  • Oh, that's got to be embarrassing.

  • poor empacher :(((

  • How did the thing not break in half?

  • why did u put mens 2nd 12?

  • it's not always the coxes fault, once the boat gets close to the bank the stream compounds the problem by forcing you ever nearer the bank!! however, I would be very annoyed if a boat came home like that!!

  • Painful to see the bow hanging as they lift the shell out of the water!

  • what a fucking idiot of a coxswain. broke an empacher D:

its really not that hard to steer the damn things. (i have coxed 2 seasons, so dont say i have no idea how hard it is) also, if you somehow lose control of the boat (ie. rudder cable snaps) yell 'check it down' before you hit the damn bank.

  • ahahah what gay zoot suits

  • this is why women shouldnt be allowed to cox...

  • What's a coxwain for ?

  • to everyone who is saying ... oooh woman drivers and stuf f it probably wasnt her fault if the boat was unbalanced power wise it is incredibly hard to steer and maybe just before the crash someone caught a crab sending the boat the wrong direction ........... so think before you slag of a probably very talented coxwain

  • @brtenzogibbo Shut the Fuck up.

    -sincerely the Rowers

  • @danecooktz wow immature little deuche bag ... doesnt even put forward an arguement just goes " shut the fuck up" wow

  • In front of all those people!!

  • coxswains have no idea what difficulty is until they erg!!! Yell raise the rate when im freaking half dead makes me wana punch someone in the face

  • i'm a coxswain and i can say it's not easy...but it IS easy to tell when you're going straight towards the shore so this woman clearly either wasn't paying attention or can't steer for her life.

  • Good Game $70,000+

  • @NikkiCryerx I bow a pair. I manage to do all of that and row. Must be real difficult.

  • that boat is very expensive

  • wow wow wow, it's hard to cox, I know because i am a cox, in races you have to focus on motivating the crew, telling them where they're at, find the things they're doing wrong and tell them how to fix them, tell the crew where they are in the race and add to that steer int a straight line and away from other boats, it's not easy.

However, that coxswain was doing a pretty average job if they went into the bank. And i'd absolutely fume at them if I was there at the time.

  • @NikkiCryerx its hard to cox? maybe if you are blind

  • well, at least it was an old(er) Empacher....

  • Cox's are thick, FACT!!! This is why we have converted our coxed 4 to a coxless 4!!! :P

  • @DocRoe92 your a faggot go try coxing and then complain

  • @brtenzogibbo Haha, i have coxed, i'm thick too, but i didn't crash it into bank on my 3 hour coxing stint on a stretch we'd never even rowed before!!!

  • does anyone else ever look at an injured boat and wince like you're in pain? It's always like I can feel it... horrible...

  • how embarsing !!!

  • I'm pretty sure the bowball is not supose to be facing the stern but that's just me.

  • whelp, there goes 10 grand! yayyyy

i'd shove the front of that empacher up that coxswains ass, i'll tell ya that!

  • Crain's helmsman was strong but broke a Empacher frankly I would not be in place of skipper

  • I am a cox myself, so I usually try to stick up for other coxies, but sometimes, there is just no excuse. A pole is can be hard to see, the shore is not.

  • rowing , it keeps us in work . its handy to see where your going

  • way to ruin an empacher

  • Comment removed

  • did it sink?

  • @shibalry You're wrong.

  • also is it just me or does the title in the video suggest that there are 12 people in the boat (XIII)

  • thats why you dont give inexperienced coxes empachers to cox

  • that coxswain is a noob

  • when there's a hole in the bow, you shouldn't have bow pair row. simple logic.

  • One of the eights from are club got totaled in a crash at head of the trent 2 weekends ago about 2 meters of the bow was taken off!

  • if i was in that boat, i woulda just jumped out and swam for my life.

  • there's still no reason why thy stop rowing in a race....

  • TITANIC II

  • stupid coxswain.....

  • noooooo not another empacher

  • everythin fine, keep rowing guys (:

  • goodbye bow

  • there goes the front of £20000 worth of boat .

  • goodbye Sir Roger Bannister

  • i usually pick up the bits LITERALY , and others ; )

  • omg why would u put a retarded coxswain with a Empacher.. poor thing, what a retaded coxswain

  • Failure!!

  • oh my f***ing god

    the poor empacher boat

  • the poor empacher!

  • Sir Roger Banniester would be fucking pissed!

  • @ausTopGear hahahaha

  • The poor boat!!

  • im in hoyoke, some ppl had gone under a bridge nd tore off the fin, put like a 2 foot gash in the boat, it was a 8. i seen it in theboat house at jones ferry

  • Poor bastards that would have been extremely embarrassing if you were on that team! (everyone looking/laughing at u) haha hate to be the cox! be prepared to get ya ass KICKED!

  • At Melbourne, I will row the eights and it would be hard for me. I have to look for bridges. I found out one boat sank!!

  • The Cox Should say! EASY OARS. And look straight, not looking at the birds.

  • oh mein gott wie kann man nur so schlecht sein.

  • Poor Bannister

  • retarted cox

  • perhaps if the cox was male.... :/

  • lol

  • u stupid woman!!.. -.-

  • haha what a suckish coxn lol my coxn is awesome

  • amazing cox.

  • what a bell-end of a cox

  • I was in a crew that crashed that very same boat in 1999. We didn't hit a tree, just another crew, dressed all in blue and white, looking a little like "Tesco value shite".

  • shit we dont even have empachers at my school how could go and ruin one like that

  • that boat just got... JACKED UP!

  • pity, pity..

I was once in a training with a cox who hadn't seen a boat before and she did better than this guy.

  • omg................

  • what waaaas the cox doing to a lovely, lovely empacher?!?! :(

    ouch

  • is dat an empacher!!!!

our club cant aford a new janousek!!!!

  • wow get the cox some glasses!

  • wow that cox wasnt so good crashing an empacher...

  • Way to ruin a 60 grand Empacher. When I rowed in my school's empacher, we would be punished for putting it in the water too fast. I can't imagine what this crew's coach would have had to say about it. I rowed bow a few times, and was always reminded that bow is the first to get killed or hurt. Bow seat on this boat is one lucky SOB.

  • Oh !!! In my rowing club empacher are only give to the senior !!

If only i could take the boat for me before the crash happenned ^^

  • well somebody (the cox) better got in big trouble for that...a boat like that costs a fortune...

  • That is pathetic. The cox should have been farther off shore, I was Bow once and I had an idiot cox and saw my 40 grand shell heading into a pole and put so much drive on 1 stroke I swear I heard the rigger crack. Really the shame of carrying your broken empacher through a crowd of people especially the cox must have been horrific.

  • ma che razza de sfigai

  • haha! ouch its a nice pacher as well

  • stupid coxwain

  • this is ridiculous, the coxswain's job is not that hard, don't hit things!

  • @shibalry Have you ever tried to steer an 8?

  • @shibalry Hey. The coxswains job is hard. I find this a insult considering i am a coxswain. We have a mental game making sure we dont Hit things. Keep track of our rowers. Watch the other boats. and more. So please dnt say our job isnt tat hard. Thanks. I get they should watch where they are going. noticing they were that close to shore. shore is easy to see. but things like poles are sometimes hard. So please dont judge coxswains.

  • @dontcomecryingtome whell, a good stroke can do all of that and still row so i don't really see why your job is so hard

  • @shibalry as a coxwain i find that rather offensive but that coxwain was a dumbass

  • @shibalry youve obviously never been a cox .... on race days it is the most stressful thing i have ever experienced nerves got to her give her a break ... but yeah that boat looked pricey

  • @shibalry Especially when it's an empacher 8!

  • omg_!

  • way to go cox. first year?? still pretty horrible.

  • ooouuucchh!!!!!! and that was an empacher as well!!!

  • lol pembroke 2nd 12!

  • damn, get a better coxwain

  • omg what a jurk!!!

  • what the hell was the coax doing i am 14 and i can do better than that

  • Comment removed

  • oh man that looks so painful. i can just feel my back cracking at 0: 10

  • So you got to oxford

yet you dont know roman numerals???

    mens 2nd XII (12)

  • i doubt who ever sir roger bannister is happy

  • Um hello? 4 minute mile?

  • Roger Bannister was the first person to run a mile in under 4 minutes

  • haha the club treasurer is going to be slightly pissed!

  • oh now that's embarassing...i'd hate to be responsible for that. and it was an empacher, too....ouch

  • ...worst cox ever

  • so who pays the $3000 repair bill? lol

which club is that? coz im never going rowing with them on the river haha.

  • It's Pembroke College, Oxford University.

  • that almost looks like the marietta river

  • ohhh the embaresment walking through a crowd w/ an 8 w/ a snapped tip

  • all i can say is LOL!!!

  • good cox. From which club ? And what about the refs ? The coaches ?

  • I know it is hard to stear those 8's but still you should never get that close to land unless your in a chanel or canal.

  • all i can say is... sh!t.

  • now thats what i call "empacher bashing"

  • if I were them i would kil the guy who was stearing

  • Sir roger is actually back in action again this summer, and shall be racing this afternoon, he's a hardy old chap.

  • Crunch.

  • wow...well i can bearly steer a gig boat....butt id feel so bad for that cox! niice boat too!

  • whaah oh god, poor boat, I think that's the last time the cox will ever get in THAT boat.....

    If its a new empacher , €70000..

  • wow...thats pretty much the cox's only job....how do you fuck that up?

  • things to look out for:

    THE SHORE

  • ah shit that was an empacher too

    what was that cox thinking

  • lol

  • hahahahahahahahahahaha...

    hahahahahahahahahahaha!

  • keep your point! and all of these troubles (crashing) will go away.......

  • Poor Kid (cox)

    Man, that boat stopped quick

  • Wow that would suck, having to walk the jacked up boat back by everyone. Talk about embarrassing.

  • owned...

  • 'pacher even

  • Guys, that was a 'packer, shame on you.....

  • BOW SIDE PRESSURE!!!

  • love the way it just stops so suddenly

  • being a coxswain myself ,i struggle to comprehend how the coxswain didnt steer, or say harder on bow/starborad side

  • I think they need to teach their coxies how to steer before letting them race . . .

  • ohman... walk of shame much -___-''' that would actually suck... i remember coxing an 8 for the first time and a Prince Alfred junior quad scull popped out fromm my blind spot a little to late and we snapped out bow off about a ft off the ball... i felt sooo bad.. luckily it was just training and it was the shitty(er) boat. still these things should be avoided as much as possible.

  • so that microphone around the cox's head is just a pretend one for show?

  • byebye coxie. Oh, and don't forget to pay for the $20,000 boat.

  • pachers are a bit more expensive than 20k...

  • lol

  • haha, that happened to me in a four..

  • When you are rowing you don't hear anithing . that's why they don't stopped

  • Hate to say it, but having been a successful coxswain, that is the saddest thing I've ever seen. bet she wasn't a cox for much longer. How the heck could she have not seen that?

  • The same thing happened at the Hampton Head 2007 in Feburary 07. They held up the race I was waiting in a quad for nearly an hour beacause of them !!

  • hmmm. this was at regatta, right? That blows.

  • I was the 7 man in that boat, the rudder wire did not snap, the cox fucked up, it happens.

I could perhaps have won blades that day, (we were gaining on Wolfson college) but never mind, I like to think I am over it now :)

  • empacher down.

  • Another stupid cox

  • i bet that cox got shit 4eva 4 that one

  • All the gear, no idea!

  • oh dear? new cox?

  • Sir Bannister is going to be pissed off

  • what kind of branch was hanging there? was it made of stone or something?!

  • hahahaha 20.000 € per boat round about right??

    who was stearing?

  • why is this video title "men's second 12"... eight in roman numerals is IIX, not XII...

  • No, eight in roman numerals is VIII.

And yeah, they had the misfortune to hit something VERY solid, concrete embankment or something.

Boats are resilient though, they probably fixed it, but every beating makes it slightly less good. I've known boats suffer worse that that and get repaired.

  • ooops....the small guy with bull horn screwed up ! lol

  • They seemed to hit something very solid, is it a concrete bank under the bushes?

  • It's not *that* sharp a bend, I know it well. He should have got bow side to have firmed up and stroke side to use ghost pressure. Ah well. Glad it wasn't me :-)

  • yeah, helloooow, and this with an empacher, niiice, our coach would kill us!

  • I was in this event (not the crew that crashed!) and even though Pembroke were my arch rivals, I should let defend them. This wasn't the coxes fault. The rudder-wire snapped, and there is a VERY sharp bend in the river...

  • oh mein gott der steuerfrau würd ich was husten das gibts ja garnich!!!!

  • stupid stupid cox!

  • That cox is f-ing pissed!

  • haha sucker how the hell did the cox manage tht.

if tht'd been our cox they wudve been killed

  • as i cox myself, i feel this poor fella's pain

  • was the cox killed after that race? I know ours would've been.

  • same here lol

  • brilliant cox

  • Two words

    Dumb

    Shit

  • wat a fucking idiot of a coxy...they have one job and fuck it up somehow

  • oh the nice empacher boat! they're so expensive!!

  • !!! POOR BOAT!! and in front of all those people... like a walk of shame...

  • SIR ROGER BANNSTER - LOL!

  • MPEACHW

  • ouch

  • thats 80 grand down the drain
