis and told me to go to hospital. They kept me in for 2 days without preforming surgery, which was odd, since I had all the key symptoms of Appendicitis (blood in urine, high white blood cell count etc.) They gave me an ultrasound and then decided to operate. I had keyhole surgery, which gave me terrible pain (worse than appendicitis) for 2 or 3 days, but felt fine afterwards!
I just had this surgery Saturday night (3 days ago) i find that the worst pain still is the pain from the CO2 gas cause it goes into your shoulder. WORST
Gosh, this looks scary. I can`t believe that happened to me. Thanks God it happened before seeing these videos, otherwise I would`ve got scared as hell. xD
I had this happen to me 2 days ago, but it turned out that i was allergic to morphine and all the other medicines they gave to me, so it made everything worse and till now it hurts a lot..... I threw up 12 times because of the allergies and it hurt and made everything worse everytime i threw up, it got to the point were i started bleeding from the stitches
I had this happen to me 2 days ago, but it turned out that i was allergic to morphine and all the other medicines they gave to me, so it made everything worse and till now it hurts a lot
both of my brothers had this done this year, one of them had it done in february, hes appendix burst a week before surgery and almost died, and my other brother had this done the other day, his wasnt as bad. thank you so much god for giving them both a second chance :)
I just had this done two days ago. I felt fine afterwards, just very sore in my abs. They are still sore today. I never filled the rx for pain killers they gave me, tylenol did just fine. I want to go back to the gym so bad. Thank god I am alive though.
I was 9 i felt like My Stomach Ached But i thought it was normal I went to school It got worst And the last period of my school which was social studies It got worse i couldn't help it! so i went downstairs To wait for my sister i got really mad at her cause i had a migraine and it took her so long I called my dad with tears! so once i entered My mom rushed me into the hospital. During the operation my appendix was about to explode but they took it out 2 monthes of recovery :D Happy b-day me :D
i had mine out last week and the gas they put in your stomach was much more painful that the actual procedure. Well that was only in the recovery room. They gave me 20mg of Morphine and my shoulders and chest were killing me.

a few years ago i had a bellyache and the pain went straight from my right side of hip up my spine i lie 3 days with this bellyache at home and my mom said we need to go to a Doc and he couldn't find anything suspicious... i said i had a enormous pain in my belly... and he said i need to go to another doc he couldn't find anything, i was 3 days in hospital on several areas lieing around and several Doc's couldn't find whats wrong with me i got several treatments like inlet's etc.
Had a bellyache on Sunday morning about 10am. It got worse throughout the day. By 10pm I asked my wife to take me to the hospital because of the pain. I threw up a few times, then they gave me some morphine. This relieved the pain tremendously. They gave me a CT scan, said I had to have the appendix out. At 4:30am they removed the appendix. @kao1969 Had almost exactly the same thing happen to me this past Tuesday. Started out with a stomach ache Tuesday afternoon and by 11 pm the pain got so bad I went to the hospital. They took out my appendix laparoscopically yesterday before it ruptured and had me stay overnight for monitoring. I felt much better after the surgery with some throbbing soreness on the left side of my stomach, which is where they remove the appendix from. Home today a bit bloated from the co2, Oxycodone for pain.
Had my appendix removed a couple months ago,,,, puking, crying, scared, intense pain, sweating, and dizziness for 9 hours befor i was taken to the emergancy room, ughhh its the worst pain ive ever had,,
Had my appendix removed three days ago after a long 6 hours of pain, agony, puking, dizziness, fever and crying (yea im 18 and i cried from the pain) i got it removed.. Surgery was fine, you'r put to sleep and next thing you know you wake up saying damn.. When looking at your bandaid.. Anyway right now im feeling stiff, back hurts and the place where my surgery accured. Its hard to poop but it gets easier other then that i feel fine!
i had my done just over a month ago,the doctor said it was rare for someone my age to get it,im 38 and it seemed to take a while for the painto go away, and i NEVER want a cathater ever again.
they left a tube in me . It went in from the left and extended to the right side. Taking the tubbe out of me was the WORT MEMORY OF MY LIFE. Honestly is was like a SAW movie, I was on NO PAINKILLERS. tHE TUBE WAS LIKE RUBBING ON EVERYTHING INSIDE ME, OMG ITS WAS OUT OF THIS WOLD PAINFUL.
I went through the appendicetomy six months ago. it was really a nightmare for me i ever experienced in my life. though i was away from my family members, thanks to my friends who cared me throughout those painful moments. thanks to the excellent staff of RAH for their awsome service and i was allowed to go home next day.
@charlieslilyflower they said the same to me...and if felt like my swiss roll was on fire when it first came out...and the bowel movement felt like i was giving birth
in august i had strong abnominal pain in my left side that went away after a week, in october it came back in the same spot, after 2 weeks i went to see a doctor and he sent me to the ER, there i had a CT scan and was rushed into surgery. my appendix had burst and everything was green, my muscle contained the blast. even with the pain of the surgery i felt much better. that one nagging pain was gone. the hospital made me stay a week, i was ready to leave in 3 days
i had my appendix taken out about a month ago. they only made one incision in my belly button. it's a very basic procedure and it only took me 4 days to recover.
i woke up at 4am from the pain & i stayed up for 3 hours crying, screaming & pulling on my sheets....& my dad thought i was possessed. -_- [he's a strict catholic]
...the hospital stay was fun though =D it was the first time i had surgery ^.^ [was 15 yrs old] & everyone in my family member did whatever i told them too lol.
@iluvtkandbk dude...i woke up at 3am staying up for 3 hours doing everything you did when mine got infected yesterday. im 14 and its my first surgery, the hospital stay overnight was fun, and my parents are basically doing everything lol. i came home from the hospital like 5hrs ago hahaha
I had the pain last Friday and they did they exact surgery on me on Saturday. Thank god I went to the hospital in the initial stage or I would have been skrewed.
Went to the hospital with lower abdomen pains yesterday and turns out I had appendicitis. Luckily I got out there while it was in the early stages of it.
CT scan showed a slight inflammation so the doctor gave me the choice to have it removed that night or wait 12 hours to see how it looked. Decided to do it last night.
Put me under and had it out. Home now typing this and I actually don't feel to bad. A little sore, sure, but not bad at all.
Morphine Was Tha Best Part, It Helped Soo Much!!(: Ima Start Using Heroine Now,but Anyway Why Was My 3 Keyholes On My Bottom Left Side?????????WTF!!!???WHYYYYYY!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
that's not cool i left in like 2 hours i had it when i was 14. I could not leave until i pissed. The nurse had to help me and she was hot it was awesome.
Kinda strange, My "Keyholes" were on my belly button, Lower Left side & Lower right side and they gave me medics just before I even felt Pain. After a Week I was allowed to leave the Hospital. My very first words after reawakening were "I brauch jetzt dringend an Kaffee" ("I need coffee badly" with bavarian accent) and one hour after that I Removed the IV Port by myself. *lol*
I had mine done 8//25/10 and they left a lot of the gas in me or something because it hurt like a bitch after the surgery in the recovery room, and they didn't clean the KY jelly off very well :) But my dad is the CMO of the hospital so it was pretty cool personally knowing and being comfortable with the surgeons...and my incisions were on my belly button, lower right quadrant and my bladder
ive never been sick more than 2 days so i thought just had a really bad stomach ache, not going to the doctor for 4 days resulted severe complications and a 3 week stay in the hospital
i woke up too early and i wasnt fully conscious so i said in a stoner's voice: "what? where am i? who are you?" and a nurse heard me and said "uh oh. thats not suppose to happen." and she gave me more sleeping gas.
Well then, initSam - you did not have a Laparoscopic Appendectomy - you had a traditional Appendectomy which does not require CO2, or two other incisions. I had an L.A. done Eight days ago. The CO2 goes away faster the more you walk - by day four the gas will quickly go away if you've been getting up and walking around (but don't over do it!). Speedy wishes of recovery to you all! The incisions still give me pain and its day 8... so good luck guys (the belly button hurts the most T_T).
@ArrPeeGeefan I found after having mine it took me a while to get used to the fact I'd just had an operation. I spent most of the time in my ward, because I was unable to move. Mine was close to rupturing, and when I was awake after the operation, the surgeon said I had a lucky escape. They had to pump out my abdomen area with water due to puss or somthing? You will also find after the operation you will have a lot of trapped wind, have a good recovery -_-
lmao at you all, I recently had an operation for apendicitis. It's rubbish about the CO2 gas being pumped in, I just have a 5-6cm incistion on my lower right abdomen. Having 3 insitions to pump your belly, pfffft rubbish. All of you saying about how your belly is still out like a balloon, lmao!
@EvaGiannina1 hi! i just had surgery two days ago and the gas is just going down now. the best thing i did for myself is i took some gas-ex for just general relief which didnt really work that much but it helped a little. i also stayed awy from gassy foods and at one point just stuck to liquids until the gas went down a little. i also would get up and walk around for about five or en minutes every hour just to move the gas bubbles around a little bit and help expel them. its the worst part of it
@BowDownToTheQueen Thanks very much..it been a weak after surgery and i still get little gas when I walk too much...well I had laparoscopic and traditional because there were some complications, so maybe it is for that.
@pureefficient im not like morable obece but im also not a twig so i guess youd say im in the middle, iv had this pain which gets sharper and strong and then weaker as far as intesting and changes depending on waht i do, i work 2 full/job and go to college 4 days with 4 classes so its been interetesting !
When i was 12 I became overwieght due to lack of exercise, muscle loss, and taking a piss was horrible. this crap messed me up badly. I'm happy that i lost the wieght when i was around 13 years old. I began to build interest in wieghtlifting. I'm happy i am as healty as before. Of course I'm still lifting and hard.
I will never forget the day i was damned by this. It appearently exploded. And I was enduring the pain for a day. during which I thought drinking more lemon juice would help. I loved my school . but staying in bed was a bit fun . Even so it became sad to me that i could have been playing more sports catching animals then lying on a bed weak as can be
iv had abdominal pain for a couple weeks and as of tues/weds it got really sharp.... its dull with sharp waves but i can feel it in my back but dont have a fever as i know if im eating but at the same time as soon as i eat i feel sick to my stomach,,,, i had see a dr in dec that rulled it out as ruptured ovarian cyst for 2months in a row i had a peliv exam and she didnt feel anything anim schdualled for another one tomorrow
i remember wen my appendix ruptured..i was in jr high it was so painful im glad its over. I was walkin around for 3 days b4 i had surgery. they say i couldve died. thank goodness for a school nurse
I had my appendectomy done right smack dab in the middle of summer vacation! all was well though, i got to watch cash cab for 10 hours after my surgery haha
one night I had terrible pain in my abdomen and it just kept getting worse and worse till I couldn't bare it anymore and I was rushed to the hospital and after testing they said I needed surgery and I was so shocked and after the surgery the doctor said he had trouble finding the appendic because other organs and stuff were covering it so the surgery took a lot longer ...lucky me
Interesting to wach how procedure is performed. I had mine removed 2 weeks ago and went home 3 hours later. Not much post-procedure pain, just very uncomfortable for a few days and very, very tired from the anesthesia. My bellybutton will never be the same! But I'm thankful for a non-invasive treatment.
i woke up from the pain and i thought it was just my muscles being sore from exercising too much...couldnt bare it anymore so yea i come to the hospital.
I Didnt even know anything was wrong w/ me i had food posioning the day before...and went to the hospital to make sure..then all of sudden they tell me i need emergency surgury!! i was so scared 19yrs old and alone n the hospital..lol..fine now!!
i had this surgery 1 day ago and i ts really painfuul becuase u are using ur adominal muscles to do everything and its really dificilut to do every day things like walk or deficate.
i'm watching this cause my older bro had his removed, he was in so much pain. and now i have the pain there atm and i'v had it before. but it's not bad. just kinda there. but i am focusing it non-stop. cause i know what 2 look for. but i'm able 2 sit upright in this chair without vomiting or shaking or fever so for the time being i'm okay. maybe just a cramp.
i just had my appendix removed on saturday i had a pain going from my bellybutton to my right hip and couldn't get rid of the pain no matter which way i was sitting or lying i was brought in by ambulance and at ten the next morning was down in surgery having the general pumped into me three days later no me bellybutton still hurts with the staples but least dont have to worry about shaving me pubes again they did that for me hahaha but trust me keyhole surgery aint to bad if any ofu have2 get it
@loseends54321 Tell me, did you have the telltale sign of fever? I'm having that lower rt sided pain, pain to the hip and inside of the groin. I've had extensive lap surgery last yr for other stuff, and am medically sort of 'a mess' but now I'm having burning pain in the lower rt side where the appendix is. I'm debating going to my PCP yet but...and yea, sitting, standing, laying down, on that side hurts like hell, btw bending is OUT of the question!
lol dont get afraid. Youl tell whaen your having appendicites. You cant keep your hands staight, vomiting, pain, long stoory short if you feel pain there its probably just a cramp, or you hungrey.
im 13 almost 14 and i had an appendicites on my 13th birthday... the night before i was being sick constantly.even if i hadnt ate anything i was vomiting small ammounts of liquid so i was taken to the walk in centre and they said go to A&E so we did then they said that it was about to rupture when they took it out... they couldnt wait untill the morning they finished the operation at 2 in the morning lol
wat do u feel???? wat if u dont feel any of the symptoms but u do feel a little pain in ur lower right abdomen is that a sign too??? like wen u bend ur legs or sometimes wen u walk it hurts but it doesnt hurt all the time like that bad but ive feeling this for like a week and the pain goes on and off but it doesnt hurt that much... please tell me i wanna know.... =(
umm.. yes pain in lower right abdomen is a big sign. Before i got mine removed, it hurt to walk, cough, move at the waist. I also couldn't eat much or i would throw up.I had a fever too. Im only 16, and not a doctor yet, but you should get this checked out. It could rupture fast, and the pain is much much worse. Mine actually ruptured and it hurt. It also much more dangerous too, this could lead to death. Go get checked out, just in case. Better off good than sorry. Get well soon! :)
these idiots in north america make it so hard,i had my surgery in europe,it was local anesthesia and in about 10 minutes it was done all the surgery.....
haha I just got it done a couple weeks ago, prolly when you wrote this, and my belly button's fine haha. It looks funny for a while, then it turns back to normal, not to worry haha.
gosh havent u guys ever played Trama Center new blood ... in the game u have to do two of these operations in 10:00 minutes!!! so i'm not impressed.. like 30:00 minutes.............
wow..it is cool to see how it is tooken out.i had mine tooken out when i was 13.(two days before i turn 14.)when i started to have pain i was thinking a virus.for 5 DAYS laying in my bed with the WROST pain i have ever had..then my mom took me to the the doctor and they said "go to the ER"and then i had that knockout stuff and then i woke up sore..but that feel a hole lot better..i think that was the best feeling of my life.
Same exact situation with me. The surgeon was busy the next day though with other surgeries so I had to wait until late that afternoon on the next day to be discharged. You still sore?
I just had laparoscopic appendectomy last Monday and was released on Thursday. My doctor said it took about 2 hours for the whole procedure because it was worse than he expected.
Actually he made a hole on my left belly instead of right, in addition to the 2 holes below my navel...I guess it's case by case.
i had this done when i was young but this must be a new way of doing the surgery because i have a scar on the side of my stomach that's like a diagonal slice so maybe back then they used to just cut open and get to the appendix through there. now they use those insertion tubes.
Had this issue April of last year, extremely painful when the appendix is inflamed but once the procedure is done it's not too bad, although the incision holes hurt for 3 or 4 days afterwards.
i am 11 i had mine taken out when i was 10 and the pain befor is like driving a sorwd through your appendix after its done you feel pain only from the stiches. I stayed in the hospital for 3 days
I didn't get laproscopic surgery when I had my appendix removed. I was 7 at the time, and now I just have a faint 2 inch scar, complete with staple marks!
Dec. of last year Mine ruptured because I waited to go to the hospital instead of going right away. when I had abdominal pain, I thought I was just really sick . Coupal days later I finnaly gave in and went. By then it felt like my gut was on fire. Anyways, Doc told me it ruptured and I needed surgery I told him Give morphine NOW please,2 or 3 doses of that diden't work so they gave me this stuff called

I went through the appendicetomy six months ago. it was really a nightmare for me i ever experienced in my life. though i was away from my family members, thanks to my friends who cared me throughout those painful moments. thanks to the excellent staff of RAH for their awsome service and i was allowed to go home next day.

in august i had strong abnominal pain in my left side that went away after a week, in october it came back in the same spot, after 2 weeks i went to see a doctor and he sent me to the ER, there i had a CT scan and was rushed into surgery. my appendix had burst and everything was green, my muscle contained the blast. even with the pain of the surgery i felt much better. that one nagging pain was gone. the hospital made me stay a week, i was ready to leave in 3 days
MultiFluffymonkey 10 months ago
i had my appendix taken out about a month ago. they only made one incision in my belly button. it's a very basic procedure and it only took me 4 days to recover.

*lol*

I had mine done 8//25/10 and they left a lot of the gas in me or something because it hurt like a bitch after the surgery in the recovery room, and they didn't clean the KY jelly off very well :) But my dad is the CMO of the hospital so it was pretty cool personally knowing and being comfortable with the surgeons...and my incisions were on my belly button, lower right quadrant and my bladder

springmasskid92 1 year ago
@springmasskid92 I also had mine removed on Monday (at about 2:00 am). I agree with you, it is remarkably painful!
ElectricUte666 1 year ago
Well then, initSam - you did not have a Laparoscopic Appendectomy - you had a traditional Appendectomy which does not require CO2, or two other incisions. I had an L.A. done Eight days ago. The CO2 goes away faster the more you walk - by day four the gas will quickly go away if you've been getting up and walking around (but don't over do it!). Speedy wishes of recovery to you all! The incisions still give me pain and its day 8... so good luck guys (the belly button hurts the most T_T).
ArrPeeGeefan 1 year ago
@ArrPeeGeefan I found after having mine it took me a while to get used to the fact I'd just had an operation. I spent most of the time in my ward, because I was unable to move. Mine was close to rupturing, and when I was awake after the operation, the surgeon said I had a lucky escape. They had to pump out my abdomen area with water due to puss or somthing? You will also find after the operation you will have a lot of trapped wind, have a good recovery -_-
initSAM 1 year ago
lmao at you all, I recently had an operation for apendicitis. It's rubbish about the CO2 gas being pumped in, I just have a 5-6cm incistion on my lower right abdomen. Having 3 insitions to pump your belly, pfffft rubbish. All of you saying about how your belly is still out like a balloon, lmao!
initSAM 1 year ago
I had surgery 3 days ago and still feel like a balloon...how can I help the gas go out!!
EvaGiannina1 1 year ago
@EvaGiannina1 hi! i just had surgery two days ago and the gas is just going down now. the best thing i did for myself is i took some gas-ex for just general relief which didnt really work that much but it helped a little. i also stayed awy from gassy foods and at one point just stuck to liquids until the gas went down a little. i also would get up and walk around for about five or en minutes every hour just to move the gas bubbles around a little bit and help expel them. its the worst part of it
BowDownToTheQueen 1 year ago
@BowDownToTheQueen Thanks very much..it been a weak after surgery and i still get little gas when I walk too much...well I had laparoscopic and traditional because there were some complications, so maybe it is for that.

I've had extensive lap surgery last yr for other stuff, and am medically sort of 'a mess' but now I'm having burning pain in the lower rt side where the appendix is. I'm debating going to my PCP yet but...and yea, sitting, standing, laying down, on that side hurts like hell, btw bending is OUT of the question!

umm.. yes pain in lower right abdomen is a big sign. :)

I just had laparoscopic appendectomy last Monday and was released on Thursday. My doctor said it took about 2 hours for the whole procedure because it was worse than he expected.
Actually he made a hole on my left belly instead of right, in addition to the 2 holes below my navel...I guess it's case by case.
shepmax21 2 years ago
i had this done when i was young but this must be a new way of doing the surgery because i have a scar on the side of my stomach that's like a diagonal slice so maybe back then they used to just cut open and get to the appendix through there. now they use those insertion tubes.
