I was in the stade for this final. What the vid doesn't show is the atmosphere before the race. The crowd was singing "allez les bleus" like if it was Zidane on the pitch. The atmosphere was incredible. I was around the 250m and when I saw Raquil was so far from the pack I thought "poor guy is screwing up what should hae been the race of his life". Then the incredible happened. Don't even talk about the atmosphere after the race...

I HATE this race. Jerome Young was later BANNED for life, after his second failed drugs test. The US fed hid his first positive from 1999 and the cheating little runt wound up on with Olympic gold and a wrold record in the 4x400! The USA are just full of cheats-

Tyree Washington was never awarded the gold medal even though we all know he deserves it! Oh and surprise surprise the other American in this race, Calvin HArrisson has also been banned for life, along with his identical twin!

I ran against marc back in 2006 and he is a hell of an athlete.. We ran at a smaller meet in Metz, France. I can remember when we ran at the French Nationals back in 1997-98... "Welcome to the quater milers club" he used to say!!

Respect to Raquil. That was large distance he had to make up. In fact, the first time I watched this, I didn't even notice that he snuck back in the race. I still wonder why he was so far back so early in the race though, but I guess he wasn't focusing on anyone else; he just ran -his- race.
