@ginabanadab - Probably shouldn't say anything, but here goes. One conditions weapons, palms included, so they are tough and can handle hard strikes. When entire body weight is snapped into technique, the moment of impact is like a rope with a rock on it. Snap palms at elbow and wrist and can turn him completely around, or stun the arm. Follow up with one palm to floating ribs and one to permanent ribs I see here. Elbos strike should happen just inches above elbow for nerves to stun -
so the guy doing th talking, he is glenn wilson right?. everybody keeps calling him the styles grandmaster, he can't be the grandmaster of all the branches can he?.
@theaxemansmithe You always should train your body cause you need to have it strong to use it properly, Some self defense is about hitting the right spots and speed, using your opponents body against them
@theaxemansmithe Done correctly to the right areas of the body yeah. if someone is trying to kill you i suggest aiming for the head; ears, eyes, temple, jaw, nose, etc and neck. but it depends on your capabilities. open palm techniques can be as effective as punches and are less likely to cause you damage when you use them.
@theaxemansmithe To understand what he is doing you have to understand yourself. He is deflecting his punch then breaking the floating ribs. Hince the name floating cause there not supported by much i guarantee you that even a slap a hard slap at that could easily break the ribs. It's not about flashy moves that saves a martial artist it's about knowledge of human anatomy and how to explode it's natural weaknesses that is what make's martial arts effective.
Glen Wilson is only the Grandmaster of the Gong Yuen Chuan Fa Family of Pai Lum not the entire White Dragon System. Their are many various family's or styles of Pai Lum, to which their are various heads of families. Some of these individuals include John Weninger, Bill Gregory, Tommy St.Charles and so on.
JowKungFu, all that was meant by my former comment was that their are many individuals who trained for extended periods of time with Pai and continue to teach and propagate various versions of Pai's style, and that Pai never stated before he died who his successor should be. My former posting was in response to the inside kung fu posting stating that Wilson was the styles grandmaster. My intent was to clarify that he is only the Grandmaster of his own style of Pai Lum not the entire art.
The idea behind this technique is a good fundamental example self defense for a beginner. For the safety of all novices attempting to apply it, please utilize a better counter technique with correct body mechanics and superior targeting zone when executing the counter attack in a self defense situation.
is that a front stance or horse stance, where are your feet when impact of hit

Zipp101 where did you get your inaccurate information from? Daniel Pai named only 5 heads of families and St. Charles was not one and never has been.
