I'm a mechanic on the GTO's and 3000GT's

There are twi obviouse differences between the two.

1) on a 3000GT, by the indicator lights (under folding headlamps) there are more lights going central into the car which are white

2) all 3000GT (MK1, MK2 MK3 and MK4) all have water squirters for the head lamps.

He would go over his head boasting about his car, but in the end he could never beat my 1991 Mitsubishi 3000gt Vr4. As a matter of fact, I think my car is the fastest car in my high school, all the 350z heads are always trying to race me. My car taught me that older generations always have some tricks up their sleeves. It also taught me that cars today aren't what they used to be anymore.

@brbn93 Three letters say all you need to know... "AWD". I may chirp my tires if I do a hard launch, but I'm not going to be spinning my wheels off the line. That much grip, that much power, and that much torque all combine to make these things take off like a rocket. I just took a buddy for his first spin in my VR-4 last night, nearly threw out his back when I slammed into second (he didn't expect me to shift so soon after the intersection we had just launched from). Love my VR-4.

@Dreznin Yeah, it's a shame that Mitsubishi doesn't produce them anymore. I had high hope for the 3g eclipses, but they decided to make them into FWD instead, had they made them into RWD, then 3g eclipses would be nasty. Mitsubishi needs to remake the 3000gt vr4, bringing back the Japanese racing spirit hahaha. Plus, it's expensive and hard as anything just to maintain your 3000gt vr4, they don't make a lot of parts for them anymore.

@robquilter I don't know about the VR4, but the SL is amazing, I happen to own one. It's really nice. With a decent set of tires you could probably take every corner on earth no problem.The only time that the weight is a problem is that the front has all the weight and power (sl is fwd) and the rear is super light, so it slides a little. It takes a bit of getting used to, but they are amazingly fun to drive.(VR4 has 4 wheel turn and AWD.. so i'm sure it's a LOT better handling then my shizzy SL

@mr8bally Yeah, because so many stock integras run in the 13s... Maybe you are thinking of the SOHC base model or the DOHC non-turbo SL, but a VR-4 will eat an integra for breakfast. It doesn't even take $1000 over stock to get a VR-4 to push close to 400 HP at the crank.

Sorry man, I like Hondas too (my last car was a 95 Del Sol with a B16A3, all original), but my VR-4 spanks it hands down. Plus, the VR-4 is even fun on snow.
