  • I love this song... both the U2 and P.O.D. versions but the Charlton Heston clip at the start was pretty unnecessary and distracted from the music and over all message of the song.

  • i need 11 bullets !!!

  • this song is about the band playing the hardest, most edgy sound I have ever heard form them. Not one of the fails. The drumming: driving, relentless. The bass: varied, pacy, hard. The guitar: ah the guitar. does it sing or does Bono? who cares. this song is 24 years old, EL Salvador long forgotten, but every politial and musical element is a true today as it was then. and their passion to play it seems unabated. Gloria!!!

  • it would be nice to see edge with jeff beck.

  • look like John Cena at his debut....4:03

  • I've always maintained that U2 live is a damn near religious experience.

  • what do the man say about guns.. cant hear ;(

  • @MadeOfCrazyWood Turn up your speakers

  • @supercooldude2121 it's that, that im not so good at english -.-

  • The "Substitute" has my spelling all #Stoned.

Oops! Sorry about that mess - it's just Words.

    Peace out. XxQP

  • Dam, that was FKG Amazing. !!!

and I never missed a show in So Cal from 80' to now, Never Have I Ever them play like like this live Ever (!!?!!).

Wish they would, how's Anaheim Sound to you Edge ?

    Of course you too B,

but this Song was make for The Edge. RockITbaby!!!!

  • Best Version of Bullet the Blue Sky. The End of this song, Is just very different then the other Endings. This one Rocks. The Rattle and hum Version is cool too.

  • These guys got a lot of balls talking about Walmart and slappin down hundred dollar bills.

  • @endgammer Speaking the truth

  • all live version are better than studio version. we like strong distorsion guitar edge like the fly too. /watch?v=tfcWtxCu3bg&NR=1

  • If you look at Adam Clayton nowadays, he's so grey.

  • did he said whole lotta love in 3:36 ????

  • @GalledZXZ yeah he does... if you listen to what the edge is playing you'll figure otu it's quite similar to whola lotta love's main riff

  • @chisme92 That's why I love it ! haha This is fuckin' amazing !!!!!!!!!!! I've just came back from 360 tour .. They are awsome !!!

  • Very very good performance.

  • Anyone knows the name of the intro-song?

  • YOU ARE STUPID Charles .

  • bullet to the blue sky in the tour 360 in 2011 ? :)

  • U2, until of the end of the world

  • The Edge - the magician!

  • Bring back the IRA and the 'troubles'.. U2 had better songs when they were pissed off about Northern Ireland... btw; this is the best version of their best song!

  • @Grandizer8989 you obviously dont understand that u2 is a band of peace not troubles.

your comment just proves this, you idiot.

  • Freakin awesome!

When I saw them on the PopMart Tour, they did a version of this song that laid over the noisy drums from Miami but it's not on the PopMart video. Anyone know where to find film or audio of that?

  • @BunnyProle

    popmart las vegas

  • yup, I was there; BAM!

  • There's absolutely notthing wrong or untrue what the late Charlton Heston said..... This is a great performance!

  • u2 at there best on this tour thats why the band released two dvds recording of the same tour, dont think they have ever done that.(slane castle-boston),

  • C'est le rêve cette version, la voix de Bono est énorme, si seulement il pouvait la retrouver et nous refaire une version de ce style sur le 360 !

  • This song couldve been wriiten a week ago considering our recent tragedy.

  • The intro is amazing!

  • Best edge solo in this song

  • The Gun in the hand of a bad person is a bad thing. Nobody typifies that like Mark David Chapman. Hence why Bono mentioned his name.

  • BONO FUCKED UP THIS SONG BY PUTTING THE NAME OF JOHN LENNON'S KILLER IN IT. WHAT WAS HE THINKING???

  • @LitlleBastrd132

This is part of the effect for the song. On this tour it was about gun controls (or the lack thereof) in the United States and how any crazed loony can open a bank account and get a gun. That Mark 'he can rot in hell' Chapman robbed the world of one of it's finest people. It's about the notoriey someone like Mark Chapman beleved he could get by murdering John Lennon. It's hardly a f@#k up, it's rock & roll theatre at it's finest, imo.

  • @LitlleBastrd132 ,

    I couldn't agree more....

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW, Just enjoy!

  • the n-word was a spin on john lennon....i think he was talking to john.....

  • id love for them to give this a spin on the 360 tour

  • does any1 know the artistic significance of using the n-word. I mean i understand why everything else is there and the message they're trying to get across, but what's the significance of that part?

  • @stuim41 Has something to do with John Lennon, i think!

  • One of my top favorite bands, U2 ROCKS!!

  • ONE HUNDRED.....TWO HUNDRED....THREE HUNDRED!!!!

Such a spectacular version of this song. God, tons of chills here.

  • those guys are still amazing, they always are

  • some say that this is the best edge solo for this song. I strongly disagree.

Compare this one to the popmart mexico or achtung baby rotterdam and it does not even come close

  • oh man... really... the best...

  • Sounds like he was possessed. :D

  • Edge's solo is absolutely epic !!!! =D

    I love this guy !

  • this is the one. ThANK YOU EDGE

  • This song's music sounds like a total rip-off of Ted Nugent's "Strangehold"

  • @PatrickMc1nerney ..interesting, since both songs have a very similar timing and are both about guns, yet bullet moves down the minor pentatonic scale and stranglehold moves up, i wonder if it was deliberate in contrast to the attitude of nugget head being pro gun to U2 being anti - it adds more meaning to me that you bring up this similarity. but the minor pentatonic scale is even older than music as we know it as far as calling it a rip off .... don't mean to bug you, but it seems interesting

  • what a great solo by the Edge; what a powerful message too. i may look like an idiot for asking this, but who's the guy they show being interviewed in the beginning?

  • @swa1570 Charlton heston, pro NRA supporter.

  • Give it hard Edge, great guitar solo, you rock

  • the edge is just another guitar player? some people couldn't be more wrong!!

  • the edge IS u2 !

  • This multi-millionaire trashing America and the Second Amendment is as hypocritical as Goldman-Sachs trashing America... oh,wait, Gold-Filled-Sacks actually *DID* trash America... D'OH!

Anyway, since ol' Paul "Bono" Hewson is so tight with da bruthas, I'll let HIM go into da 'hood, and gather up all da gunz, soze no one gets hurt no more, LOL!

  • and they say The Egde can't solo... pshhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • This is truly epic. I remember when I first saw this on the Elevation Tour dvd and just about $hitting myself with the 'pull the trigger, I'm a rock & roll n!gger, bigger than jesus on a bumper sticker' line. Utterly collosal performance.

  • Agree with everyone who says this is the best version ever!!!! Breathtaking speech!!!

  • that was seriously incredible...a perfect example of art and politics seamlessly merging into 1 performance

  • GOD DAMN WHAT A PERFORMANCE!! UGGHH FUCKING INCREDIBLE!!!!!

  • GOD DAMN WHAT A PERFORMANCE!! UGGHH

  • a gun is a gun, nothing else

  • breathless for 8 minutes!

  • @rinocerulalb yeah..

  • what a tune

  • This is an amazing song !!! I´ll never forget the first time I listen to this song live !! U2 FOREVER

  • The whole U2-Live in Boston DVD, especially the part with this beautiful song is "example to anyone who wants to look perfect rock show".By the way, The Edge' solo is fantastic, out of time, unforgettable master-piece for future generations.

  • Yhis is rock n'roll, this is U2!!!!!!!!!

But I'm french and I don't understand the lyrics,so if someone canhelp me...

  • This is a school example how should sound, looks and feel an ADVANCED rock song who transfer a message to the WORLD.About the Edge's solo at 4:0 i don't have words, simply brilliant.U2 are one of the greatest, greetz from Macedonia!

  • If aliens exist and if they land on earth, Edge's guitar can talk to them.

  • @rmsolympic1 especially if they love them some digital delay; he's the master

  • @rmsolympic1 Cool...

  • @rmsolympic1 haha best comment ever

  • @rmsolympic1 Yeah way better than Close encounters theme!

  • @leshager2009 the 3rd amendment has nothing to do with the 2nd. soldiers cant be quarterd in your house. doesnt mean the government cant take your guns away and terrify you by having soldiers guard the streets, threatning you while you dont have a gun. dont take away the amendment, try make it more difficult to get guns legally. besides, criminals will find ways of getting guns, maybe from mexico or canada. thats what stalin did. also, you cant force people to quarter soldiers even in wartime.

  • Pull the trigger on the ROCKnROLL Nigger..!

  • Hopefully I get to see this performed one day!!!

  • @rodjarB hope they pull it up on the rd and 4th leg of the 360 tour..saw them at the first leg and maaan i read before they didnt play this song i was a bit disapointed cause its one of my alltime favourites...but hey i saw ultraviolet :D

  • It's like having a climax, hearing the Edge's guitar solo on this song!

  • that's what gun lockers are for ;)

  • you take away our guns you take away our freedom... i am of course speaking of the 2nd amendment in the U.S. Constitution.... all men have the right to bear arms. besides, in illinois, you cant carry a concealed weapon.

  • @GQOfficial fascinating , do you know of the laws in other states .. concealed , not concealed etc , I would love to learn more of the american ways despite the fact that i have been there 17 times already.

  • well i know that in indiana you can carry a concealed weapon so i would move there if i was a gun enthusiast, but i like illinois because the area i live in has very nice weather and i also live by chicago... so yeah there's something i know about other states. i believe that illinois should get rid of the concealed weapon thing and that gun control is a terrible thing... because criminals dont listen to the law. but yeah thats cool your getting interested in america's state's laws

  • Who is the person who speaks during interview?

  • Charlton Heston

  • Oh my god....!

  • I love U2 and this song, but I think the anti-gun message they're trying to push here is the weakest of the issues they've tried to confront with this tune.

In the '80s and '90s it was really effective at addressing US military intervention and neo-fascist groups, and after 9/11 it was great at denouncing torture, but at this particular time period (early 2001) it just seems like gun control isn't as significant issue as the other ones this song has dealt with.

  • For leshager2009.

I think you are very stupid, you have any Ideaa about war and you do not understand this Song.BRUTO; BRUTO IMBECIL

  • what a great song!!!

  • Love the slag on Wal-Mart...This is the best version todate, followed very close by Slane Castle version.

  • Leshager - Great... !! Thanks for the tip

  • Best version ever.. is there a way to get this version via mp3?

  • Download from LimeWire or Ares, in search write: bullet the blue sky boston and ready!!! I downloaded this song in that form

  • im not sure wat version i prefer more, this version, or the version from Slane Castle

  • This is almost the only thing where U2's politic statements go wrong: If we deny people's permission to carry guns, we are making them an easy target for the tyrants.

Look back at history, people: What was the first thing Hitler did? He took people's fire arms away so they couldn't rise up against the government.

I'm not a war maniac and few years back I thought U2 was right about the gun issue. Now I think it's good thing to have a gun in case the government is going to make you a slave.

  • Typical pro-guns-USA-answer. You're retarded.

  • while the evil government idea is a little too far out, he's right about Hitler and everything. people have a right to have a firearm to defend themselves with.

  • Yeah, it's only bad when they get into the hands of insane/incompetent people. Especially automatics. :O

  • my favourite version of this song, absolutely awesome!!!

  • poop

  • They play it so much better now than on Zoo Tv. And Bono is still so freakin HOT!

  • I think UFO's were flying around Boston that night.

  • Thank You! Where did you find the song?

  • Bono still rocks

  • @inclinepress what do you mean still? that guy was born to rock!!! he will allways blow people's brains up!

  • This is a PURE example of PERFECT song, show and end of a show. The speech and atmosphere are great, not chills, but tears in my eyes.....

  • Guns are legal in this country because we are free. The US's most profitable export is grain you fool

  • Thank ya so much...The negro Spiritual is fantastic

  • someone explain the pull the trigger rock n roll nigger thing plz

  • always able to put on incredible shows.

    sends chills up me

  • I still get chills when Edge first starts playing.

  • @cpa54 As do I. As do I...

  • @cpa54 I get chills on everythin here, but especially the Edge's solo at 3:57,it's simply unforgettable & beautiful.

  • @cpa54 What kind of chills does he give you? Douche chills? Why doesn't "The Edge" also mention the shootings in Limerick and Dublin? Or the war the Irish are making against themselves in the North? He's a fake and a prick.

  • @mentalillnesstalking

Because he's a Rock Star. Typically, and especially with Irish bands, you can't get involved in politics, or someone might get shot.

  • @liverpoolfcfab5 and Americans are considered to be violent gun nuts. He's a coward for not speaking out on behalf of the Irish who want peace then.

  • @mentalillnesstalking You never heard of a U2 song called Sunday Bloody Sunday, a song shouting out at the gunmen of the North to stop. You never saw footage of Bono singing that song in the Rattle and Hum movie - look it up, it's on YouTube. Especially wait for the speech in the middle.

You never heard of the song Please? (a song calling for an end to the fighting in the North) U2 never talked about Irish war, Irish peace? You need to study them more.

  • Since it's about John Lennon (during the end of the song) , then I felt sorry for him and his family.

  • Simply amazing.

  • beautiful, but what's with the pitch on Bono's "blue SKY"

  • That's my Bono , getting all up in Your faces ! Never mind that this is the single best song U2 ever did. Never mind that U2 is thee best Rock Band there's ever been. Bono social statements also make a whole lotta sense and we all know it

  • It would have been cool if the audience had started into "Give Peace a Chance" at the end of the song.

  • this is the best version of this song out there.

  • I assume that Bono was raked over the coals and almost executed for his multiple use of the word "nigger"? Funny, I heard nothing about it in the media. hmmm.... I wonder why?

  • Why? every Hip Hop Rapper says it all the time in there songs....

  • because it's the lyrics of another classic song ;) i.e. see Patti Smith

  • Because it's not racist you idiot.

    Think of it like this...

     John Lennon = black man

    Mark Chapman = KKK

hence the phrase "rock and roll nigger"

  • exactly masters. and theyre even using gospel music in the beginning, so it wouldnt make any sense to call the racist card

it was also a reference to patti smith's song - its about outsiders, people like lennon, joplin, hendrix, people who/or whose ideas werent fully accepted by society.

  • Charlton Heston's words there are precisely right.

  • U2 have done more to raise awareness and support for good causes around the globe than ANY other musical act PERIOD! It's my hope, that one day we can all live in a world without poverty, disease, famine and above all violence. Keep it up Bono!!!

  • @ erictube2007

Bono wants to change the world, that's obvious. The best way to do that: music.

  • "cardiobuck

Eight year old performance of an even older song. Still relevant."

...wow... you just made me feel old... I saw them for the first time on this tour... amazing show.... didn't fully appreciate how long ago it was

  • thanks for posting this

  • what is the name of the song before Bullet^

  • Wow. Eight year old performance of an even older song. Still relevant.

Saw them in Chicago Sept 12, 2009. best live show I have ever been to.

  • yes yes yes zoo tv kills this version,as good as it is,adelaide 93,watch and learn awesome!!!!!!!

  • Hey John, war is over we dont need your help. America's makin war on itself.

676,000 will go down in the streets of America with a bullet in the next 20 years.

bitter tears. The BUSINESS of bitter tears.

    more bodybags than Vietnam.

  • Oh, my God .. he was talking about Lennon.

  • GRANDE U2

  • Simply incredible. I think this alone would make the purchase of the Boston dvd worthy...

  • what's the name of the song at the begining?

  • What a whole lotta love!!!!!!

  • Pull the trigger on the rock n roll nigger, hes bigger than Jesus on a bumper sticker . . .

  • i love this!!! i think the elevation tour version of this song is so much better than any other tour past or present and i wish u2 would have came out with a live cd for the elevation tour.

  • ummmmmm zoo tv version whoops ass u've heard it im assuming?

  • What a mighty version of this fantastic song.

Here U2 are catch the magic,it can feel it in the air.

The Edge's solo is great, one of the best solos i have ever heard.

  • you're right, that solo is great

it's like a dream and everytime I listen it I wanna close my eyes to see the spirit of this piece of music!

  • Right down there in the Walmart.!!!!!! Amazing version.

  • Best live version ever!!!! Just a goose flesh.. Brrr.

  • when this song played i was so scared espeically the part where the baby pulled out a gun from the bag ( i was 12)

  • they adapted a masterpiece, and came up with another masterpiece. this version (like the slane castle one) is chilling and phenomenal!

  • What does he say: "Pull the trigger on the rock'n'roll nigger, bigger than Jesus on a ???"

    Anyone know? Please!

atleast thats what i hear :-)

  • thats right
