btw the sneak bonus apply's to all weapons but varys depending on the weapon type, so one handed blades get x6 and bows get x3 and two handers get x1 etc.

I think the damage boost thing you're talking about applies to all weapons. Just attack while sneaking when they aren't looking. Also, while doing your next contract you will probably find a shrine to Nocturnal. When you reach level 10, go back to it and complete it's quest. It will make lockpicking MUCH easier.
