  • I've never played with the savage world system but I've been researching and it sounds like just what I need! I'm a busy person... ( Work, School, Friends, Band... ) and I was running a World of Darkness game that I loved and my players loved. Thing was that it took forever for me to set it up, and make a good story to play with the players. Savage Worlds sounds like a fast, easy game system, and what I've researched about Sundered Skies sounds awesome! Has be excited to run it!

  • more firefly than farscape, in my opinion.

  • Hrmm, seems to me they stole alot from Death Gate Cycle from Margaret Weis in this one, which is ok because it was such a cool and original idea.

  • Savage Worlds is very cool

  • I know a lot of people out there like accepted, standard fantasy, but stuff like this really energizes my creativity.

  • Exactly. Sundered Skies is something different enough that I can get excited about it and get my players to think outside the usual box. I look forward to playing this one.

  • let me/us know how it goes!

  • Will do!

  • I will be starting a Sundered Skies campaign this weekend and am really looking forward to it. This will be the first time both myself and my players have played Savage Worlds and Sundered Skies. Both the rules and setting are really exciting me and it sounds like I've got a solid group of PCs. I will report on how the first adventure went after the game.

  • Ran the first adventure for my Sundered Skies campaign. We had a blast. The rules were very quick and simple to use. No long lists of special adjustments and modifiers to remember. Combat moved quickly and was always exciting, even though I didn't use the enemies to their full capability. The setting proved to be very intriguing to work with and I see a lot of potential for future adventure paths. All in all, a complete and total hit! Highly recommended!

  • Picked this up and thus far it is really good! The world of Sundered Skies is so bizarrely different that I think it will make for some great new horizons for my players to explore. In some of its basic themes, it almost reminds me of the D&D setting, Dark Sun, which was my absolute favorite D&D world. Life is harsh in the Sundered Skies and the inhabitants have to be tough to survive. I'm really hoping to run this game soon.

  • Good review. One point of clarification for those that are interested in the game though: It's not put out by Pinnacle Entertainment. Sundered Skies is produced by Triple Ace Games.

  • The copy used has absolutely no mention of Tripe Ace Games. The book is copyrighted and trademarked under Pinnacle and produced under license by Studio 2 as of 2008 and the making of this episode. I see the adventure "Sundered Skies: Fate of the Summoner" available through Tripe Ace Games.

  • Sorry. I just realized that the copy used must be one of the hard backs originally produced by PEG. IIRC, TAG spun off (sort of; the guys in TAG were all freelancers for PEG) from PEG after Sundered Skies went to print and so the first print run were all produced by PEG and bear their imprint. Since then PEG has transferred the rights to Sundered Skies to TAG. To make a long story short, TAG is now the publisher of all the SS, but all of the hard copies from the first run are from PEG.

  • I'd be keen to see

    1) Shadowrun 4

    2) Monsters and Other Childish Things

  • what a bw Slipstream

  • Its coming soon. Still reading/digesting the book.

  • Hi! I'd like to make a few suggestions for some mostly "older" RPGs that I'd really like to hear your opinion on:

    - Ravenloft d20 version, by Arthaus.

    - Mage, The Ascension (2nd or Revised Edition), by White Wolf.

    - Hunter, The Reckoning, by White Wolf.

    - Fury of Shadow (Midnight boxed set supplement), by Fantasy Flight Games.

    - Shackled City adventure path, by Paizo.

    - Pathfinder RPG Beta, by Paizo.

    - Pathfinder adventure paths, by Paizo.

    - And, why not, the old D&D 3.5 ruleset? :-)

    Thanks!

  • Not to be a bother, but I would like to see a review of Kult, the horror RPG.

  • I HATE generic fantasy, the Warhammer-realm is perhaps the only "generic" fantasy world I like. However, fantasy with a twist usually works excellent. And this sounds VERY cool, so I might have to look into it.

  • Thank you for that review, Kurt. I think this might be what I needed to convince me to pick up Savage Worlds. I'm just blown away by how unique and awesome Sundered Skies looks. I'm thinking of making it my next RPG purchase. I've been looking for an interesting alternative to a D&D-esque fantasy and I think I just found it. I can't wait to bring this one to my game table!

  • I would like to see a review of the new Dragon Warriors RPG, please.

  • this sounds great, i've only recently gotten into SW, and im really enjoying it. This looks like something straight up my ally... i love the odd and twisted things that accompany savage worlds...

  • Nice! Nice! Niiiiice!

  • Cool.

  • I so wanted to like this (I kinda know the guy wo wrote it) I liked the idea of it so much but it left me a little cold to be honest, am presently happier running desolation

  • Hey Kurt, could you cover some of the supplements for Godlike or Mutants and Masterminds?

  • I second that motion!

  • Have you gotten a chance to look at Solomon Kane w/ Savage Worlds under the hood?

  • Check out review # 39 or 49.

  • Could you review Greg Stolzes Reign?

  • The bottom of that map looks like a smiley face sort of. Hey, can you review Iron Claw?

  • I dig your new background, it's sweet!
