Ok I understood most of Sylar's abilities but I dont quite understand Induce Radioactivity. I dont quite understand what does it do. Also I missed much of Heroes series, I only watched some parts of it.
He has more powers though. Lie detection, snap and shatter. (never used but he stole it). he also got the ability from the circus, the tatoo girl. and yes the flying. .. shapeshifting. afaik he never learned the illusion girl's power.
No he lost everything except telekinesis and intuitive aptitude. He must have reacquired precognitive drawing and induced radioactivity in that future.

As Davis says, Sylar's ability (intuitive aptitude) is to understand extremely complex systems. His ability also causes an insatiable hunger to gain more knowledge, which is why he is taking all those lives for abilities.
When he learns Claire's ability (cuts her head open), she does not die, and Sylar actually lets her live by putting the top of her head back on. He does not really want to murder people, but the hunger for knowledge overpowers the restrain.

Wtf are you talking about? Peter and Sylar have 2 COMPLETELY different powers. Peter had the ability to absorb others' abilities, and use them when he just has to THINK about them. Peter could easily absorb anyone's ability in season 2 and the first half of volume 3.
Sylar has to cut open a person's skull, examine the brain, then mimic the powers. In the last half of volume 3, he only demonstrated this part of his main ability with Elle and ONLY ELLE.

Sylar lost the abilities he gained in and prior to season one because of the shanti virus, except for his base power and telekinesis. So basically only those he gained in season 3 are the ones he has.

Peter could only take one ability at a time, that's the rule in Fugitives. Maybe his powers evolve in Redemption.
When Peter said, "I bet you didn't know I took that one from you". He meant that he could only hold on to one power at a time, he must have picked only shapeshifting from Sylar.
In redemption, peter gets healed from a gunshot wound by jeremy's healing touch, which he then mimics. Whats to say he didnt get fully healed back to his empathic mimicry power, where he could hold many at a time?
no, what i mean is the physical aspect of the healing, for example, when linderman (who also had this ability) used his power on a dead plant, it rejuvenated back to a healthy state. What would also happen would be genetic restructuring, as every cell is replenished to its full health, so in theory this would also rebuild peter's power base of empathic mimicry as everything else is slotted back into place, and the synthetic ability rejected by his healing body.
The plant wasn't dead, it was almost going to die. Sure, Linderman brought it back to "life". But he can't bring back the dead.
And no, that doesn't work, this isn't even Claire's spontaneous regeneration it's just the healing touch. You can't use it on yourself.
And even in both cases, you can't use it to regain your powers. Claire's blood only healed Sylar of the Shanti virus which was preventing the use of his powers.
Regenerative powers DO NOT bring back abilities, only Baby Parkman.

In sylar's case, he needs to have a heart-to-heart talk with the person he's trying to take their ability from. Once he cuts open a person's skull and finds how their ability works, he was near-full mastery of their ability. This explains mishaps after absorbing the shape-shifter's and El's ability.
yeah, his ability to see how things work also goes as far as seeing how abilities are used as well, since he can use them to their full extent much faster than others who have refined it over many years of practise. In a matter of minutes or even seconds.
The only reason he cuts open the head is so that he can have a closer look, and can pinpoint exactly what he's looking for a hell of a lot faster than if he was trying to look through someone's head.

I dont know how he has them but im almost totally sure that he lost them because as he says in the 1st episode of the third volume while he was at Claire's home "I lost everything that made me special..." Or something like that anyway. He was able to keep his telekenetic ability because (as i have read online) he was so emmotionally attached to it that his body took it as a natural ability and not as one taken by force like the other ones.

Sylar killed the guy with the shape shifting ability using the old fashion way, dumb fuck. He needs to have a heart to heart conversation with the person to absorb their abilities without killing them, like with Elle.
Elle was the ONLY example of Sylar's empathy side effect of his REAL power which has always been inuitive aptitude.

Wtf are you talking about? Peter and Sylar have 2 COMPLETELY different powers. Peter had the ability to absorb others' abilities, and use them when he just has to THINK about them. Peter could easily absorb anyone's ability in season 2 and the first half of volume 3.
Sylar has to cut open a person's skull, examine the brain, then mimic the powers. In the last half of volume 3, he only demonstrated this part of his main ability with Elle and ONLY ELLE.

@babiscyper Umm, Sylar don't have Empathic Mimicry. He uses Intuitive Aptitude to absorb abilities...the Empathic part is a Bi-Product of his Intuitive Aptitude. Just like how The Haitian can Erase a persons memory and Block Powers. They're both one ability called "Mental Manipulation".

That was what I was talking about. They needed the shapeshifter to make Sylar seem dead. And if Sylar HAD empathic mimicry, he would have absorbed that power without Danko allowing him to KILL the shapeshifter.
And babiscyper ITSELF said that Sylar doesn't have empathic mimicry anymore. For some reason, the scars didn't appear. The writers never explained.
Also, Danko could have simply claimed he put the bullet through Sylar's skull and killed him. He doesn't need Sylar to kill for him.

When Peter said, "I bet you didn't know I took that one from you". He meant that he could only hold on to one power at a time, he must have picked only shapeshifting from Sylar.

In redemption, peter gets healed from a gunshot wound by jeremy's healing touch, which he then mimics. Whats to say he didnt get fully healed back to his empathic mimicry power, where he could hold many at a time?

no, what i mean is the physical aspect of the healing, for example, when linderman (who also had this ability) used his power on a dead plant, it rejuvenated back to a healthy state. What would also happen would be genetic restructuring, as every cell is replenished to its full health, so in theory this would also rebuild peter's power base of empathic mimicry as everything else is slotted back into place, and the synthetic ability rejected by his healing body.

The plant wasn't dead, it was almost going to die. Sure, Linderman brought it back to "life". But he can't bring back the dead.
And no, that doesn't work, this isn't even Claire's spontaneous regeneration it's just the healing touch. You can't use it on yourself.
And even in both cases, you can't use it to regain your powers. Claire's blood only healed Sylar of the Shanti virus which was preventing the use of his powers.
Regenerative powers DO NOT bring back abilities, only Baby Parkman.

are you really that out of touch with heroes? Arthur clearly states that he could 'tap into the empathic mimicry.' later he took El's ability without killing her. In sylar's case, he needs to have a heart-to-heart talk with the person he's trying to take their ability from. Once he cuts open a person's skull and finds how their ability works, he was near-full mastery of their ability. This explains mishaps after absorbing the shape-shifter's and El's ability.

yeah, his ability to see how things work also goes as far as seeing how abilities are used as well, since he can use them to their full extent much faster than others who have refined it over many years of practise. In a matter of minutes or even seconds.
The only reason he cuts open the head is so that he can have a closer look, and can pinpoint exactly what he's looking for a hell of a lot faster than if he was trying to look through someone's head.

No, the only abilities Sylar stole were shapeshifting and Tom Miller's ability. Those were all we saw, Micah's technopathy wasn't included.
For fuck's sake, Peter didn't want Ted's explosion ability but he ended up with it anyway. What made you think that if Sylar had Peter's ability, he could choose not to take flight from Nathan.
PS if you wanted to levitate, flight would be so much easier than TK. Not saying he DID absorb flight from Nathan, because Sylar DOESN'T HAVE empathic mimicry.

I dont know how he has them but im almost totally sure that he lost them because as he says in the 1st episode of the third volume while he was at Claire's home "I lost everything that made me special..." Or something like that anyway. He was able to keep his telekenetic ability because (as i have read online) he was so emmotionally attached to it that his body took it as a natural ability and not as one taken by force like the other ones.
