That spin at 3:46 is EXTRAORDINARY...to turn the start of a scratch spin into that GORGEOUS almost spiral-like position...wow! I really enjoyed the program as a whole, too...intersting variations on her layback, too...there were moments that reminded me of Janet Lynn...the carriage of her body.
Read an article about her. She won Junior Nationals in 1961 and was invited to skate in the exhibition for Worlds. She and her mother had tickets for THE PLANE but her snooty private school felt her skating was shameful and let her know if she went, they'd kick her out.She wanted to go to Harvard and then med school(No easy feat today; but must have been even tougher for a woman in the 60s)so she didn't go. She said she had been angry at her school for being closed minded; but it saved her life.
what i love about youtube is it introduces us to many skaters we may have otherwise not heard of. i hadn't heard of Lorraine but i like this performance. anyone know what she went on to do after this?

Btw, she DID end up going to Harvard and then to Stanford medical school. She now works for Bayer doing research for hepatitis treatments.

She became a psychiatrist,
Many of her closest friends were lost in the plane crash that occured on the way to the 1961 World Championships in Prague.
