  • The Des O'Connor Show played in the States as a summer replacement for- if I recall correctly- the Kraft Music Hall. Now, of course, we don't have summer replacements,

and a season is 26 episodes, not 39... although again I could be wrong, it might be less. The D.O'C show wasn't so bad, just old-fashioned English music hall entertainment, heavy on using American guests. It was on Wednesday nights, maybe '72 or '73, I never saw Des before or since.

  • @defundthewar hi just watched des being interviewed by piers morgan.old des is a show business legend here in uk we saw him in leeds last year nearly 80 and still going strong!

  • @tivtomorley123 Des didn't make a dent here in the States, maybe because music hall type of entertainment- which I like- was already long past its heyday. Many American comedy-song-and-dance types also wound up in road productions, dinner theater, or worse. Piers Morgan laid a big egg in the States; he is seen- by very few- on CNN. He replaced Larry King, who was more entertaining, if only to see how senile he was, how inept, how unintentionally funny he was.

  • What the hell is the legendary Phil Silvers doing with this idiot.Utter dross.
