Let's not forget that America gave us six artists that influenced both American and British music: Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, Bo Diddley, Little Richard, Buddy Holly and Bob Dylan. Liam Gallagher is basically a toned down Ian Brown. The Stone Roses influenced Oasis and The Verve who were the two biggest bands in the 90s, who have in turn, influenced the current biggest band in the world, Coldplay. Anyone who thinks alternative rock is all about Fall Out Boy, Sum 41, Maroon 5 has obviously slept under the rock. Listening to the Verve is a welcome breath of fresh air and if Blur and Faith No More are reuniting, then it is living proof that real alt. rock is alive and well.
