The bass at the start of this song is quite similar to Pink Floyds song "One of these days", isn't it? My opinion.. ;)

@Ewajzna however, OOTD includes Roger's bass guitar, this bass line is made as a combination of bass synthesizer and bass guitar. There is a slight difference (if you know how it s written you can occasionally hear both synth and guitar there) and also a bit other accents.

Culminating in a bloody mess as we stumble along trying to inflict damage on each other as THIS song plays from the 4 minute mark onwards. Finally, we fall; weak & exasperated on my front lawn. We then ask my wife to play "Black Celebration" so we can catch our breath. Afterwards, we go out for some pints of ale at the local micro brewery.

This is easily one of my favorite closing songs to an album. The more I hear this song, the more unsettling it is when you think about Dave Gahan's drug problems around the time it was recording. Especially disturbing: the lyrics are of a person claiming to be past their addiction, yet every time it's declared, it's followed with "sometimes", as it's a problem that cannot be solved.
