@JacksonJS50Dinky im not saying anthrax is bad, but why is that a shame? or are you another one of them types that think metallica sucks just because you dont like the black album?
You can't tell me this isn't the greatest thing in metal as far as live shows is concerned. In some ways, it's the greatest live show in rock history. Think about, what if the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Who and Cream would have played together or Zeppelin, Sabbath, Purple and Kiss? Fans have being dreaming of this moment for over forty years for their favorite bands to put aside their egos and give back to those who helped these bands become successful. A truly great moment.
total bullshit.why are they doing the tour in fuckin europe? they all started in california.ive got more of a right to see them then those european cock suckers.
@MetallicADudE94 what about people like Lars Ulrich? He ain´t from America. So i guess he´s a cock sucker as well? Remember. If it wasn´t for Lars. There wouldn´t be any Metallica.*!

@mansand15 If were REALLY going to have album sale wars here, than yes, Megadeth has the second most. Slayer and Anthrax are no where near Megadeth. Slayer doesn't even have a platinum album (not even Reign in Blood!), and I doubt Anthrax does.
i saw this yesterday i highly doubt that this was broadcast live unless it was pre-recorded but still it was a great 4 hour experience :D, Megadeth was fantastic Metallica just gave me goosebumps and chills down my spine because it was my first show and that was only a year ago! but still Metallica's set was strong only 1 song from death magnetic, overall i think this was a great concert i'm buying this when it comes out
@epinky2295 ohh ok. because i was reading a myspace status by megadeth talking about the big four concert and alot of the comments under it said kirk and dave hugged.

Kirk was too loud (always a bad thing), James' voice was like a distant telephone call, Dave's rhythm guitar was too quiet... I could go on all night. Just saw it in the theatres! Was awesome. In my opinion Metallica was best, but the best part was last when all the bands came in on the stage together and played some covers by Diamond Head together! It was so epic. I nearly cried!
@1StTubeYou no way man, Metallica needs to retire. Metallica IS and WAS always my favorite of the big four. Fact is, they need to bow out. Lars is dead, Kirk sux, Rob is just a guy playing bass in the greatest band ever. James' playing is still pretty good, his voice is gone. It saddens me deeply to see them lacking soooo much.
Are you freaking kidding me?!? Metallica is doing excellent right now. I love their Death Magnetic album. You obviously don't know what you are talking about. I was at this show a little while ago and people where so excited when Metallica came on that they almost fell over the balcony. Does that really seem like the fans have lost interest in them? I think not.
@LovleyPuppyLove you obviously have not been a Metallica fan for very long. I have been listening to them for almost 20 years. They hit their peak in 1989 (hint watch some live stuff from Seattle '89 THAT is AWESOME live Metallica!!!) DM is at best a mediocre album, a FAR cry from the timeless Master of Puppets. The fact is almost 30 years of Alcoholica has finally caught up with them. They have toured VERY hard for 30 years and have NOTHING left!!!!
@LovleyPuppyLove you are obviously a new young fan that is enamored with Metallica. Just because people are excited doesn't mean they're still good. I never said their fans have lost interest. They have been the top touring act for the last 20 years!!! You cannot compare Metallica's live shows of today to 20 years ago. THAT is why I say they need to retire. You obviously do not have an ear for music, rhythm, melody, timing or anything... Fact is Metallica cannot do what they used to.
Wtf, Ive been a Metallica fan for twelve years. Iv'e been to alot
of their concerts. And I do love every album they put out. They are not the same
but they are unique in their own ways. People will always pick at of what they put out. Especially the St. Anger Album. Sure, there will never be another Black album or Master of Puppets. But to me, and pretty much everyone else they are kicking ass at what they are doing right now. I sure wouldn't want them to stop...
@shotgunndunn i wholeheardtly agree with u im 41 i saw metallica since they were a club band saw them bout 5 times with cliff burton maybe 5 times without........there music today is bubble gum radio crap they should retire is right...atleast slayer stayed true to there music
@raybeez55 Heck yeah man!!! Slayer career has been like an armor piercing bullet. Nothing has phased them at all!!! They just keep pounding out awesome albums. With the exception of PanterA, nobody even comes close to Metallica in their prime (live '89 and even a little bit into the 90's) BTW, you are the smartest youtuber I have ever come across. I just keep listenin' to MOP, RTL, AJFA, KEA, and even the Black Album. When in doubt, live in the past!!! Rock on man!!!!
@shotgunndunn Everyone is always insulting Metallica, and I truly do not understand why. If you saw the same concert as I did, you saw Kirk solo some of the fiercest he ever has. I was nervous for him because Dave and Chris had some pretty wicked solos, but Kirk's competed easily. Sure, Lars seems to struggle a little bit, but he still has that great energy. Rob is a pretty decent bassist, and is exciting live. James' voice is still great, i dont' know what your talking about.
@BSUOSUlover you cannot be serious. Trust me dude, I grew up on Kirks solo's. He has LOST it!!!! Even in his prime he always a bit sloppy live. Listen to Death Magnetic. All he does is repeat the same frickin' triplet pattern and then ascend or descend diatonically. He has nothing left to give, and he is completely sloppy now. Same with Lars. Rob IS a great bass player, he just doesn't fit with what Metallica was, and should be. Listen to some videos of James' voice from '89...
@shotgunndunn I am not saying that Kirk has overly complicated solos, I am saying, his soloing still stands against the other members of the the big four, and are far superior to Slayer's. And yes, I have seen performances of the 80's an dhis voice was much better than. but it is differant now, and it still sounds good. it seems more powerful, but with less range.
@BSUOSUlover I'll agree with one thing, Kirk is still not a sloppy as Kerry and Jeff. However, Chris Broderick is LIGHTYEARS beyond Kirk (any era of Kirk that is). Metallica is definitely NOT more powerful now than they were 20+ years ago. Not a matter of opinion either. THey're sound is thinner, they're reflexes are slower, they're endurance is MUCh less. Not opinion, but fact.
@shotgunndunn Yes, the Megadeth guitarists are far superior, at soloing. However, I have always thought that Metallica just had better songs, and those songs aren't going anywhere. I'm not going to argue Metallica is better, or near as good as they were 21 years ago. I am simply saying, they have changed. You can tell that they would rather play Nothing Else Matters, or Fade to Black, than Hit the Lights, or Master of Puppets. Kirk is still a decent guitarist, who had some pretty good solos live
@BSUOSUlover Agreed... Metallica, in my opinion did have much better songs overall, until Load and Reload. Kirk had some amazing solos, in fact, when I started playing guitar back in '93 he was my main inspiration. That being said, I LOVE Megadeth too, and this concert was truly EPIC. I just wish it could have been much LOUDER in the theater. Good debate buddy!!! ;)
@shotgunndunn Haha yeah, I mean, he's not the best, but every guitarist gets compared to the top slate, which makes it tough. Actual technical skill is a small part of guitar. and yes, great performances. Although, i think the actualy IDEA was better than seeing it haha, but nonetheless it was a good time. and this stupid 400 character limit makes it hard to really get an idea out, so sorry if I was unclear sometimes!
@shotgunndunn I'm talking about the solos not the light leads. Even if it wasn't perfect, I literally felt like I was at an 80s Metallica concert, because they were on perfect timing, vocal effects, and so on, I can't describe how I felt listening, but it was like Seattle 1989 all over again when they played Harvester of Sorrow. It was so damned AWESOME, and yes the leads were nailed PERFECTLY on that one.
@chernobleman Harvesters lead was actually pretty good, I'll give you that... Vocal FX are up to the engineer. Those mics they used have got to go, not because of the look , but because of the sound. Sorry dude, not at all like '89. Aside form the fact that they are all different people now (grown up and what not...) (not to mention that Jason is now Rob, lol!) they use different gear and have thinned out their sound and use less gain. This performance did not sound like '89 in any way.
@LovleyPuppyLove "new fans" of the "new Metallica" are not true Metallica fans. Metallica is dead and the current posers pretending to be Metallica are pitiful.
@lordadmira3 yeah man, what ever happened to, 'We'll never stop we'll never quit cause we're Metallica!!!!!" We should sue them. We have been deceived. Where's Johnny Cochrane. Just kidding, but not really... At least we still have MOP, RTL, AJFA, and KEA to crank up. Nothing can take that away from us!!! The Memory Remains!!! (pun intended ;)
@LovleyPuppyLove Yeah really! I think theres just some people who are caught in a glitch and automatically say Metallica sucks no matter what, like they cant help it. Its all they Know. If they dont want to be a part of the re-emergence of one of the most influential, if not the most influential metal band ever, well then its their loss.
@TheKevFella You got me there. Any true metal head would agree. With early songs like Wicked world and Hand of doom, no contest...and Ive always thought the riff after the second chorus of the Four horseman sounds strikingly like Children of the grave.
Anthrax Is a Great Band Common. Testament is also Great. They Include Anthrax Cause Belladonna, Bello, Spitz, Ian, and Benante made a big movement on thrash at their time! Though Exodus is my favorite Thrash Band i admit Anthrax deserves the Place on the Big 4! The Big 4: Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, and Slayer they sound different, they're Thrash but they still sound Unique and they where the first ones to create that sounds that's why they are the big 4! \m/
@DrEviscerator666 I dont think these young kids these days understand how big and influential Anthrax was back in the 80's. I actually was into them just a little before I was into Metallica. I bought the I am the man ep and heard There cover of Sabbath bloody sabbath and was pretty much hooked.
So...Any young fux that need a lesson in Anthrax, check out Sabbath bloody sabbath, and then check out Stand or fall, Gung ho, and anything off of Spreading the disease.
@sepulmattica1 ,Among The Living Album Will Make them Understand Why Anthrax is so Big! Indians is just WOW! I actually Like Exodus over all Thrash Bands but i know this are the Big 4 Cause the Influence they made on the scene and That they where one of the Ones Who Started the Sub-Genre! Cheers Man, and it's nice to see someone who likes the Oldest Stuff! Hail Sabbath!
@DrEviscerator666 Im a big Exodus fan too, and went through a big Exodus phase, the only problem I have with them is there way too 1 dimensional, even Slayer can show more depth. As far as them being one of the originators, I also have a bit of an issue with that. Their earliest demos do not demonstrate the speed of Piranha r Strike of the beast. I believe, and read, that they sped up, as did Slayer and Anthrax after watching Metallica play.
@DrEviscerator666 Im not a fan boy though, dont get me wrong! Metallica, (and even Megadeth, and Anthrax) have had some pretty gay moments, and I dont defend that...
Another band worth mention is Overkill! Years of decay, Horrorscope, these albums were fuckin way bad ass! Even Feel the fire (except for the fact that it sounded like way too much like Iron maiden)
@sepulmattica1 ,Ofcourse Overkill is Sick! My Personal Big 4 is: Exodus, Kreator, Sodom and Overkill. But i know the Original Big 4 are because the Influence they have made to Everyone. Cheers mate
@DrEviscerator666 ....woooooow!!...dude are you sure theres going to be a concert like that??..or u fuckin joking?....cos if there is its better than this!!...Fuck yeah if it is \m/
Whoo! Going to see them tomorrow(in theater...) but anyways...who cares?Actually, the sound has a better quality in theater and if i'd go to see them live, maybe i'd got a place only at the back so i can also see them better .
Metallica is the most popular heavy metal band but that don't mean sh!t - McDonald's is the most popular restaurant in the world and the one that sell the most- do you think McDonald's is the best restaurant also? Well Metallica is the McDonald's in heavy metal industry.
I think this festival is too focused in metallica. this 4 bands are equally great. anyway, allready bought my ticket to watch it in a theather here in Brasil

Rock on man!!!!
shotgunndunn 1 year ago
@shotgunndunn Everyone is always insulting Metallica, and I truly do not understand why. If you saw the same concert as I did, you saw Kirk solo some of the fiercest he ever has. I was nervous for him because Dave and Chris had some pretty wicked solos, but Kirk's competed easily. Sure, Lars seems to struggle a little bit, but he still has that great energy. Rob is a pretty decent bassist, and is exciting live. James' voice is still great, i dont' know what your talking about.
BSUOSUlover 1 year ago
@BSUOSUlover you cannot be serious. Trust me dude, I grew up on Kirks solo's. He has LOST it!!!! Even in his prime he always a bit sloppy live. Listen to Death Magnetic. All he does is repeat the same frickin' triplet pattern and then ascend or descend diatonically. He has nothing left to give, and he is completely sloppy now. Same with Lars. Rob IS a great bass player, he just doesn't fit with what Metallica was, and should be. Listen to some videos of James' voice from '89...
shotgunndunn 1 year ago
@shotgunndunn I am not saying that Kirk has overly complicated solos, I am saying, his soloing still stands against the other members of the the big four, and are far superior to Slayer's. And yes, I have seen performances of the 80's an dhis voice was much better than. but it is differant now, and it still sounds good. it seems more powerful, but with less range.
BSUOSUlover 1 year ago
@BSUOSUlover I'll agree with one thing, Kirk is still not a sloppy as Kerry and Jeff. However, Chris Broderick is LIGHTYEARS beyond Kirk (any era of Kirk that is). Metallica is definitely NOT more powerful now than they were 20+ years ago. Not a matter of opinion either. THey're sound is thinner, they're reflexes are slower, they're endurance is MUCh less. Not opinion, but fact.
shotgunndunn 1 year ago
@shotgunndunn Yes, the Megadeth guitarists are far superior, at soloing. However, I have always thought that Metallica just had better songs, and those songs aren't going anywhere. I'm not going to argue Metallica is better, or near as good as they were 21 years ago. I am simply saying, they have changed. You can tell that they would rather play Nothing Else Matters, or Fade to Black, than Hit the Lights, or Master of Puppets. Kirk is still a decent guitarist, who had some pretty good solos live
BSUOSUlover 1 year ago
@BSUOSUlover Agreed... Metallica, in my opinion did have much better songs overall, until Load and Reload. Kirk had some amazing solos, in fact, when I started playing guitar back in '93 he was my main inspiration. That being said, I LOVE Megadeth too, and this concert was truly EPIC. I just wish it could have been much LOUDER in the theater. Good debate buddy!!! ;)
shotgunndunn 1 year ago
@shotgunndunn Haha yeah, I mean, he's not the best, but every guitarist gets compared to the top slate, which makes it tough. Actual technical skill is a small part of guitar. and yes, great performances. Although, i think the actualy IDEA was better than seeing it haha, but nonetheless it was a good time. and this stupid 400 character limit makes it hard to really get an idea out, so sorry if I was unclear sometimes!
BSUOSUlover 1 year ago
@shotgunndunn Dude, he had it back at the show. I'm not kidding, for a second, I thought I was watching an 80s Metallica concert.
chernobleman 1 year ago
@chernobleman who Kirk? He messed up 7 notes into the intro solo to Fade to Black. If that is what you were referring to...
shotgunndunn 1 year ago
@shotgunndunn I'm talking about the solos not the light leads. Even if it wasn't perfect, I literally felt like I was at an 80s Metallica concert, because they were on perfect timing, vocal effects, and so on, I can't describe how I felt listening, but it was like Seattle 1989 all over again when they played Harvester of Sorrow. It was so damned AWESOME, and yes the leads were nailed PERFECTLY on that one.
chernobleman 1 year ago
@chernobleman Harvesters lead was actually pretty good, I'll give you that... Vocal FX are up to the engineer. Those mics they used have got to go, not because of the look , but because of the sound. Sorry dude, not at all like '89. Aside form the fact that they are all different people now (grown up and what not...) (not to mention that Jason is now Rob, lol!) they use different gear and have thinned out their sound and use less gain. This performance did not sound like '89 in any way.
shotgunndunn 1 year ago
@shotgunndunn it's a matter of opinion, thank you for yours.

(pun intended ;)

kirkluvr48 1 year ago
@LovleyPuppyLove Yeah really! I think theres just some people who are caught in a glitch and automatically say Metallica sucks no matter what, like they cant help it. Its all they Know. If they dont want to be a part of the re-emergence of one of the most influential, if not the most influential metal band ever, well then its their loss.
sepulmattica1 1 year ago
@sepulmattica1 Theres only 1 band more influential than Metallica and thats Black Sabbath
TheKevFella 1 year ago
@TheKevFella You got me there. Any true metal head would agree. With early songs like Wicked world and Hand of doom, no contest...and Ive always thought the riff after the second chorus of the Four horseman sounds strikingly like Children of the grave.

@sepulmattica1 Well if you have ever listened to wherever I may roam the main sounds like it came from a part in ironman well to me it is anyway

hahaha i´m sorry man it´s just opinion, no fighting...
Megadeth has so fucking good and brilliant sound, but voice is a fucking CRAAAPPP
Chuck Billy is School, and u need to learn some Bay Area Thrash....
And i was only saying what should be a Big Four Selection, i´m not saying that megadeth or other bands are bad ok?
priestofdeathrj 7 months ago
Anthrax Is a Great Band Common. Testament is also Great. They Include Anthrax Cause Belladonna, Bello, Spitz, Ian, and Benante made a big movement on thrash at their time! Though Exodus is my favorite Thrash Band i admit Anthrax deserves the Place on the Big 4! The Big 4: Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, and Slayer they sound different, they're Thrash but they still sound Unique and they where the first ones to create that sounds that's why they are the big 4! \m/
DrEviscerator666 1 year ago
@DrEviscerator666 I dont think these young kids these days understand how big and influential Anthrax was back in the 80's. I actually was into them just a little before I was into Metallica. I bought the I am the man ep and heard There cover of Sabbath bloody sabbath and was pretty much hooked.
So...Any young fux that need a lesson in Anthrax, check out Sabbath bloody sabbath, and then check out Stand or fall, Gung ho, and anything off of Spreading the disease.
sepulmattica1 1 year ago
@sepulmattica1 ,Among The Living Album Will Make them Understand Why Anthrax is so Big! Indians is just WOW! I actually Like Exodus over all Thrash Bands but i know this are the Big 4 Cause the Influence they made on the scene and That they where one of the Ones Who Started the Sub-Genre! Cheers Man, and it's nice to see someone who likes the Oldest Stuff! Hail Sabbath!

DrEviscerator666 1 year ago
@DrEviscerator666 Im a big Exodus fan too, and went through a big Exodus phase, the only problem I have with them is there way too 1 dimensional, even Slayer can show more depth. As far as them being one of the originators, I also have a bit of an issue with that. Their earliest demos do not demonstrate the speed of Piranha r Strike of the beast. I believe, and read, that they sped up, as did Slayer and Anthrax after watching Metallica play.
sepulmattica1 1 year ago
@DrEviscerator666 Im not a fan boy though, dont get me wrong! Metallica, (and even Megadeth, and Anthrax) have had some pretty gay moments, and I dont defend that...
Another band worth mention is Overkill! Years of decay, Horrorscope, these albums were fuckin way bad ass! Even Feel the fire (except for the fact that it sounded like way too much like Iron maiden)
sepulmattica1 1 year ago
@sepulmattica1 ,Ofcourse Overkill is Sick! My Personal Big 4 is: Exodus, Kreator, Sodom and Overkill. But i know the Original Big 4 are because the Influence they have made to Everyone. Cheers mate

Metallica is the most popular heavy metal band but that don't mean sh!t - McDonald's is the most popular restaurant in the world and the one that sell the most- do you think McDonald's is the best restaurant also? Well Metallica is the McDonald's in heavy metal industry.
