okay so this seems pretty lame. first of all he puts the spear on his suit collar the thickest part plus a shirt.... he didnt even show if it was sharp or not.... The phone book rip is easly done and displayed On Myth busters, The host adam does it over and over. finally the metal has to be specific and brittle... if it was any metal bar it would not break but simply bend... they use highspeed steel that was heated and cooled super fast making it brittle as glass.....

The phone book trick is done by folding it first and shifting all the pages equally in such a way that when you start pulling, there is space between the pages that you are ripping, making it very easy to tear it apart.

The metal bar is very tough, but it breaks relatively easily. Because of the speed it hits the head, it breaks off and thus it doesn't really apply much pressure to the head. Hence it doesn't hurt.

As all of his other tricks are fake I can only assume the metal breaking is as well. Neither you nor I actually saw that bar up close, 1000 dollars says that it's not as hard as a real metal file or crowbar. So to answer your question, yes I'm sure i could break that bar on my head.

I have lots of respect and these maneuvers can be done with the right physics attributes. The speer is first bowed and the flat edge of the tip rests against your neck thereby deflecting the force and distributing it along the surface. He's right you must have the focus because if the speer straightens out like a spring it goes through your throat.
