hi! :) great video but iv been playing blues for a while now and i gonna try some country now but do you guys hawe any tips on getting country tone? what effects etc?
@gibsonsg995 Telecaster + Fender tube amp, and you want some good mid range and treble in there. A compression pedal is really helpful, because it brings out the sustain of the guitar which helps to distinguish it from an acoustic. Just watch the low bass, too much bass will make it sound like jazz blues.
why the fuck is the guitar in a diagonal position... i mean kinda hard to tell where he puts his fingers but of course its not a problem for me because im better than you.. jajaja just kidding
Thanks very much for all your efforts Joe. I think these are great lessons, covering a wide range of styles and levels. I've been playing for years and there's still some stuff in here for me. Keep up the good work.
I like some of this guy's stuff, but if you want to learn bluegrass I'd suggest there are many better resources on Youtube. (I'm an intermediate player--at best--and 'unlearning' bad habits picked up from never taking lessons--such as minimizing left hand movement and keeping fingers just above the fret board. In this example, Joe's left fingers are all OVER the place...)
@suckemgood True--and looking back at my comment, hope people don't think I'm discrediting Joe's line of video. He's showing a lot of stuff from a lot of genres, which is something I FULLY endorse. I respect purists in various disciplines but it's great to bring new/different styles into jams/gigs. I have learned a bunch of stuff from Mr. Dalton. The "Nashville Shuffle" was my introduction to those type of slide chords. Now I use 'em all the time. Thanks Joe!
this is about as easy as it gets to piece together without tabs.i suggest any new guitar player sit down and try and foiguire this out. jusat start with the chords root note and mess with the scale. its not that hard at all and after you piece it together u will feel really good about it and feel like you have accomplished something and you will have taken a huge leap in your guitar playing skills. tabs are good at times but they can hijack your learning if u are not careful
@MiniMurray ok ALLSTAR. whatever you say. maybe the guy just started playing guitar. maybe he's 12 years old. and why do you care how good he is or what he needs to learn?? at least hes trying to learn. Dont be so ignorant. Im soo fckn sick of all these ppl who have all condescending comments posted on a guitar lesson page. If youre soo fucking great at giutar, then why do you need to even check this page out.????
@johnsull66 that are some wise words :) im not joking im playing guitar since february 2011 and i made it to the lick Pedal Steel 5 . Its a very very beautiful lick :)

Excellent short demo of this style of lick. Seems aimed at players who already have their rudiments & chord theory together. Perfect quick lesson!

@jimmyglitch This is not a technique display, it's a lick display.
