  • Debra Monk has an amazing resume dating back decades. She has been in MANY Broadway shows and should have a mantle full of Tonys. Too bad this show was a mess. The cast was mostly sensational but the whole musical was misguided and the leading lady did not have star chops. It was absolutely gorgeous to look at.

  • saw her in Curtains on Broadway a few years ago :) and she was on glee! She's a phenomenal actress and a wonderful singer! ahaha and so funny

  • When I first heard this song and that is was from "Steel Pier" my first thought was, "Kristin or Karen must have sang it in the show." (Can you picture that?) Imagine my surprise when I found out it was Debra. What an amazing talent and performance!

  • In this song she sings about being like Carmen, in "Curtains" her character's name was Carmen. Just interesting trivia.

  • she was asowm in music man

  • Ha!

  • Mrs. O'Malley!

  • Huh? -..

She acts so well! But now I know she can sing too!

I love Debra Monk! Especially in Nero Wolfe...

  • I've worked briefly with Debra Monk, and I couldn't have said it any better. As enormously talented as she is, she's an even more wonderful person. Yes, I too I love Debra Monk to itty bitty pieces!!!!! LOL.

  • As an actor I am sooooo incredibly jealous!!! She is such a talented actress, and seems like a really honestly sweet person. What did you work with her on?

  • Knockout performance of a really swell number from the musical Steel Pier ! THANKS !

  • where have her eyeballs gone!?

  • Is THAT really important to the purpose of posting this clip?

  • I like the singer but not the song. To me the it's a poor man's "I Cain't Say No."

  • You gotta love it when the audience starts applauding that wildly before she can even finish.

    She's brilliant.

  • Debra Monk is amazing!
