Did you know this Philips TV was made in France and most of Japanese ones in Chine/Malasia.

@djmoverider Maybe a few years ago, but France (Dreux, QG) closed down. High end models like this one used to come from Belgium (Bruges, AG) but all European production is now concentrated in Hungary (Szekesfehervar, VN) with some production remaining in Poland (Philips, Jabil, Sharp, as far as I know). Low end models can come from Poland but are designed and manufactured by third parties like TPV (related to Philips Taiwan) and TCL (Thomson).

Always thought this looked interesting...too bad it's made by Philips, as I won't buy anything Philips. They make the such cheap low quality electronics, honestly everything they make is total junk and while this may be better than the rest - I sure wouldn't trust it. No thanks, I buy my LCD's from Japanese companies concerned with top quality - not low quality made in China/Malaysia junk which is all Philips makes...everything I see Philips is all plastic, and broken...what shit...

@Shintsu2 Are you from the US? In that case you might be right, as too many Philips products over there are outsourced to junkmakers like Funai :( European Philips products are mostly 6 to 9 on a scale of 1 to 10.

@AndyFoto ya mine does the same thing thats the way ther made m8 make sure you have the AMBERLIGHT ON ACTIVATION MODE IT CHANGES WHIT WHAT UR LOOKING AT. HERES A TIP TO MAKE UR TV BETTER PAINT UR WALL WHITE AND MOUNT THE TV ON UR WALL I JUST DID IT MY SELF ITS AMAZING IT MAKES THE TV WELL BETTER

It's all preference. I have the 42" with it, and I love it. Inside a giant full wall unit, it provides a beautiful background. After only a few days, all it did was add to the quality of the image. I don't regret this in the least, and for $100.00 it is a great add on. Just get the warranty on it, just in case.

I own a philips 42pfl7603 ambilight tv and i dont regret the purchase i think this tv is a better value compare to other brands and the ambilight is just simply amazing!!

I bought the 37PFL7603 about 2 months ago, love the tv in general, but its the ambilight that makes it stand out from the rest. This video is the one I watched before I went and got it. Nice post man.

I had been looking at this TV but wasn't sure until this video when I noticed the lights change on each side on their own. I was unaware they did, I thought it would the same on each side. That sold me on it and yesterday I ordered a 47" 1080p Ambilight. Won't have it until the 10th but look forward to it.

The walls in my room is painted red. Do you think you will still be able to see the lights from the tv since my wall is red or does my wall have to be white for the lights to stand out? What do you think?

Also do you have put it up againts the wall for the light really show?

If the TV is next to wall the colors will be shown incorrectly. Phillips recommends to keep 20 cm between the TV and the wall, in this case red walls wouldn't be a bad thing.
